I purchased my wide wheel pro based on your previous review. I like the way your explain every detail with pros and cons and real criticism so all brands improve their scooters. As they did with the wide wheel pro it feels so good riding to work. I like the solid rubber wheels that means never a flat tire. And hills are no problem. Powerful scooter for the money around $1,100 . I get compliments on the Manhattan streets like that’s a cool looking scooter yeah it’s a bad ass thanks.
Have you had any problems riding it in the rain ? I always see this in the reviews as the main criticism but I think as long as you're careful it should be OK.
How is it holding up? How does it handle the streets in the City. I'm looking for a solid commuter to go over the Queensborough Bridge and have narrowed it down to the WW, Apollo City, Zero9 and Levy Plus. This is going to be my first scooter so any advice would be great. Thanks
I have a mercane wide wheel scooter and your review is very accurate. This is a powerful scooter designed for pavement. Actually, given its weight and aluminum construction this is more like a proper 'electric vehicle'. The wheel profile tends to pitch the scooter upright which creates stability in a forward direction. The wheels are not meant for noodling around in little circles but for covering ground like riding a moped. Just think of the widewheel as an electric motorcycle that has been squished down into the shape of a scooter.
For me, I'd go with Zero 9. -Weighs less -Higher weight capacity -Slightly more top speed/range -More stylish with the leds -Cheaper ($989 w/ 10% off) -More deck space -Pneumatic tires (add slime) -Amazing customer support With the extra $200 you save, you can get a nice helmet. (From Ruroc or other manufacturers)
You guys do a great job with these reviews. I appreciate all the testing you do. Acceleration numbers and the hill climb are great for comparison shopping. You are probably the best Scooter review channel on UA-cam. If you are looking for ways to provide more content (you can only review them as fast as they make em, right?) maybe you could do some repair/troubleshooting/aftermarket upgrades. I'd watch it.
I can certainly testify to the performance of my Apollo City Scooter (A Zero 9 with different branding.) vs a Mercane Widewheel Pro. I was started climbing a bridge in NYC last week when a Widewheel came zipping by. But when I reached the apex of the bridge which is a long flat run before the down hill side, I was able to catch up rapidly and eventually overtook the widewheel before reaching the end of the bridge. So the speed is definitely there. Just not the power. Twin 500s vs one 600. When deciding between the purchase of the two last fall, I can say I am glad I went with the Apollo (Zero 9). Decent speed and power, in a much lighter package.
Great review Chuck! I don’t think the point can be nailed home enough that electric scooters are the ultimate COVID19 transportation devices. I have the Zero 9 and love it. The widewheel is more than a formidable competitor for about $300.00 more. Just the same the LED lights and larger deck and THE SERVICE FROM REV RIDES is reason enough to go ZERO SERIES. Get a higher end Zero if you want more wild. They offer it! And make sure to buy it from Rev Rides.
Yea Chuck Temple it was very good , nice format , very informative in a nice package of time , straight to the point , specs and stats were very nice and the change up in days was also a nice surprise to see it on a Friday , keep it going man 🙌🏻
@Marley Moore I agree with you. But there is a solution I already did and now is perfect. You need to buy this throttle on AliExpress, quite cheap but don't Install it. Just open inside and take out the sensor(connected to end of cable) and put it inside the original throttle now you have control even on very low speeds and power is still there to push. An extra area to discuss is wet weather durability. Lots of us live in cool/wet climates and that’s a big deal for safety reasons too, and off road. I’m planning to purchase for use on my local golf course with a carry golf bag. Finally type if kick stand is good to know. Thanks you have a new subscriber!
i just got the cle version. although every review ive watched on this scooter has been accurate none mention some important things about this scooter. 1: its freaking huge and bulky. its like a tank or the suv of scooters. at 56lbs this beast is not commuter friendly in the sense that its just too dam big and heavy its awful to try and carry this on the train or bus you will piss someone off including yourself. 2: you can tell the people who made this had no clue what they were doing. for every good thing something contradicts it. the wide wheels are pointless and are just terrible they hinder the power of this scooter. the wheels have zero traction i mean zero. anything and everything makes the wheels lose grip and you feel like you one wrong move from falling. things like the painted street lines or uneven surfaces make the wheels skip and stutter. it functions in the rain but again slippery. i dont understand why they couldnt give the wheels deeper tread for grip and instead gave it what amounts to extremely worn out tires. its dangerous considering the speed of this thing. 3: this scooter is a rocket it simply wants to take off in a straight line. theres no middle ground its fast or slow period. the speed with those awful tires is an accident waiting to happen. the kickstand is a skinny terrible thing that can barely hold the scooter. the hand grips are terrible they hurt your hands and the handlebars are too skinny for big hands. if you forget how fast this scooter is and press the throttle without a good grip on the handlebars you will fall off real bad. the brakes on the handlebars are too big and far off its awkward and difficult to hold the bar and keep some fingers on the breaks theres basically no bell the one it comes with is pathetic and useless. i swear they made this thing so you can kill yourself. its power and speed is the only good thing. honestly consider far better options for your commute.
