This man has such a great Spirit about him. His words of wisdom about our Lord Jesus give me great comfort in times of my doubts. Thank you sir for your obedience to God and His word. Thank you Jesus for saving me!

If you ever doubt, remember this verse, memorize it. 1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
How do you know? Because of how you feel? Because you feel good? No, its because it is written. God cannot lie. Blessings friend

God used a minor illness (and my wife) to encourage me to read Scripture. From there I began a full reading and study of the Bible. That brought me closer to God than I had ever been....and it continues to this day. What was said is very true...we come to Jesus by various paths. The important part is that we come to Him.

WOW! Bob explains the gospel here i about 3 minutes as clearly as i have ever heard it. The Gospel Formula is A+B+C+D. A=by Faith alone B= in Jesus alone C=for eternal life D=you will know your eternal destiny/Assurance. Great job Bob Wilkin!

I am now 78 years old and been a minister for 53 years. My belief is based on the inerrant WORD OF GOD. And yes I am seminary and university educated.... Brother James 🙏🦉

The Holy Spirit pulled me down the aisle at our little baptist church and I believed all of that then spent most my high school years demanding to know from my step dad and all his brothers and family how they expected to get saved and go to heaven? They said we don’t know ask grandma! I said is that what you are going to tell Jesus ask grandma? I began to notice at the Catholic Church which they were that the apostles creed was pretty much the sinners prayer. Then God got cute and sent me my own Catholic priest. I said ok now someone with some answers. My friend I met when he was graduating high school then he went to college then got a diocese then Priest training etc. he was much more righteous before all the priest learning.

    THE CHOSEN --- Matthew 25:35
"'I was hungry then and you give me food to eat, I was thirst and gave water to me, a stranger I was and invited me in, naked and gave clothes to me, sick and visited me, in prison I was and came near to me.’ Then it will be asked of him by the harmless saying, ‘Lord when were you seen hungry and given food by us, or thirsty and given something to drink? When then were you seen a stranger and invited in, or naked and given clothes? When then were you seen sick, or in prison and came near to you?’
Then will answer the king saying to them, ‘Truly I say to you, as it was done to one who is a brother of mine, one who was among the least, to me personally it was done.’"

I get what you mean sir, but with our minimal knowledge of Jesus, we also never knew when the Lord changed our mind and heart to have more wisdom and understanding about him. Remember he is just asking for a tiny bit of faith like a mustard seed for him to work on. Our growing up comes from him because He is the gardiner.

Assurance is of the Essence of Saving Faith - Zane C. Hodges
      ua-cam.com/video/LZ-3vY6VJtI/v-deo.html
What is the difference between saving faith and assurance? Why is the nature of the gospel message, such that when a person believes the biblical gospel, he necessarily has the assurance of eternal salvation?
If a person is not assured of his eternal salvation, then that person is not believing the gospel message of eternal life. Believing something false never saved anybody, although believing a falsehood may give false assurance.
What is saving faith? Is it a persuasion or a decision? Most false professions are made when the decision/process precedes the persuasion.
What does it mean to believe that Jesus is the Christ? It means that Jesus is the guarantor of resurrection and eternal life to everyone who believes in Him. At the moment of saving faith, the believer is sure that he is eternally saved.

@@GESvids Yes, I know Zane C Hodges and I used to own books by him. I've lost almost all of my books of great evangelical christian writers in USA but I could say that I've studied them very well. Through my own experience of sharing and discussing the gospel as christian, I personally concluded that the case of Lydia in Acts 16 is the best example of this ultra complex subject. Yes, a good true christian theologist could claim to understand this but the ultimate 100% judgment as to whose heart will be opened is reseverved to God. No others can. No good christian theologist can ever evaluate Lydia's heart.

Hmmmmm. Doesn't one have to believe other core essentials like His virgin birth, that He was sinless, that He is the second person of the Trinity, that He is fully God/fully man etc. I mean if someone claims to believe in Christ and denies His virgin birth or that He is fully God/fully man or that He is the second person of the Trinity, or believes that Christ died to hand us back dominion so we can go subdue nations, then hasn't that person put their faith in a different Jesus?

