Ehhh, the NPI 4.6 was a truck engine that ran out of breath at 4500rpm (horrid performance engine). The PI came out and Ford made some more hp but was still way down on power compared to the LS1 in the camaro being sold at the same time. Then add in the fact that there was very little in the way of performance parts when they came out while the old SB could be built easily and cheaply. The 2v is good with boost or for a swap to an older lighter car though since they are really reliable. I have built a few but i completely under stand why they are hated, especially when you can go to a junk yard and get a 2v, SBF or even truck LS for the same $250 but the last 2 can be built to make more power for less money.
Everyone loves the 350z, but hates on the new edge. Yet the 2v new edge is about half the price as s 350z and around the same power, both do 0-60 in about 5.3 seconds. Mustang has more torque but the Z has a little more power. This car needs a lot more love, it’s not slow at all.

I own an New Edge SN-95 and a Fiesta ST. I am a Ford enthusiast. I also work for Ford. The other reason my blue oval overlords chose not to install an Independent Rear Suspension on every New Edge Mustang was cost. The cost of that suspension would have added approximately $5000 to the purchase price of every Mustang. They already had a live rear axle with their world famous 8.8 inch differential in every new F150 and Crown Victoria, (both of which were also fleet vehicles), not to mention the Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car. This means a volume discount on those live rear axles. They didn’t have to throw any extra money into R&D or small time manufacturers. However I BELIEVE (not 100% on this) a small time parts supply company stepped up and said they could do it on the cheap in low volumes. The low volume and higher cost could only work with a smaller number of specialized versions. Ford was able to sneak in the added cost of this low volume IRS into the steep markup price of the (extensively modified) Terminator Cobra. They couldn’t justify it on every Mustang anyways, as they had to keep prices as close as possible to the Mustangs closest rival, the Camaro. The added cost to manufacture a high volume IRS would’ve stepped the mustang up almost into BMW territory, and out of their own domestic muscle niche. It just wasn’t feasible.
It's a hard one to come across but if you get the opportunity bring back the MC3 days by doing a review on the 2000 Saleen SR "Street Version"...You'll really have to look hard for it.

Makes me so grateful my pops showed me the way of the Bullitt, can’t wait to take ownership of that bad boy one day, even today it still gets all sorts of weird looks lol people just don’t know what tf it is
You need to find the dude who put a 2JZ in his Mustang that was on a One Take a while back lol.
Best videos are of u in mustangs. It's just that I know everything will be alright when you're diving a pony😭!

You should get a new edge gt and do a mild street build for budget car dudes, come on dude in the blue stang.
Thank you David, Very cool!
Love hearing that turbo spool!🤤🤤
Why does everyone keep forgetting that the 1999 NA Cobra was a thing?
Yeah, I've been following his build on this lol. As soon as I saw the front exhaust dump lol.
Just picked up my highland green 01 bullit yesterday :)

That song at the beginning made me put a hole in my wall!!! whooo!!! dubastpapapapap
I love that chassis mustang so much!
99-01 cobra had irs too it wasn't just the terminator that got irs.
Awesome video man! 👍🏻
Also the 4.6 Explorer motor had an aluminum block. Weight savings!
Bullitt gang wya?
My 01 still going strong after 170k miles. Only a couple more month until I wake her up😁😁

Awesome video and car . Do more budget builds please ! 🤙
Mustang lifestyle !
And the Saleen S281 and they made a Roush version too!!
It does seem liked it'd be a weird experience, but can be very fast, if built and tuned right.
Finally did a bullitt.
Oh it aint forgotten
Any body else notice thay the exhaust realized how fast they were going and went back inside? 3:48
It's a hard one to come across but if you get the opportunity bring back the MC3 days by doing a review on the 2000 Saleen SR "Street Version"...You'll really have to look hard for it.
the mach 1 was amazing