I bought the WW Pro. I think it's a bloody good scooter for that price. No range anxiety and no hills anxiety. I get blokes coming up to me that it looks like a batmobile
i hope we soon see the apollo pro reviewed on this channel. u r the best and 1 of the very few unbiased content producers. im curious to see what the apollo pro can do, specifically in terms of top speed and range. i actually just received mine today but i am unable to perform extensive performance tests as it is too cold in toronto for prolonged rides. im very interested as to what the pro can do around your course. im sure apollo would agree to that as you have already reviewed the explore and its a damn good scooter.
Useful vid as always! Loving the consistent methodical approach to your reviews. Just a question/suggestion, are all these electric scooters easy to roll around when folded? I plan on purchasing one and would need to take them on board subway trains for a combo commute. Problem is, the rules here require electric scooters be folded up from the moment one enters a station and it'd be a pain to have to carry most of these scooters all the way from station to station. It would be good if the "portability" sections in your reviews can also demonstrate how easy or hard it would be to drag any of these scooters around while folded. Anyhow, hope you can get back to reviewing more scooters soon!
The Turbowheel Swift has little trolly wheels for that, though it still looks like it would be uncomfortable to pull around because you have to bend over.
The Wide Wheel is definitely a great commuter...I just received my 2019 version and your right the power on take-off is incredible...🔥🔥...It does take time to get use to the Wider wheels, i.e turning and stuff like that but once you get the hang of it, its fun. Also, its definitely an eye catcher with it motor cycle stylish look from the back of it...👍💯
Just a tip. Please be consistent in placing the frames. If you place the Zero 9 on the left side, please place it on the left side all throughout the video.
I have the 2019 Widewheel modified to pro, with front brake, and upgraded both esc to 35AMP 1000W each, 2 batteries, both running 52V, it can burn both tries when I take off with 3rd Gear, Love the widewheel as always.
The reason zero 9 doesnt lock proparly is so that you can lift the scooter while riding to go over bumps just like how you would on a bike to do a wheelie
UA-cam been looking out for you, you been popping up in my recommendations. I’ve been looking at electric scooters. Recently purchased the gotrax XR. I subbed Keep up the great work / content Thanks 🙏
Hi I’m a new subscriber and have been watching your awesome reviews for last few days. I’m about ready to pull trigger on a scooter and have narrowed it down to the Zero 9 and the Apollo City. They seem so similar but Apollo is cheaper. I wish there was a comparison video with these 2 head to head but can’t find any. You’ve reviewed them separately. Is the Zero 9 worth the extra $200? Which did you like better? Any feedback would be great before I buy. Thank you and love the work you do!!! 👍
The market seems to be evolving quickly and prices being very competitive. I purchased the zero 9 couple months ago but not had a great chance to use it that much because of current lock down. However the new zero 10X with 60v LG batteries and hydraulic brakes looks very interesting, also the new kaabo 60v with mini motors controller and display. Choices to make later this year maybe.
Hi Chuck, I read your helmet guide and looked through the database, but there isn’t a ton of information on e-bike helmets. I decided to buy an ABUS Pedelec 2.0 to use for both my Mercane WW Pro and my bike, but I was wondering... How could an e-bike helmet be safer than a Halo style helmet with a chin bar?
We base the database on the certification ratings, and downhill helmets are actually rated for less speed than ebike or motorcycle. If you are looking at a halo helmet see what certification it complies with - which will relate to the speed of testing. And absolutely go for chin bar if you can.
Can you do a Nanrobot Lightning vs Mercane WW vs Hero X8 vs Apollo Ghost? Can't seem to find many Nanrobot Lightning comparisons outside of to its D6+ sibling.
ugh!! i dont know which one to get! also i do have a question that has been bugging me for a while now. on a solid tire like the widewheel, what happens when the tire wears out? how do you replace it since its connected to the motor itself? thanks
Nice comparison! My kid is going to be all over me about one of these, he's probably more of a Zero 9 fan at this point but the "snapping heads back, most powerful scooter in its price" factor is going to have him debating himself! BUT.... for any kind of BEACH riding... still not sold! Thanks Chuck and Team COOL VID!
Could you do a Zero 9 Vs. Uscooters (E-Twow) GT review? They're the same price / similar specs and have an interesting lists of pro's vs. cons. Choosing between these two scooters seems to be a hot topic in the UK. Thanks for the video!
