Nothing pisses me off more then getting dressed and getting in my car and going to GameStop only to stand there and watch the employee help people on the phone instead of helping me.
Crazy somebody would be so brazenly lying like that. It would almost have me questioning whether he'd taken a different call about NWC that day. Highly unlikely though. I'd be voting with my wallet, VB and never set foot in the place again.
Probably had a million people ask him about NWC to the point where he couldn't hold in the frustration anymore. Or maybe something happened with the call line while he had you on hold and he couldn't hear you.
A friend of mine who lives in Chile, out of the country who plays FFXIV with me. He plays the game through steam and pays his sub with his steam wallet. Back in 2022 in the beginning of the year, Chile had something akin to a civil war going on where their currency wasn't able to be used without conversion to usd through another means. As a kind of a nice thing to do, I told him I would buy him a steam card like a $50 one or w/e. Anything to pay his subscription so we can continue to play together since its P2P. I went to 8.... 8 Different Gamestops in South Jersey. 3 around Deptford in my hometown. Went to the one in Somerdale, the one in West Berlin, the one in Clementon, then I went to Audubon, lastly Turnersville. I literally drove all over putting 100 miles on my car. I'd call each place and they said they have them. I get there "Oh sorry our inventory errored, we have none." They all share the same local inventory. After driiving around for hours in traffic. eventually the one in Locust Grove Plaza in my home town calls me back while I'm in Turnersville. "We just got a shipment of cards in" I run back and FINALLY got a card. Like it wasn't even just asking for a 50 dollar card. I was asking for ANY steam card of ANY VALUE.. All of them had none. You think in the age of PC gaming and steam being one of the top used pc platforms, They would have cards on hand like always?
Again It’s just weird that I never had bad experiences with GameStop (not even like 1 time), heck even some of the employees are nice and chill. Mabye it’s just you
Yeah, Best Buy is now the same way when it comes to selling a lot of toys or stuffed animals. They still have games there (at least some you may care about, anyway), and they completely scrapped their movies and music section. It sucks, but I guess that's how times are now, unfortunately. I really couldn't care less about GameStop, honestly. Whenever I get games, I try to go to other stores after I almost got screwed over when Kirby and the Forgotten Land came out for the Switch. There's a whole slew of games I'm looking to pick up like Mario & Luigi Brothership, Epic Mickey Rebrushed, and Super Mario Party Jamboree. I'm really not in the mood to deal with GameStop's bs when the time comes for those games.
The employees at the gamestop I go to, are really nice and friendly. There was one time in 2014 when smash bros for wii u came out and there was a mexican guy working there (I'm mexican/american) and I asked him if he had the gamecube adapters and he told me that they were sold out. 5 minutes later and another employee was on the register and I asked him if he had the adapters and told me that they do, sold the adapters to a cousin and me and the other employee was mad.
I have the same experience back then but this employee is like so lazy just put you unhold and yet there he is making up excuses to make himself feel important likre just quit your job don't get attitude problem I would ask for the manager or different employee instead of him.
@@vanburen20 Tell me about it last time I went to gamestop for PS system and they said that I have to buy it online I was so mad I ended up going to Walmart store to buy somethings.
I went to Gamestop to pick up Cyberpunk when it came out. My name is slightly different on the website than on my ID... so as I'm picking up the game, the dude tells me "why is your name different than what your ID says? Why are you changing your name? almost didn't want to give you the game" with a completely patronizing attitude. I just disregarded it and let him stew in his misery. That's the best way to get them.
EB Games employees in Australia are great. Always energetic, love what they do. Willing to help. it's interesting to see GameStop employees over there act like Al Bundy. No wonder they are in the shitter. Gamestop is EB Games here. And when they do bad over there, it's gonna suffer world wide since it's American corporation.
I picked mine up at GameStop. Gamestop is a really shitty store for customers though. Like he was nice to me & I bought the Deluxe Edition. The problem is that he asked me if I pre ordered it. There was 2 copies he had. So I thought he was going to say no cuz I had to pre order it or had to call etc. Nope. He's like ok cool, here's the the game. So who ever pre ordered it is now out of a game. Now if I want something, I'll just order it online off Amazon. It comes within 2 days. They have a wider selection of games.
Yea. GS is just terrible at this point, it's a place parents can run into to get last-minute birthday gifts for kids. I did get a sweet Nintendo Xmas ugly sweater there 2 yrs ago, but for games, you're better off just ordering from best buy at this point. They've never let me down.

The GameStop rants make me feel nostalgic lol
🤣

This why that location closed down 😅
To be honest, I’m the small percentage that’ll go to a GS for the merch and NOT the games. Haha

I dunno man. I personally wouldn't have posted this "wah wah" moment on the internet.
I'm not sure how you have so many bad experiences at Gamestop. I've never had a bad experience at Gamestop.

It’s obvious you were lying, that Gs employee was nothing but cordial and told you over the phone that there were none in stock. SMH.
