A very useful review. This has convinced me that the 502 is probably the best made of the available choices.

So far. It feels like a “real” firearm than the others. I suppose the glock feels real too. We will find out on the range.

Bought one today (4/25/23) for my daughter. Why this one?: She temp has my Glock19. For self-defense. However...This implies a little CQB in confined spaces. She has no/limited idea what happens what a weapon does (physiologically) and sounds like in said areas! (F's you up!). Hence, this weap and soon to be married to Sir Warlock II (he's so nice and quiet:). If not Mil out there,...SMC is paramount! and this will enhance that in CQB. The 502 is so smooth, you can "rack" on anything!.

    I have a FN 509 & a FN 5.7. Very happy with both. Now carry an M&P 2.0 9mm instead of 509.
Pretty good review. Could have shown more close-up views. Didn't explain slide take-down. Or reassembly.
    Thanks.

UA-cam doesn’t allow us to demonstrate how to do that without getting demonetized. Sorry bud. I might have a video on that in the FN playlist.

Just bought one for my daughter (it is Buttery :). We both like the safety! Muscle memory out of holster etc...is ingrained. Wife no likey :( (cop, go fig). Only two issues...Mag to receiver is sloppy but fixable (shim). Mag release to easy and pronounced. I'll tighten up/replace spring if I can, and that should alleviate both. Oh, Schools of thought "Safety switch"... I Ret. Mil and Fed Cont for diff agencies (guns w/with out safeties). Wife Ret. Dep and was Corr, LE and Probation, all "no safety". Our daughter & son got both sides of the story and prefer "safety". Why: Lack of use, trng and multiple "peep's" vying to get said gun (perps don't know "holster" type and where the safety is/or has one)! This gives prescious seconds for "fight or flight". They do know however (my kids),... they have a safety! AND!!!...They have never touched so much as a water pistol, w/finger on trigger (ingrained/1st safety). Chambering...another story, another time :) :(

The 502 is not meant to be dry fired.