The zero 9 totally crushes the e twow in every possible ways, so the choice is simple and no need to do a vs vidéo. If the z9 is not too heavy and big for you, go for it. They don't compete in the same league.
Thank you for your time and effort.... without you i'd never know whats what in the giant market of e-scoots (although im in the UK and some of the models are not available)... the widewheel and zero models are sold here BUT are out of stock with the only 2 sellers here LOL... the US is soooo much better for buying any product.

Hey Chuck, is the widewheel in ur video the CLE model with key lock ignition? Just curious, u said it was $1299, and I believe the 2020 model is this price, as the 2019 model is without ignition, and $999.00. so is the ONLY difference 3 letters (CLE), and ignition?
debating too get zero 9 or Apollo City scooter? Can someone help? Im not a tech buff... I've owned a M365 for over a year and want to upgrade. Please Let me know Much appreciated. I live In NYC
The apollo city is the same with some added quality checking, better metal, ip rating and different color. I will get the Zero 9 since there is a Zero shop here in Sweden but no Apollo. You can make it water resistant yourself with silicone
I just order a wide wheel pro from fluidfreeride a coupe of days ago and am expecting the package tomorrow, can’t wait to take it out! I’m mainly a cyclist and runner but these look soo fun I need to get in on this. Your reviews helped me a lot with my decision to get the wide wheel pro, I won’t be commuting to work on it though because I’m in Southern California and work assignments are often to far but this will fit easily in my hatchback so I can take it anywhere.
I went widewheel pro . I got mines for $1100 with helmet , phone charger holder, facemask, tactical gloves with the knuckle protection , the kneck bluetooth speaker sits on your shoulder and im ready for it . Lucky you , i still got 10 more days to wait . Your gonna have a blast i bet.
Be careful, they slide out really easily. I crashed mine and messed up my shoulder pretty bad. Be gentle with the cap for charging port, the rubber tears easily. Get some loctite ready so you can fix certain screws into place (handle bars and main stem). Watch the brakes. :-)
Janobike T10 - biggest bang for your buck. You are skipping max load in all the reviews. WideWheel has a wobbly handlebar (to be replaced), lack of fender extensions (to be added), side panels on suspension levers falling off due to vibration (to be reinforces with M3 screws with washers), suspension springs need grease (getting rusted). WideWheel is for light riders under 100kg. I got it for $600 second hand and wouldn't pay more.
My zero 9 can't go over 40kph. Is there something wrong with my scooter? I weight around 78kg and the tires have the proper bar pressure so I dont understand why this is? Most people ive seen and talked to say they can max out 45kph. Also there is no speed block on my scooter ive checked all the cables
Hello, I bought an open box Qiewa Qmini and the scooter came DOA (dead on arrival) the scooter won’t charge at all. What is the issue? Can someone help me? Thanks
The cap for the charging port on the widewheel is useless. After 4 weeks mine basically doesn't close anymore, no idea what I'm going to do riding to work in the rain.
If your charging port cap won’t stay closed anymore here’s the solution. Put a little bit of bluetack under the edge of the lid where the tab is and it will stay closed perfectly.
I was talking to the sellers today asking abput both of these scooters, and all he could say is, i dont want to see that trash widewheel in my service anymore, and he said he quit selling them because they are bad quality overall. So i guess ill believe him athough i like it more than Zero 9. I guess 10x is the best choice!
Great review! I've been eyeing the WWPro and been looking at all the reviews i can find here in YT. I love its performance and minimalist/classy appearance. The Zero 9, though a nice scooter as well, looks tacky with its lights all over. hehe =P #justsaying
1:10 you explain this has 1000 Watts and go on to say this is the most in its price... Other generic scooters are also 1000 Watts and about half the price
Well, ESG reviews electric scooters that are made by reputable companies with dependable after-sale service and support. No problem you can buy the cheaper 1000 watts scooters at half-price but do not complain if the thing stuff up with no after-sale support when you need it.

I live In NYC
bought the zero 9
We have only reviewed the Zero 9, but absolutely love it! geni.us/1pdf49
edwina ramade : Get the ZERO 9 From Rev Rides you will not be disappointed. Their service is 1st class.
Philip Rosenthale yup that’s what I did .
The apollo city is the same with some added quality checking, better metal, ip rating and different color. I will get the Zero 9 since there is a Zero shop here in Sweden but no Apollo.
You can make it water resistant yourself with silicone
How about doing a review on the Weped SS series
:-)
@@armstrongrodriguez3030 Price you got from Fluidfreeride? or alieExpress?
