    Wow man. Youve had very similar thoughts as I have considering pursuing this career. Similar background too - I grew up in the wonderful Dundee.
    Anyway I ended up in Enfield for a year then Edinburgh for 2 and then almost went to Airbus in Portsmouth but decided Portsmouth wasnt for me and nor were the limitations of the defence industry generally in terms of remote working and beauraucracy etc.

    What do you think about the cross section between aerospace and software engineering? For example astrodynamics and trajectory simulation are quite software intensive but also require good aerospace knowledge. Are these sort of jobs hard to find?

      These roles are super exciting for me as well as I may consider this route later down my career. I think they're not common roles, but they're not difficult to find as often launcher companies are looking for GNC (guidance navigation and control) engineers, or straight up software engineers. I've seen Rocket Lab have a number of GNC positions open, so it is a real possibility to combine both areas into one role.

    I’m in the same position as you were when making this video. I’m leaving the aviation industry as well to pursue a software engineering career path for some of those reasons. Any tips on how to orient my career on that area since I will be self taught most of my path

    Hi dear,
    am really in trouble am choosing a career in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Aerospace Engineering. Which should be better, my opinion was to take CSE but my parents forcing me to take Aeronautical Engineering,
    What should I Do brother
    (By the way am 17 years and am struggling to get a perfect career)

    Hello again Sagar, how easy is it to switch to other industries whilst having an Aircraft Engineering degree?

    • @SA64R
      @SA64R  3 роки тому +2

      It all depends on what other things you learn whilst studying aerospace engineering, if you learn how to code outside of your degree you become quite versatile.

    I quit being an aircraft mechanic after 30 years as there is no point when A flight is 29 quid .Got sick of the sh!te management and Hr screwing down the wages and terms and conditions.20 years of threats of closure and moving maintenace to a third rate MRO where they can do for 2 quid an hour. 911,volcanoes , Demand led rostering then covid was the final nail in the coffin.Its just not secure.

    Congrats on securing your role! Can you talk about the process of applying to a software engineering grad role as an aerospace engineering graduate? Are you required to know how to code? Thanks!

    I would like to ask what are your opinions on civil engineering vs aerospace engineering? Thanks

      LOL Alan civil is a very respectable discipline and so is aerospace but aerospace sounds cooler ;)

    So basically this video is you joining the tech movement for the money.Didnt you have passion for aerospace when you were selecting it?

    • @SA64R
      @SA64R  2 роки тому

      It's not my one and only reason as mentioned in the video there are many. I do still have a passion for aerospace and wouldn't mind going back into the field as a software engineer as long as the pay is comparable to tech which it only really is in the USA.

    how did you get accepted into software engineering with an aerospace degree?
    and if you do that what kind of background do you need to have
    because I will start studying aerospace engineering at Manchester this September and then thinking of becoming a pilot
    but that might not work out and working for google sounds cool so what do you need to have to make the change

    • @SA64R
      @SA64R  3 роки тому

      I applied to a company and successfully passed their recruitment process. I knew some aspects of software engineering due to prior studies and self learning in my spare time. Being a pilot, doesn't require a degree and if you want to become one then possibly, going into flight school now is better for you since it does cost a lot of money, even more so than university.

    Bro iam weak in maths,so can I apply for aerospace engineering

    • @SA64R
      @SA64R  2 роки тому

      Aerospace is a very maths heavy course and will involve complex maths so if you’re not getting the top grades in your maths classes it may be a very very challenging degree to pursue. However, I would consider doing an apprenticeship in the field as you’ll gain the industry experience to actually work in the field.

    Wow, if you're going to have such a frivolous perspective on a career like aerospace engineering or other related science prioritizing material ambition or worldly benefits you might have for example, dude better dedicate yourself to something else.
