+Back to the Future I've had a MicroKorg for more than five years and found it to be one of the most uninspiring and generic sounding pieces of musical equipment in my possession. By comparison, I've had the littlebits kit for fewer than five days and found it to be more intuitive and conducive to creative sound exploration in almost every way.
+Back to the Future The microkorg is alright if all you want are basses and leads, but I got bored of mine quickly because it was a pain to edit. Compare that with this kit - you can plug anything into anything and get instant sonic results. You can learn more about synthesis and sound design in 10 minutes with this kit than you'll learn in a year using the microkorg
you can also buy DIY kits that are cheaper and produce better sounds and learn sound synthesis AND electronics.... This littleBits kit is really expansive, it will cost you as much as a monotribe and you'll get less than a half of the features... And don't tell me a monotribe isn't cool to understand sound synthesis(and you can also hack and mod a monotribe)
Korg must be sooo desperate to rake in more money with the Little Bits!! And great how they say people were more connected - nobody knows how to socialise these days. I could not have a conversation with someone who needs to check his/her iPhone every 2 minutes! Chuck all this technology including the garbage advertised here and go back to analog synthesis. I prefer soldering to this shite! When did people loose all these abilities?
That probably started when schools became risk averse (chemistry labs with no chemicals), people don't want to get their hands dirty (soldering is smelly) and kids are wrapped in cotton wool by their parents (No, little Jonny will not be taking part in electronics tech class in case he gets electric shock... from a 9v battery??).
I have very fond memories of programming the SID chip in my C64 :) It worked by subtractive synthesis, too.
Aaaah, Commodore computers - now we're talking :o)
Cool video :)
Could you add a disclaimer that this wasn't sponsored? The video makes it sound so cool that it almost seems like an ad.
Well I don't even care if this is sponsored or not. It is objective and not misleading at all.
they sell this in a store in oslo i went to. it's really expensive tho, like 350 usd for the synth kit.
Axe Man cool yeah bring antisemitism into this, that's exactly what i wanted.
Axe Man im just going to ignore you my dude. hate is *not* what i wanted out of this.
Well.
That escalated quickly.
And if you wanted to you could probably create your own modular synth kit.
It would take a while but you could do it
VON thats true. it just costs alot of money. and i agree. not sure why that guy wanted to involve jews into this
agreed.
i guess he was tryna be funny.
Bit by bit, bit by bit...*cue KMFDM song*
I like this but its pretty expensive also about sticking to the kit. too late im already saving up to buy a $2000 synth
where can i find the old video you took the quotes from?
Found it. archive.org/details/HowtoLis1957
"your favorite dubstep" keep them out of here
Or just buy a used microkorg for less than this kit, and be able to actually make music.

a micro korg isnt going to teach you about sound and synthesis, If you really want to get into making synthy sounds
get a minilgue
"Why hunt for food when you can just buy it at Burger King?"
