@Caaak Yerada Actually, I am an Egyptian of Arabian origins and, in fact, all the families that migrated from Arabia to Egypt 900-1400 years ago know each other very well and we know how many we are. We're not as many as you might think. Egyptians are Egyptians. And - by the way - even as Arabian-Egyptian no one here considered me less of an Egyptian than they are. I AM a full Egyptian. Authentic Greek food only in Greece and Greek taverns. Also, mostly in our homes. Our street food while it's top-notch, in every country I visited it was slightly different. due to the ingredients they're able to find in said countries. Our Gyros is specifically well, thinly sliced pork, unless you ask for chicken. Souvlaki is the stick of pork meat also into pita, like gyros. Our bakeries for breakfast after morning/evening at the beach and night at night club, when it starts getting morning you visit our bakeries. The smell alone will make your belly complain. The variety, fresh ingredients and a lot of work we put on our food, deserves first place, although always come second only after Italy cause of their Pizza and Pasta. We Greek are also second in pasta consumption with Feta cheese.
Greeks almost ONLY say OPA when something really unxpected occurs. It used to be said also during some traditional dances, but the custom has faded a bit.
The Lebanese girl who keeps saying the food is similar it’s because Greek and Lebanese people have been in contact for thousands of years. We are neighbors. From the Phoenicians and Greeks doing trade and influencing each other to both being under Roman rule and more recently Ottoman rule. Our foods are very similar as well as the cultures (especially the Greek Orthodox Lebanese people and the Greek islanders / Cypriots)
I’m Greek and I’m surprised the street food I eat everyday has all this history. I always thought of it as just street food with probably 100 year old recipes. They should also try the Greek version of cheesecake (some claim it is the original cheesecake before the American one). Christmas delicacies such as kourampiedes and melomacarona. Also our coffee menu: Classic Greek coffee, or since Greece is a hot country they can try our alternative specialties: Frappe (ice coffee), Freddo Espresso (ice espresso) and Freddo Cappuccino (ice cappuccino). Perfect for a beach day! Also: FISH IN A CONE??! Που το πουλάνε αυτό ρε μάγκες; Πρώτη φορά το ακούω!!

There is even a chain devoted to thst (koulourades) with sweet option too. I am not a fun of koukouri in general but when I have some it is accompanied with something
For all delusional Turks , Arabs , Iraqis or whatever with a few clicks u can see ... Loukoumades are Greek doughnuts which have a round, golden appearance. Made using flour and salt, and dressed with honey syrup and cinnamon, they are very popular in Greek cooking. The dessert first originated in Ancient Greece, where they were called "honey tokens" and were awarded to winning Olympic athletes. - Koulouri It was introduced under the name “Koulouri Thessalonikis” because it was originally made in Thessaloniki by Greek refugee bakers. It's story starts from Byzantium, the word Koulouri comes from the Byzantine kollikion and was popular mainly in Istanbul and Thessaloniki. - Gyros is a food item of Greek origin[5] made from meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie and served wrapped or stuffed in pita bread, along with ingredients such as tomato, onion, fried potatoes, and tzatziki. In Greece, it is normally made with pork[6] or sometimes with chicken, whilst beef and lamb are also used in other countries. Keep being salty .
@Caaak Yerada Lokma means mouthful in ARABIC, and that's where you get the word from. Don't even know your own language, pathetic. Luqmat al-Qadi, is a 13th century Arabic dish which you picked up coming through from Mongolia. Keep telling me that the Turks invented cooking meat on a stick though. I mean, the Byzantines, who's cities you live in, were eating rich cuisines before the Ottomans arrived - do you think that maybe we share aspects of the same cuisine because of Geography; or do you honestly think tUrKs InVenTeD iT. LOL
Also mentioning something wrong your country did and making fun of the tragedies other countries went through because of your ancestors doesn't really put a good name on you OR your country
@Caaak Yerada also just to educate u some more and feel ashamed . Did u know that greeks were the first people living in modern day turkey ? huh yep , after 2,500 years the mdoern day turks came to the land . So settle down son .
Dude in 5:43 clearly doesn't know that here in Greece we eat koulouri with feta cheese so no my man you didn't disrespect anything you were right on the money.
That tyropita is frozen. Even in Greece now is difficult to find fresh one. But if you find is ten time better. Another variety is Bougatsa. Even better than tyropita. Also koulouri if its fresh is very good (you can find it in Aristotelous Square at 07:00) We greeks don’t eat “fish in a cone”. We eat that when we go in a taverna with other dishes like tarama and octopus, drinking usually ouzo. In Gyro the G is not silent. Oh and we don’t say OPA. Opa actually means “stop” so we use OPA when we want to say to someone to stop (e.g. when someone is trying to park his car and gets very close to the wall).
I'm in Greece now, I have visited Athens,Naxos and I'm currently in Milos. My favourite dishes so far are the Souvlaki, the Moussaka and the cheese pie
Try also pastitsio. It’s best advantage is that if you can taste it super hot you will fell totally in love with it. For some next day cold is even better. Isn’t that weird?

