Is a BOOSTED V6 Mustang a Modern Buick Grand National?

The V6 Mustang sure does get a bad reputation. Don't get me wrong, years and years of it being overshadowed by the Mustang GT it's no wonder Ford finally made the cyclone V6 a much better engine before discontinuing the V6 Mustang altogether. However, this supercharged V6 mustang I can argue is a more modern feeling Buick Grand National. Now the Grand National will always have the better legacy for pioneering American six cylinder performance cars, but this car was no slouch. With over 400 wheel horsepower nothing feels weirder than having this car put you back in the seat. Thanks for watching!

The biggest difference, and an important one, is that the grand national was a high performance version of a plain-jane car. Half of the legacy is that it was a sinister sleeper from the factory. Given that the v6 mustang ( and camaro, and challenger) are cars where a much higher performance version is available, they don’t have a sleeper effect. Its a platform built for more power, rather than a platform built for far less. Thats not to rag on boosted v6’s, but rather to say the comparison doesn’t work for me.

Do they make a eco boost v6 twin turbo for the mustang like the SHO Taurus? If they don't then they should. If they did they would have a problem with ppl buying them and just tuning them to walk the 5.0. I would buy it bc you could make decent power and it would be alot less on your wallet.

(Little back story; I rolled the car after pulling it out of storage and the next day it was freezing rain) back to the point I still have that car and had alot of fun with it when it was new. I've never had to do anything major mechanically and believe it or not it was faster then my my fox 5.0 and some of the stock fox 5.0s on the street due to mostly their power loss in age. I am fixing up that car and preping it for a shelby power train swap but that 4L treated me good even though I still beat the shit out of it.

I did Air raid intake, MBR Exhaust, MPT Tune, and Steeda springs all for like $1500. The problem isn't that the cyclone cars are bad, it's that the GT is just better in every way. And these days an S197 GT is really not that much more than a 3.7. If I had some extra cash I'd pick up an early S550 3.7 to hoon on backroads and a '19 GT to actually build.
