I just pictured a whole biopic of his life & career listening to this interview. GREAT INTERVIEW, GREAT LIFE STORY, GREAT MAN, GREAT LESSONS GREAT EVERYTHING!!
B/c his connection to these black entertainers is so much deeper than Vlad's. That said, props to Vlad for creating the show in the first place. He should step aside
This has to be one of the greatest interviews on VLAD. The multiple stories Montell told in and out of the industry as well as his upbringing and overall mindset were very interesting to hear. Montell mentioned things I didn't even know about. He is very well-spoken and still looks great. Montell still has the voice too. Nice interview. The interviewer was good too. Great questions. I love interviews like this.👍🏾😁
What a great interview, I had the pleasure to work with Montell for a fund raising event CADRE in South Central...Big Props...to this super talented cat.
Great interview...one of my faves yet. So many gems. Awesome storyteller. Montell is a great talent and seems like an overall decent guy. He still looks good too.
I loved this interview. One of the best for sure. Congrats to his parents. We need to hear more from him. Maybe a judge at a show or something. He knows music. BTW Victory was always one of my old time favorites at church that my aunt Mildred sung. Im 37. Loved this. WOW!!!
I saw 2 1/2 hours and wondered if I should start. Once I did, I couldn't stop. Great interview. Actually great testimony, this was a true testimony. Thank you Montell.
Def Jam had the best rollout for any artist in the 90s if an artist was signed to them, they would get the best marketing and promotion to make them the biggest star they could possibly be. It’s so many talented artists from both the east and west that would of been bigger had they been on that label.
The beauty of Montell Jordan is not only his ordination in his voice and music, but the presence of Christ in him. The truth of his story is compelling, and one of the best interviews given. Much love, healing and success to you and all your family Montell.
YES, I AGREE‼️HIS HONESTY IS COMMENDABLE AND SUCH A WONDERFUL, GREAT THING TO HAVE EXPERIENCED‼️I LOVE THE WAY HE GAVE A VERY DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EVERY ASPECT OF HIS LIFE FROM THE VERY BEGINNING OF HIS CHILDHOOD, UPBRINGING AND EACH STAGE OF HIS LIFE‼️HE TRULY GAVE GREAT INSIGHT, UNDERSTANDING, ANSWERS TO THINGS THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE WONERED ABOUT, DIDN'T UNDERSTAND AND QUESTIONED‼️I was enlightened and educated on things from this interview with him. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE, WISDOM AND FAITH IN GOD 🙏🏿🙏🏿❤️🤍❤️🙂
We all know those "black don't crack" and what not jokes and tropes - but this time, in the case of that Montell Jordan dude, it becomes simply RIDICULOUS. Dude is heading towards his 60s and looks like late 20s. Fkn crayzay man.
amazing to see Montel Jordan he is so very talented so glad he looks great and is still doing well now let's dig into his life I'm so interested in how he creates. fantastic artists. thanks for this detailed interview.
That’s not true he did Luenell and some others I can’t think of right now, it’s funny folks say that about Vlad but it has never came out on paperwork..ur a bit weird!
@@goddyssbacon9317 it has nothing to do with him not liking your comment...the point is he exposed you for being a clown complaining like a female. then you deflect his point like a coward. also, you're lying that vlad never interviews non-criminals. get off the internet and fix your life lmbao
Congratulations to you, Montell Jordan & all your success! The name of the Club in Pasadena was Menage on Colorado Blvd. I remember you auditioning for Penny & Crystal. Don't know if you remember Max & Malcolm we were responsible for promoting, & setting up rehearsals for the Showcases on Wednesday. That Final Night With Janet Jackson was Everything!I also you Won the Showcase! So Happy For All Your Success & Growth! Continued Blessings To You. Great interview.
Loving and thoroughly enjoying this interview‼️He's absolutely correct, Russell Simmons is bizarre‼️It delighted me and was so great for me to hear that he had the same experience that I did when I met Russell Simmons. I met Russell Simmons while I was working for AMTRAK, in Philadelphia at the 30th Street Station in the ticket office. Russell and a couple of guys(one may have been his bodyguard) came to my window to buy train tickets to go to New York and the way Russell was acting while I was trying to find out where they needed tickets to go to. I was, like he said, a bizarre and strange experience I had with Russell Simmons. I met many celebrities while working in the ticket office. I also met his brother Rev. Run and that was a pleasant experience. Don't get me wrong, Russell wasn't nasty or mean, I was just taken by surprise and didn't know what to make of the way he acted. For instance, when he came to my window, he turned his back instead of standing at the window facing me and us looking at each other face to face, his back was facing me which hindered me from being able to ask him what he needed tickets for‼️That was the way our interaction began‼️I also want to co-sign what he said about ordering water at a restaurant and asking for lemons to make lemonade‼️I do the same thing and have been doing it for years‼️OK MONTELL‼️YOU'RE A GREAT ARTIST, GREAT TALENT AND ONE OF MY FAVORITES ‼️May God continue to bless you and your family🙏🏿👍👏👏🔥🔥🏆⭐️🎉🎉🎉🎉❤️🤍❤️🙂
That's synchronicity. You probably manifested that yourself without knowing it... with your emotional focus (or something?). Happens to me too. That's how you do it. ;)
36:28 I love the fact that he used the word “uprising” to describe the early 90’s civil unrest in LA instead of the word “riot”. I took that word out of my vocabulary in 2020. “Uprising” is more accurate.
Such an interesting interview! Montell's journey in life is amazing! His stories of LA bck n the day are facts! Still looks good! Still sounds good! Best interview I've seen in a while!
I remember when I was a kid and I waited at the mall in Oakland for HOURS for him and Aaliyah to show up. She never came but montell did and he was like a giant to me at the time lol but he was nice 🤩
wow! i remember visiting a distant family member who lived over there very near Crenshaw, and I remember as we came into her house and about to sit on a sofa near the window, shw was like, "No, baby! Don't sit there"....she had us sit away from the windows FOR THAT SAME REASON....and the children sat on the floor!😳 That was mid 90s.... Dayum, Amerikkka!👀
This is THE Best interview VLAD TV has done. So Fulfilling, So Truthful, So Real, So thorough. Sometimes God takes you through something to show you that YOU are the ANSWER. Glad Montelll's wife followed GOD and not the World. I called him the 'Kobe Bryant' of Music.. Congratulations Montell and the Jordan Family. That Debra Cox song has been my All Time favorite, so refreshing to know he and his partner were the creators of that one. Timeless music.
I'm a huge Montell fan. Just seen him and Dru Hill, next month, going to see him at the L.A County fair. This man is THE MAN. His music brings you in and his love for the Lord and everything that God has annoited him with will make you stay. I just have one issue, pretty small but still.... He didn't perform Something for the honeyz at his last show. That's my favorite song of his and i understand it was overshadowed by the hit song but you would've made our night and weekend. Lol All good. I can't wait until the next show. I'm more than likely to join his church, too.
Man I’d love to meet Montell! Just to chop it up. He comes from a place of purity. Every word, gesture, etc came from the heart. I’m glad he’s not in this tainted music industry that we all know today. Saved, just like his shirt says. Much love my brother and keep going! Btw, it’s NUTS how this man hasn’t aged, one bit! Go look at the music video “This is how we do it”… 🤯
Thank you so much Montell for the IRS master class! I have often wondered, how is it that some entertainers end up with tax issues? Even if they have an accountant don’t they verify every transaction, income/expenses, etc. to make sure that the accountant recorded accurately? Do some entertainers not schedule a day or two to sit with the accountant to prepare their taxes together? That way they’d know exactly what is being included. I am nowhere near the tax bracket of an entertainer, but my mother taught me how to keep track of everything I earn and all of my expenses. She also modeled for me how to go to an accountant for professional help to process my taxes. Yes, it takes the accountant and I a few hours, but together we check and double-check everything before I sign and submit my federal and state tax forms. I wonder, if some entertainers just leave everything up to their accountants? That would make me so very uncomfortable. Just thinking out loud…
I truly enjoyed this interview. Montell has great stories and I loved learning things about him I didn't know. That tax story was some great advice for others to avoid that happening to them. The only thing I would contest would be the claim to have started the sing rapping style. Bone Thugs came out in 93 while Montell came out in 95. While they sound nothing alike, Bone pretty much put that style out 1st. Vlad bring Montell back! DOWN SOUTH!!!
"It makes no sense that an adulterer can help marriages stay together." Actually, it makes perfect sense; he's been there, done that, learned from it and now wants to share his experiences with others in hopes they won't make the same mistakes he has. Also, it's incredibly refreshing to watch an interview in which the subject is actually allowed to talk and share whatever they've got to say without being interrupted by the interviewer every few words or sentences.