@@newbie101 apollo scooters in canada .
Its a big canadien resource . Good sale reps . I got 2 year warranty so not worried about anything
I just don't like the design of the widewheel. Never have. The tapered edges of the deck just doesn't make any sense.
No mention of pot holes or uneven roads?
How about a 3 way Showdown between the Emove Cruiser, Zero 10, Skywalker 10S+??? all at the exact same price point!
I was thinking about buying but between these two is the better one?
Janobike T10 - biggest bang for your buck. You are skipping max load in all the reviews. WideWheel has a wobbly handlebar (to be replaced), lack of fender extensions (to be added), side panels on suspension levers falling off due to vibration (to be reinforces with M3 screws with washers), suspension springs need grease (getting rusted). WideWheel is for light riders under 100kg. I got it for $600 second hand and wouldn't pay more.
Was the Mercane in full power mode? for the top speed test.
Nice Doug Demuro impression at the start
Do they free wheel also? Or no power... no go?
Can you share the battery ah/wh sizes too because there are a few variants for both z9 n wwp.
I like Zero 9. How about a triple-header review Zero 10X vs Kaabo Mantis vs Inokim OXO.
My zero 9 can't go over 40kph. Is there something wrong with my scooter? I weight around 78kg and the tires have the proper bar pressure so I dont understand why this is? Most people ive seen and talked to say they can max out 45kph. Also there is no speed block on my scooter ive checked all the cables
what is average longevity of such scooters in term of mileage
Main thing I m
Looking in scooter is smooth ride, with smooth dual suspensions.
Mercane does not have a smooth suspension
Would love to see the new nanrobot d6+ review
Hello, I bought an open box Qiewa Qmini and the scooter came DOA (dead on arrival) the scooter won’t charge at all. What is the issue? Can someone help me? Thanks
Maybe the zero 10 would have been a better comparison. Only $100 more than the wide wheel pro and also 1000 watt motor.
I got both Zero 9 (wife) and Nanrobot D+5 for me.
How much is the discount on the WW Pro after the electric-scooter.guide coupon? website says not valid.
Sorry about that, the coupon is actually : ESG4WWPRO100 and its $100 dollars off
a more corect comparison is the zero 8x vs mercane whidewheel as they both have wide solid tires
Correct! Thanks for the insight.
Great comparison! What helmet do you recommend for Wide Wheel Pro?
There so many lol, but I went for a smart helmet.. lumos matrix. 🔥 Check it out. The luvell helmet pretty cool as well.
Widewheel sold me on the thumb throttle, no flat tires, dual motors, and wide wheels.
I got a thumb throttle on my Zero 9 it cost about $100 more to add from Revrides
The cap for the charging port on the widewheel is useless. After 4 weeks mine basically doesn't close anymore, no idea what I'm going to do riding to work in the rain.
Also, the screws on the handle bars and the stem (?) come undone constantly - I'm going to loctite them in as soon as the shops open again.
Also, water flicks up from the back wheel and soaks my back riding in the wet.
And the brakes are almost non existent, even though I've adjusted them.
@@jaredarmstrong1805 I thought the 2020 model has these issues resolve?
Jared Armstrong I tighten mine and so it rides like new even after 2,000km. Stop being a loser.
If your charging port cap won’t stay closed anymore here’s the solution. Put a little bit of bluetack under the edge of the lid where the tab is and it will stay closed perfectly.
I see more Mercanes for sale than the Zero. Wondering if it's a quality issue or what?
I was talking to the sellers today asking abput both of these scooters, and all he could say is, i dont want to see that trash widewheel in my service anymore, and he said he quit selling them because they are bad quality overall. So i guess ill believe him athough i like it more than Zero 9. I guess 10x is the best choice!
26mph is just too slow once you experience the Kaabo Mantis 10 Pro that can reach 47mph
IMO Anything over 40kph (=26mph) is dangerously fast on a scooter, especially in traffic
I surely don't want to go 47 mph on a scooter. Very dangerous..
Worth it!
For sure!
Waiting on mine zero 9 ups taking for ever
Got mine in 3 weeks. Longest 3 weeks of my life lol

Great review! I've been eyeing the WWPro and been looking at all the reviews i can find here in YT. I love its performance and minimalist/classy appearance. The Zero 9, though a nice scooter as well, looks tacky with its lights all over. hehe =P #justsaying
Exactly, you’re spot on
1:10 you explain this has 1000 Watts and go on to say this is the most in its price...
Dual motor
Regarding that the wide wheel is not available in my country, the choice is way easier for me :)))
Haha so true!
The wide wheels you can unlock the speed up to 42 mph
That’s interesting! How ?
thumbs-Up and subscribed
Thanks
