    I align with this video so much. Rounding up with my masters in civil engineering while I used to code before even getting into university. Now enrolled in Comp Sci and returning to software engineering

    I’ve been following your channel since 2020. Ever since, you have been my #1 inspiration in life and you have been someone I look up to. After taking 2 gap years, I’m now an engineering student @ University of Pretoria (home to Africa’s premier engineering faculty). I love computers and software engineering, but at the same time, I have an interest in electronics, and I am having difficulties choosing between a *Computer Engineering* degree or a *Electronic Engineering* degree. I would love to get advice from you regarding this. Thank you KJ!

      Thank you for your time, KJ. In computer engineering, the balanced mix of hardware electronics and software engineering modules appeals to me. On the other hand, electronic engineering delves even deeper into electronics. My aspiration is to become a computer chip designer and also contribute to the field of AI. Thanks once again for your time, KJ!

    What's your review on Systems engineering. As I've also completed my under- graduation specialising in Aeronautical Engineering and willing to pursue my post-graduation in Systems Engineering mainly it will include Model Based System Engineering.

    • @KJHardrict
      @KJHardrict  4 місяці тому +1

      Systems engineering is vague, so it’s tough for me to answer. It really depends on the specific projects you’d be involved in. But I do have some friends who are very intrigued by it as well. I think it could be a fulfilling role

    Coincidentally I am the opposite and find myself wanting to switch over to Robotics from SWE, but I am mid thirties now, is it too late?

    • @KJHardrict
      @KJHardrict  4 місяці тому

      No, since you’re in your mid thirties, I’m assuming you have plenty of years being a software engineer under your belt. For robotics, you’re just coding for a physical system now as opposed to a cloud distributed one. Do you have any experience working with physical systems? I’m curious why the interest now?

      @@KJHardrict I do have experience in web2/web3 development, I haven't coded for 6 months now because of highschool. Which is really sad. But I also love rockets and space since I was 5 or so.
      I feel Iike it's easy to learn coding on my own, on the other hand it's really hard to learn aerospace engineering, it costs much money too. I wanna learn it to work in the domain to get some experience and create my own space company. At the same time, I have many projects I can do with coding too 😅

      @@KJHardrict But I'm pretty sure I cannot keep up with both of them, like learning aerospace at the uni and coding on my own, right?

    • @KJHardrict
      @KJHardrict  4 місяці тому +3

      You would be able to continue to do both. But you will be able to give more attention to one if you did focus

    do you think its worth choosing Software Engineer because of the money?

    • @KJHardrict
      @KJHardrict  4 місяці тому +1

      Money should never be the sole driving factor in a major decision like this - because it could lead to decades of unfulfillment. But it is definitely a major factor that can’t be ignored.

      Software engineering salary will not be this high after years you should acknowledge this.

    • @KJHardrict
      @KJHardrict  4 місяці тому +1

      I actually think software engineering salaries will continue to increase in the coming years. It will probably continue to get more competitive to actually land a job, but as AI tech increases, software engineers will be needed to actually piece products together

      @@KJHardrict there are a lot and I’m just learning but I was interested in the ethical/hacking and security. I’ve also seen game development to be interesting because it uses high level math and coding. But right now I think the best way to get in is full stack. I’m very interested in the front and back end sides, and this can introduce me to security when securing my websites. So I’m learning JavaScript right now, and I’m relearning python. I took a python course in college but did not build anything useful and forgot some syntax. I finished learning hrml and css as well. Thanks for the reply! Maybe you can give me some input

      I think the languages you’re learning are perfect. I’d just say to try your hand at some projects to really tie up the knowledge in your head before any potential interviews. It’s huge to be able to discuss things you’ve personally built

    I'm interest in engineering and energy. Can I ask you to send my massage to any university that can help me 🙏, we literally lost everything....
