Well vizantio (modern name Istanbul) is a Greek city that founded in 7 century BC from vizanta the king of the Megara and ottomans- Turks conquer it in 1453 so yes is Greek food.
I am from the Black Sea so prefer the Greek Island food rather than mainland. Love seafood especially anchovies, sardines and it taste so good in Greek Islands.
Lots of love for Greek food it's always been our family favorite. Love from Turkiye ❤

The mix of Coca Cola and Retsina is called Toumba Libre in Thessaloniki because it took it's name from Toumba Stadium (the stadium of PAOK). It's the favorite drink of PAOK fans and that's how it got it's name! Great vlog and i hope you will be able to revisit Thessaloniki because it has so much more stuff to explore!

Harriet and i always enjoy Greek food. We never got to Thessaloniki. Hopefully sooner than later we will get there among other cities in Greece and the Islands. Oddly, as much as i enjoy Greek food . 11:16 that was not baklava:P more like kantaifi. Also baklava originates from modern day turkey geographically yes, but back in the day it was greek populated:P
Baklava is still a turkish thing, and not Hellenic, which is also totally irrelevant if Minor Asia were populated with Hellenes in the past.

The awnings are also very prevalent in Monaco and places where the Summer's hot Sun shines right onto peoples' homes, businesses and etc. They provide brilliant, epic shade, really. They ARE necessary.

I live in Thessaloniki but I am from Crete. The food here is sooo tasty! Next time you better try trigona from someone who fills the crusty part with custard cream the time you order the sweet and do not take it ready.
Instanbul was Constadinopole back in years but when Othomans ruled it it got a different name . So Byzantium was Greek and baklava was also Greek
I can say that baklava is greek because Byzantium was greek because of the dailect and the culture
So Retsina (Malamatina is the brand) resembles alot to Champagne but without the sparkles. You can combine it with Coke (Coca Cola) or Soda Water (for neutral flavour). My dad was adding drops of lemon to add some acidic flavouring but i havent tryed it so i dont have an opinion on it!
Next time tou visit Greece or SKG specifically, try Choureal (great desserts) and Goodys (the Greek opponent of McDonalds but on the more natural side.

I was in Thessaloniki and Chalkidiki from 30 june to 25 Juli and drank 2-3 a day and let's not talk about the number of gyros! 😂
We just drank boring old iced americanos🥹😭. Wish we knew about it earlier!😂. OMG let’s not speak about how many gyros we ate. It’s insane😂

Byzantium was Greek . And the city was named Konstantinoupol after the emperor Konstantine . Was Greek - Roman nothing to do with Turkey. Turkey just got it thousands of years later and renamed it Instabul. I love that u enjoyed Greek cousine ;) i think its the best in the world and Italian 2nd :P

More than half of your so-called Greek cuisine consists of Turkish dishes. yoghurt, baklava, tzatziki, gyros (doner), dolma-des, lokma-des, revani, moussaka, “greek” coffe (Turkish coffee) and this list goes on.

Baklava is a dessert that emerged in the Ottoman palace cuisine. It has nothing to do with Byzantium or the Greeks. I'm not sure what they give you as baklava, but I'm sure it's not baklava 😂
Well if you search κοπτοπλακούς its the very first version of baklava and was made by Cretans 3000 years ago. The todays version was established during the Ottoman times but there was something similar in Greece for many many years before Turks came to Anatolia
