For me the Wide Wheel was the sweet spot - got it a couple of weeks ago and I love it. No way I was riding on damaged city streets as a daily commute without a suspension, so the Boosted Rev was out. And while I like the Turbo Wheel, it’s just too big and heavy to be storing in the corner of my office every day. Just doesn’t look ideal for tight spaces, either on the road or in storage. The Wide Wheel has worked out perfectly, and costed much less (preorder was $1,000 for the dual motor version, which was over $600 less than the other two).

They are all great scooters. Just depends what you mainly use it for. If commuting take the turbowheel. If on a budget then the boosted.
If on a budget, and you want something for messing around in then the widewheel is good as it has suspension compared to none on the boosted. I need suspension as the roads are not great where i am so boosted will not do. Ive gone for widewheel as i dont need more than 1000w.

I was deciding between the Zero 10x (same scooter as the turbo lightning), the mercane wide wheel dual, and the boosted rev. I ended up putting a pre order in for the boosted. Although it is slower and has no suspension, I think boosted quality is simply unmatched. I have multiple electric skateboards, some being even more expensive than my boosted and still my boosted is the best and most durable board I have. This is why I made the choice I made.

The lack of suspension at that price bracket is unbelievable, they’re selling to their skateboard market primarily, if you’re into action scooters you’re not going to buy that, even city riding is going to be uncomfortable, and you’re probably end up buying another scooter with suspension in a few years time

@@SharpFitnessLook I was thinking that but at the same time I have a scooter with air tires and it handles bumps pretty well. For me I live on a 4th story walk up apart in NYC and have to carry it up which was another factor.

  • @aqid01

Thanks for this review. I was debating between the boosted rev and the widewheel and completely agree. The booster rev's build quality really spoke to me, the reason I decided against is was the lack of suspension. They really dropped the ball on that one. I just saw a new Lime scooter and even those are getting suspension. Non-suspension scooters will be a thing of the past soon. I love the design of the WideWheel plus the suspension looked more than capable. The one thing I didn't like about that one was the lack of a speedometer and a way to change in-dept settings. Because of your review I found the Zero 10X, which is basically the Turbowheel. I realized that that's really what I want. No compromises anywhere, except for the fact that it's 77lbs. I live in an apt with an elevator though, so even though its a large drawback, it's not really for me. I can just walk it up to my apt. Proud to say, my Zero 10X is on it's way!

One thing to mention about scooters since I noticed it at a glance is the theft protection when not in use. I see two had keys and the boosted had nothing so that could be a definite buy or sell point for someone.

Know what, Micah? I'm stoked I came across your vids. I've been trailing along on an EcoSmart for a few years now. I'm epileptic and have DL issues here in FL because of the disease. I love the stability of my EcoSmart with its 12" wheels. Ever ridden one? It's slow as Santa the day after Xmas, but comfy, even w/o suspension. I'm this close to ordering a TurboWheel Lightning. I've been thru 3 batteries and literally 1000s of miles on the EcoSmart. But 4-6 miles per charge at ~17mph is disheartening. The research on upgrading the EcoSmart leaves a bill of about $1200....worth it or time to advance to more modern tech? I like the big wheels and a basket...but I like fast and fun too. Opinions? Awesome job bro...much respect.

Consider building a lithium ion battery pack for your eco smart. I built a 14ah battery for a local scooter shop. The customer claims he rode it for 3+ hours.

The TWL is a Zero 10x right? The 10x beats them both imo, the suspension power and battery alone, the design as well, with the lights underneath.

The lightning is by far the best value although 40mph is too fast imo, great review and interesting that boosted have finally realised people prefer scooters over skateboards.

I average 7-9 mph on my m365 around downtown and i ride on sidewalk. going full speed at 15mph is dangerous, if I fell I would break my neck or teeth. Plenty of power. I could ride on the street next to regular downtown traffic just fine on m365.

Almost make one of these go on my list of want to have? The main problem is between one's top speed/range and one has dual suspension.

Hey, I’ve been a fan of your channel for a while now and am pleased to say I’ve learnt a lot from you.
I know 2 wheeled transport is your passion but just wondered if you think a tricycle would be a interesting project or even something you would ever be willing to take on. I think due to the shape and design I’d imagine you could possibly find a way of adding a much larger battery pack which if balanced right to overcome the extra weight could allow you to maybe get a much greater range along with a more comfortable relaxed on road ride.

The video is a nice video however I'm giving it a thumbs down as this is not an apples-to-apples comparison...
The turbo wheel is in a different class category than the boosted and the wide wheel. If you were to eliminate the turbo wheel and just do a two scooter comparison on the wide wheel and the boosted then you'd be more of an apples-to-apples review as these two scooters are in the same class category.
Aside from that a very well put together video

Product support, build quality, repairability, longevity... I'll stick with boosted... a solid company. Boosted cares about their reputation and that's worth the extra $

I agree with you about quality and reputation but for me the speed is all that talks, I would go with the lighting 40mph, boosted Rev is rated at 24mph

You really can’t compare these two scooters with the turbowheel in terms of ride quality in all circumstances from performance to safety. Though, if you can’t lift it, it may not be for you. If you don’t have to lift it (garage, elevator, ramps) you will definitely want the lightning. There are many other factors to consider such as geometry, adjustments for electronic features (cruise control, etc.), ease of changing flats is a big one, stem issues, maintenance and repairs, etc., etc.

Battery on boosted doesn’t charge all the way so it’s regen braking doesn’t stop working if you start out going down hill. Same reason for it’s skateboard (and other brands).

  • @michaelcuneo374

Sure, the Turbowheel is heavy, but this is a scooter after all. Like you’re not going to be hauling a scooter around everywhere, and if you are... well you’re doing it wrong. The turbo wheel is by far the superior option.

I would want to buy one of these scooters in the near future but I'm worried about the scooter breaking. What if the battery goes bad and are they built to be water proof? The batteries are expensive too. Is there a way to properly maintain the battery so it last a long time?
