@@mrgabriale I have already booked a hunt for next March with Chris Bilkey but I would definitely be interested in doing a bow hunt!! Where are you located and what animals do you hunt?
@@mrgabriale Sounds great!! it might be awhile before I could do it but I’m definitely interested!!! got the NZ trip and Africa next year. Let’s stay in touch and Thank you for the invite!! Do you ever come to the states??
Nice, very nicely done as usual John. Red Deer are one of my favourite deer to hunt. It's the largest of the 6 species of deer we can hunt here in the UK. Man, that new Elite looks a great bow......😁
Me being the guy who hems and haws about what to buy and run; always wanting to make the best educated decisions. Your videos help ALOT! I just ordered some sevr 1.75s few days ago. And to see that you continue to use them through out the years, really shows how much trust you have in them. Thanks for the great content!
Congrats John, I know those sevr's are tough but animals seem to go a long way after being hit, I think your only getting half the cut when uneven density tissue is hit with those swing blades, like small 2 blades, slower death and longer blood trails
Thanks Jason. Honestly, I don’t agree with your assessment. Every Stag that was shot that week went a long way-most were high lung shots like mine. A few were never recovered-with a variety of heads. I’ve taken about 30 animals with the Sevr and have been absolutely pleased with the blood trails and lethality of them-from hogs to deer to moose to turkey to zebra to blesbok. Any variation in blood and lethality has been a function of shot placement. In broadhead designs, everything is a trade off. But I’ve found that any negative aspects of the pivoting blades are offset by better penetration. Just took two more hogs with a Sevr this week-huge entrance and exit holes.
Low light video is tough. I have an Iphone 13. On 4k 60 frames, it films better in low light than your eye can see. The last few minutes, you can put it on 4k 30 frames, and film to legal shooting light ends. You have to turn the screen brightness down so it doesn't illuminate back on you. Almost impossible to film low light with a high frame rate. Requires more light. Congrats on the hunt.
Yep. I had the GoPro set on super high speed, so I could use it for slow motion. I had the Canon XA11 set for low light. Unfortunately, all I got was the camera that was not set up for low light.
Not yet. But they do know who they are. And they had another poacher arrested while we were there. It’s only a misdemeanor there, so I’m sure they’ll be back. They don’t have wardens, only local police.
W😳W, what a beautiful stag, that Sevr really did a job! In an alternate universe if Sevr offered a 3 blade configuration in the exact same head and it performed as well as the 2 blade in your testing regimen do you think it would be a lot more lethal then the 2 blade in a marginal hit? 🤔 I love your hunt videos, thanks for sharing! God Bless!
Yeah, that was challenging. Everyone that had a high lung shot this week had the same experience. There was more blood, but it was hard to find in that grass. I'd aim about 4 inches lower next time, but in the low light, I was pleased with the shot and glad we found it.
Right? Sheesh. You go all the way to a remote area of Argentina for a bowhunting experience--and have to deal with poachers! It's only a misdemeanor there, and they don't have any Wildlife agents, only local police. So very hard to enforce anything.
Thanks Bob. You can check out Poitahue Ranch in La Pampa, Argentina. They have a nice website, and can send a price list. It changes based on the time of the year you hunt there, whether it's in the roar or not. It's roughly in the $5000-6000 range for a week, all expenses included.
We salute you “Mr Professional Broadhead Teeeeeessssttrer”!
Thanks for the footage.
Haha. Thank you
Congratulations John on a beautiful Stag!! I’ve dreamed of hunting Stag for a decades! Finally going to New Zealand next March. keep up the good work.

Good job
Thank you
That is a GREAT Stag, CONGRATULATIONS John.
Is that a scar above the hole?
I think it was a scrape made by an antler of another stag.
What an adventure! And Congratulations on a magnificent stag. Awesome
Thanks Tim.
That is an beautiful animal. Congratulations John. That looks like a very good time. God is defintly good.
I felt very blessed. Thanks Jason.
Watching your arrow shaking when thoes stag started rolling in, the first thing i thought was " same " lol
:)

Did this arrow do a complete pass-through? If not, did that account for the limited blood trail? I’m dreaming of this hunt in my future!
It barely poked out the backside. Incredible internal damage and blood. The high lung shot and hole kept the blood inside, for the most part.

Crazy to walk in on poachers. Unreal.
Right? And on the first morning of the first day of the hunt.
Amazing! What a cool and unique place to hunt !
Right? Thank you
Great job nice hunt!! Did they catch the guys that shot the one with a rifle?
Not yet. But they do know who they are. And they had another poacher arrested while we were there. It’s only a misdemeanor there, so I’m sure they’ll be back. They don’t have wardens, only local police.
That's awesome Lusk!

Did they take the stag that was poached
We recovered it. They ran away right after they shot it cause they saw us approaching.

Thank you. Yeah, but man, that hole was pretty impressive...definitely not just a slit.
Congratulations on a great harvest ‼️👍😲🤯🏹

Thank you!
John, awesome bowhunting brother!
Thanks Sean!
Congratulations. That's an impressive entrance hole.
Thank you...and it sure was.
Awesome hunt! Hopefully they caught the poachers.
Thank you. They hadn’t yet. But it’s only a misdemeanor there, so there’s not much consequence.
Maybe 200 yards, a healthy 200 yards, maybe 300 yards…….. uhhhhhhhhh

Beautiful Stag and a beautiful shot. Well done Sir!!
Thanks Big Mike.
I'm still mad about the poachers and it didn't even happen to me.

that mega church must pay really well nice animal congrats
Nope. Not a mega church. It’s the UA-cam channel and sponsorships that cover that.