That is very true. A person must have knowledge of the Gospel as well as trust in Christ's shed blood to be saved. Just remember, that salvation comes from TRUSTING in Christ's shed blood, not his death. Hebrews 9:11-14.

I point to the thief on the cross. Did the thief on the cross know all of the prophecies that Christ fulfilled or believe that he actually fulfilled them? I would say no, He only acknowledged that Christ was innocent not guilty of the same punishment that he and the other thief were justly receiving, paying the price for their transgressions. He acknowledged that Christ was blameless and was innocent and he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." He believed him to be the Messiah and Christ said today you will be with me in paradise. His death had not come yet, he had not died and rose from the grave yet. That is a very interesting Theological debate in and of itself. The finish work of Christ on the cross had not yet been completed and he made that promise to the thief.

@@greggsingletary9375 I'll do you one better. Love the verse you suggested we read.
Mark 1:15, "And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent ye, and believe the gospel.".
"Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Change your mind and believe the good news. The words "believe the gospel" is telling you what to repent of, not believing the gospel.
The same with Acts 20:21. "Testifying both to the Jews and also to the Greeks, repentance (change your mind) toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." It clearly means you're not believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and you need to change your mind about Him and who He is.
You want to know why you still have a problem with this idea of repenting from sin? You're not reckoning yourself as DEAD to it. Sin is anything contrary to the Word of God. Anything we do that's not of faith is sin.
But when you become a brand new species of being, filled with the Holy Spirit, your OLD MAN IS DEAD to it. Sin does not have power over you anymore. WE HAVE BECOME ALL BRAND NEW BEINGS. We are not afraid of sin when we learn to walk by our spirit man. According to scripture, when we walk by the spirit we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Which means we won't sin against God, amen!!! But, like John says, if we do, we have an advocate, Jesus Christ, Hallelujah!!!
Have you "changed your mind" about sin? Have you learned not to walk according to your flesh? If you are dead to sin, then please help others to "reckon" themselves as dead to it as well. But it sounds like to me that sin still reigns in your members. Be blessed!!!

When chosen, we receive three free things:
    ● A grateful nature, as evidenced by a mental faith and emotional gratitude.
    ● A desire to do only good and beneficial things, as evidenced by good works.
    ● Repentance, a desire to do no harm, as evidenced by undoing the damage done.

"believing in the finished work on the cross" - that is the gospel along with the burial/resurrection. If you do not believe in and are not taught about this, you simply cannot be saved.
Just saying I believe in Jesus as the Messiah without knowing what that means is pointless. The Jews who Jesus was talking to would know what it means to have a Messiah - the one who takes away the sins of the world.
We must believe that as a sinner, Jesus paid for those sins - all of them - on the cross. When we say we believe in Jesus, we must believe in HIS WORK as opposed to our work or any thing else like religion, baptism, etc.
That is what it means to repent - to change your mind about how you are saved - not by your own works but by Christ's finished work on the cross.
I'm sorry Bob. I like a lot of your teaching but your teaching on this and repentance - the two most important issues are flat wrong.
Paul identifies this as the gospel in 1 Cor 15:3-4.

Hi Chris! Yeah I can be a bit combative at times. If I recall, MWilson and I have battled about the KJVOnly issue. I believe it's a silly divisive issue where one side gets to feel all superior to their brothers and so on.
I think that's what we fight about.
But I'm clear on the gospel - well for the most part I think.
Is that what you were referring to? Or was it another video?

Progressive sanctification -- our walk with the Lord, loving others, doing good works, persevering in the faith when persecuted, staying pure, studying to show thyself approved .... All of these things bring either blessing or curses/chastisement in this life and rewards or lack thereof at the Bema judgment seat of Christ. But we are saved when we believe in Jesus for His promise of eternal life.
