- Come along as my buddy Ken and I fish the Kat Kings Tournament out of Wheeling, WV on the Ohio River. The only thing certain on tournament day is uncertainty! Fortunately the day went well for us. Watch as we get on a pile of fish, hook into a few doubles and I put my new PB on the deck!

I live in Wellsburg, I'm 34. I worked in the tin mill in Weirton, until they decided to shut the entire operation down 8 months ago. I would love to come out with you guys to catch my first flathead . Ive been trying all summer ever single day to the point my wife is pissed. Down stream from Pike Island. We launched at Wheeling Island that day.
can you fish with 4 rods or is there three people in the boat
This was a 6 rod limit tournament in West Virginia waters. I'm from Pennsylvania and we have a 3 rod per person limit, West Virginia however, is unlimited rods

I run Big Cat Fever medium-heavy action rods. Penn Fathom 20 lw reels, 40-50lb mono main line (Slimeline), 80lb leader line (Slimeline Heavy cover leader line), and Maruto 8/0 circle hooks. I have a similar setup. I am new to this large of a setup. Any tips to keep crossing lines minimal or getting tangled? Thank you in advance.
I try to spread out and stagger the baits (long/short). The hard part is remembering where they're all at while you're doing the rod rodeo fighting a fish. Thanks for watching!

Hey how's it going, so glad I ran across you guys I am from wheeling and recently got a boat. I have been out a few times and caught some small flats. Any chance you guys could give me some pointers on good areas on the ohio to target the bigger fish? I know it's hard to give up your spots lol can message you directly on Facebook if you don't want to show. Also what are some good areas to cast net shad. I haven't seen any lately. Thanks!!

Just subscribed. Been fishing over 40 years and finally got a decent boat this year. We live about 45 minutes away from Gallipolis. We went down there once just to run the boat and look at things. I had to upgrade my fish finder and got some contour maps of a couple different river pools so we looked over the maps and did our first trip last Saturday. I think we did pretty good for the first trip we caught 4 flatheads and 1 blue. 2 fish broke 20 pounds. I'll be spending alot of time down there on weekends hopefully I'll run into you guys or we can link up sometime. Great video and awesome day of fishing. Thanks for watching and subscribing! I've fished the Ohio and Kanawha near Gallipolis several times, some great fishing down there. I live about 3.5-4 hrs away but hope to do a weekend trip there this fall. A couple over 20 is a great trip, especially for your 1st! Catfishing, like anything else, you get out what you put into it. @@hammer-downcatfishingwithj7223 well it's not my first catfishing by any means. Just the first time in my boat. We've got a small boat we use for sciioto river and kayaks . I've fished it for many years and caught some real good fish. PB is 43 pound flathead. The sciito is too dangerous and changes too much for a big boat on the areas I fish but it does spill into the Ohio river in Portsmouth. If you get down this way let me know and we will link up.