One of the best vlad interviews I’ve seen.
Salute to you brother Montell.
May God continue to bless you sir.
👊🏿✌🏿
I still buy all his albums....including " MasterPeace"
He always has 1 or 2 gems on each album.
1 or 2 ain’t worth it for me but I love this artist tho
Any vlad interview with no vlad would make me believe in a sky daddy also lol
Dude still looks beautiful, still has a beautiful voice and a beautiful soul. He's Mr Beautiful
And you sound like mista fruity no offense bro
*Youthful would of been a better choice of words lol but I understand
He had weight loss surgery earlier in his career to promote his image as a R&B sex symbol.

Who is this that is doing the interview
I don’t think he’s very good. He just tries to be agreeable and can’t be critical or deep
This interviewer is getting better. I enjoyed the questions. Much love 2 M.J...one of the BEST.
That's a great interview! The interviewer did a great job by letting him speak up his mind freely.
This is a top 5 interview. The interviewer and Montell were both great.
Montel has so many songs that bring me back to my youth, great interview, seems like a great guy.
I love this interview! God bless Montell Jordan🙏🏾
The way Montell tells his story is 🔥 🔥 great interview 👍🏿
The arm strokes 🤣

I can’t believe how young he still looks!!
I've been wanting to see a Montell Jordan interview ever since I was a lowercase G.
Great interview...one of my faves yet. So many gems. Awesome storyteller. Montell is a great talent and seems like an overall decent guy. He still looks good too.
Maaaan "This is how we do it" was on repeat amongst MANY other hits back then for me...C&C Music Factory hit comes to mind as well.
A humble man with a very consistent discography. Pure talent! Was even kind enough to chat with me on myspace back in those days.
Who knew we needed this interview. Montel needs his documentary.
Man, I FELT him on when he was talkin about bein at the church EVERYDAY and the radio bein 'the devil's music'....exactly how i grew up.
I loved this interview. One of the best for sure. Congrats to his parents. We need to hear more from him. Maybe a judge at a show or something. He knows music. BTW Victory was always one of my old time favorites at church that my aunt Mildred sung. Im 37. Loved this. WOW!!!

Wow, what an interview!
One of the best ones here on this channel!
Montell Jordan really enjoyed being there and tell his story! ⭐️
I saw 2 1/2 hours and wondered if I should start. Once I did, I couldn't stop. Great interview. Actually great testimony, this was a true testimony. Thank you Montell.
One of the artist I grew up listening to. Montelle was one of a kind type of of artist who took what he knew and put it into the music.
Beautiful story and testimony 🙏

Amazing interview! Hopefully when he comes back they ask Montell about how he wrote “Incomplete” for Sisqo.
You're right I loved it❤