Greek here: Dolmades or Dolmadakia (little dolmades) are usually eaten for dinner/lunch Tiropita is the best breakfast, usually enjoyed with chocolate milk but for the love of god DO NOT STAY OUTSIDE AFTER YOU'VE COMBINED THOSE 2 YOU MIGHT NEED THE TOILET IN THE NEXT 30 MINUTES Koulouri, another great breakfast, usually enjoyed with coffee or chocolate milk. You're safe if you mix. Usually Fish in a cone, never had any. Not a thing in the north from where I'm from. The fish are usually sardines, fried. Really enjoyable with a drop of lemon Gyros, the holy grail, best emergency dinner in case you don't have time to cook and the day is ending and you're hungry. Usually with bread or pita, tzatziki is yoghurt with cucumber and sometimes garlic. No it is not like a Taco, DO NOT COMPARE GYRO WITH TACO! you might offend both parties. DO NOT EAT IT LIKE A TACO, IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT! EAT IT LIKE YOU'D EAT A REGULAR SANDWICH! YOU'VE OFFENDED MOST GREEKS WITH THAT Loukoumades, on every festival, you'll find plenty of stalls that make loukoumades. Do have water with you close by, you will be dehydrated if you eat 3-5. They're very very sweet. Don't eat a lot in one go, it's not fun.
The fish cone is nothing near a traditional case of street food in Greece. It got to be a trend at some point between 2000-2010 but to my perception it failed right off. That much that you have to try a lot anymore to find a place that offers such stuff. There are restaurants that specialize in fish and seafood which are served and accompanied with ouzo or tsipouro but that's a whole another story.
For the information I am Greek and about gyros... Yeah it is NOT a sandwich NOT a hotdog and NOT a taco it just souvlaki, there is no connection with the other ones

Tbh, I open my koulouri up and stuff it with some nice, salty cheese, so, you did not disrespect us there
Glad everyone enjoyed our food!
There is even a chain devoted to thst (koulourades) with sweet option too. I am not a fun of koukouri in general but when I have some it is accompanied with something
@@MsMinoula I'm aware of the chain, they have a cream cheese stuffed koulouri with bacon that I really love!
Glad you liked our food! Btw even tho im greek i have never seen a fish in a cone before.
As a greek I have never seen fish in cone so they probably found one fish and chips shop and they thought its "traditional street food"

Koulouri It was introduced under the name “Koulouri Thessalonikis” because it was originally made in Thessaloniki by Greek refugee bakers. It's story starts from Byzantium, the word Koulouri comes from the Byzantine kollikion and was popular mainly in Istanbul and Thessaloniki.

Gyros is a food item of Greek origin[5] made from meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie and served wrapped or stuffed in pita bread, along with ingredients such as tomato, onion, fried potatoes, and tzatziki. In Greece, it is normally made with pork[6] or sometimes with chicken, whilst beef and lamb are also used in other countries.
Keep being salty .
@Caaak Yerada typical turkey…
LOL
Literally all three mentioned above have a meaning in greek and are words that existed before the food was even invented.
Im from greece and i can confirm that some well made dolmades can completely change your day in good way
As a greek , i am really proud of Greece anf happy that you guys liked it!!!!
Also koulouri if its fresh is very good (you can find it in Aristotelous Square at 07:00)
We greeks don’t eat “fish in a cone”.
The way the narrator pronounces the greek words is killing me internally rn 💀
Greek food is awesome and im glad these guys love it
I'm in Greece now, I have visited Athens,Naxos and I'm currently in Milos.
My favourite dishes so far are the Souvlaki, the Moussaka and the cheese pie
Try also pastitsio. It’s best advantage is that if you can taste it super hot you will fell totally in love with it. For some next day cold is even better. Isn’t that weird?
@@Rousseau4469 got it, thx for the recommendation
Sharon and Jair together are my favorite!
They immediately turned into Xena!😂😂

Από πότε τρώμε Fish in A Cone και δεν το ξέρω?
Υπαρχει περιπου εδω και μια 3ετια τουλαχιστον απ'οσο ξερω, αλλά δεν ειναι και τοσο γνωστό. Και εγω έμεινα λίγο γιατί δεν είναι τοσο "ξακουστό", αλλά οκ....we roll with it
Αυτό! Και έλεγα "από πότε φτιάχνουμε τυλιχτο με ψάρια 🤣🤣

As a greek I have to say that the gyros you ate is mid, who the f puts lettuce and feta in there
@MariaArtemis Prouska I stated that I am a greek so I do come from greece
As a Greek I can be grateful that Americans like our food and pastries
Greek here:
Dolmades or Dolmadakia (little dolmades) are usually eaten for dinner/lunch
Tiropita is the best breakfast, usually enjoyed with chocolate milk but for the love of god DO NOT STAY OUTSIDE AFTER YOU'VE COMBINED THOSE 2 YOU MIGHT NEED THE TOILET IN THE NEXT 30 MINUTES
Koulouri, another great breakfast, usually enjoyed with coffee or chocolate milk. You're safe if you mix. Usually
Fish in a cone, never had any. Not a thing in the north from where I'm from. The fish are usually sardines, fried. Really enjoyable with a drop of lemon
Gyros, the holy grail, best emergency dinner in case you don't have time to cook and the day is ending and you're hungry.
YOU'VE OFFENDED MOST GREEKS WITH THAT
Loukoumades, on every festival, you'll find plenty of stalls that make loukoumades.
There are restaurants that specialize in fish and seafood which are served and accompanied with ouzo or tsipouro but that's a whole another story.
trust me.. all these food you tried, try them by an actual greek restaurant in greece.... WAAAY different. much more tastier.
Happy that you guys tried all these tastes. It is forbidden to die if you have not tasted Greek food.
Also watching your video made me hungry and i ordered gyros.
she tried to eat gyro like a taco 💀💀💀💀💀
Fr💀💀
Fish in a cone IN NOT A TYPICAL STREET FOOD in Greece, at all
well i am as greek as it gets but i wonder where you got the said fish in a cone..
1:24 I’m impressed that Zaria noticed the difference between Grecian and Lebanese grape leaves! That’s awesome 👏🏽
Fish in a cone? I live in Greece 19 years,, I've never seen it before
malaka όπου εσύ στα βουνά. ότι τα ψάρια είναι παντού στην πόλη
@@elipav484 εγώ ζω στην Ρόδο και εδώ δεν τα έχω δει ποτέ.
