Hi
its me connor
I'm the Android sent by cyberlife
I've never played this game before. Thanks for letting me see it through your filter. If I could recommend one game to you, I would recommend "Perception" 2016. here's the trailer! ua-cam.com/video/L_1zUXv5l7M/v-deo.html You get to play as a blind woman. You see by noise, like Daredevil.
Way to make it through this game! It's a good one, but so rough on the emotions.
Yeah, Sam's death was poetic being killed by a deer, but imagine Dawn being left alone in the woods after watching her father fall to his death. How long was she there all alone?
She didn't look like she was old enough to drive either, and it was before cell phones existed. How'd she ever find help?!
Oh geez. I’d never thought about that before. That’s honestly kind of horrifying to think about. As someone who is very early in adulthood and still somewhat dependent on my parents, the idea of being left all alone in the woods without them to help me is giving me the Big Anxiety™
@@cl0wn_mp3 I'm 37 and it gives me anxiety too... My Dad loved to take and process his own photos when he was a teen, through to his early thirties. He's also a hunter and had some of the things he's hunted, mounted. Every time I see Sam's death, it hits me hard and I can't help but imagine my Dad... I see so much of my Dad in Sam, that it absolutely terrifies me, because I know something like that can happen in real life!
Bryan: I hope Sanjay is ok!
Amelia: we saw Sanjays tombstone
Brian: Sanjay is not ok
The way they were absolutely dumbfounded after Lewis's story was EXACTLY how I felt when I first experienced the game. If you ask me, Lewis's story is worth the entire asking price.
Why? I found his way too long and boring.
@@Thisisnotapipe_ that's your opinion. But it was in my opinion the saddest story.
@@Rushtondolly i couldnt understand why he died can you tell me :(
@@llumynne3313 He was mentally unstable. I think he specifically had Schizophrenia so his mind wasn't always there and at the very last part it shows you that his head is about to be chopped off basically saying he committed s*icide by putting his head in the machine he used for chopping the fishes head off.
@@Rushtondolly thank you ❤️
One thing that I noticed in this game is how early they had children. Edie had her first kid when she was 20, Sam when he was 18, Dawn also when she was 20, and Edith is only 17 and is pregnant.
I guess it's a sort of instinct when you're convinced you're gonna die before you get a chance to reach retirement.
I hoped that Edith would ve been smarter to not have a kid and end her bloodline, but I guess she didn't want to be alone anymore.
@@Anders_Dome my theory is that since Edith died in childbirth, her son was adopted into a family and he is no longer a Finch so therefore the curse is broken.
@@ghosty8193 it wasn’t really a curse. The real problem was Edie herself. She caused basically everything.
@@nativenewyorker3144 Why? The real problem is some problems with the brains of the whole family. They are crazy or stupid. And that's why they almost all die.
More like -- they are like taking risks. That's why they became rich in the first place, but it's the same reason why they all keep dying stupid deaths.
I was a bit sad when you didn't play Lewis' story but I'm happy you did it afterwards. Great play through!
Same
Thing to note. The family was not cursed but having a "curse" was definitely used to justify bad decisions. The worst, in my opinion, was building a swing on top of a cliff and leaving a baby alone in a bath. The parents were just plain negligent.
Fan of Joseph Anderson~?
I think it’s more up to interpretation. The curse can be real. I believe it is honestly
Ethan Lackey I was just saying it’s up to interpretation
Ethan Lackey yea I see where you’re coming from
No the finches believed so much in a family curse that it became real
As someone who struggles with escapism, the Lewis story hit hard, and I assume it's worse for people with dissociation
According to the creator of this game, what you learn about Milton's disappearance from the flip-book, is actually cannon. He finds a magic paintbrush and enters a world of his creation. If you want to know what happens to him after that, then you have to play *The Unfinished Swan* . The creator of both games said that both of these stories are true and that the King in The Unfinished Swan is actually Milton Finch.
by far one of the most beautiful, yet melancholic and bittersweet games I've ever played, I bet you guys will like playing it!
True
In a game about deaths the message in the end about life is poetic and beautiful.
The day that he made up his mind to fly... And he did. :(
"... thanks for the recommendation 😬"
I'm not all the way through the video but I have a theory that the curse of the Finch family was their obsession. Each person in their family became fixated on something that ultimately resulted in their death. Molly's obsession with food. That child star's desire to be remembered. Calvin's desire to be fearless and swing around the tree. That uncle's obsession with his fear and the thing above ground. All of them couldn't let go and in the end it killed them... i think?
How did Molly die
@@sibs544 Those little berries on the window are very poisonous thats why ppl started using plastic decoration, but it used to be the real ones
@@camilog777 ah
I see... I think there’s merit to this theory. It does make sense
Molly was obsessed with animals not food. She was just a 10yo in 1947 going to bed without food. I assume money was scarce and there wasn't much or a town nearby so getting food was hard and when they did have food it wasn't much so molly was quite hungry
19:48 "this guy saved the fish"
yeah saved him by hiding him safely away in a can
I would highly recommend playing The Unfinished Swan which is by the same people. Milton's whole room and story is a big nod to it. It's also a short game and it's beautifully done.
I'm guessing the section in Barbara's story was cut out before uploading to avoid possible copyright strikes. Though I don't think that would have happened since I've seen several youtubers upload playthroughs of the game with that section including music in the video.
Very, very sad but beautiful storytelling. Knew what is going to happen but still dropped a tear in some moments
I just beat the game. Straight raw emotion just hit me when I saw Edith’s tombstone. And then I opened up and saw the family tree.. that’s when I couldn’t hold back anymore.
Lewis' story hits the hardest for me. I was diagnosed with 'maladaptive daydreaming' which is where your daydreams interfere with your daily life. I can totally resonate with Lewis and how numb he felt.
oooo, jeez, this is what I have!! Shit, did you managed to get rid of it?
Heh I was afraid they wouldn't play Lewis part, it's my favorite part (and also the comics). This storytelling omg
I just finished playing this game for the 4th time, this time I played while my mother watched because I'd told her about it so much she wanted to see it.
Needless to say I still cried like a baby just like the previous 3 times, I'm a 36 year old man that enjoys bloody, gory, violent games and yet this game chokes me up every time. This is my favorite non first person shooter game I've ever played, it's such a beautiful game.
Play this game please "Firewatch (2016)", it has a good story and it's not long game!
Yeah! +
recommend it on his Discord :)
Yes
yessss
Firewatch is the most beautiful game ever made. The story mode and the scenery is 100% the ending spoilers is not there yet but also it's short. The acting is great. Please play Firewatch
This is why i love these kind of games, they're full of amazing and powerful stories
If you didnt get the metaphorical side of Barbras story, she was beaten to death by her boyfriend
I had no idea that was how she died oh my god
Wait, but he left. I thought for years she was killed by the gang the radio station was talking about.
Really it’s up to the player, while that is a good theory I don’t think its the only one, many people believe she was killed by her crazed fans, I personally think the hook,an impaled and ate them as he did his family, there was no trace of Rick, he was a teen he couldn’t have been that good at evading the police, and all that was left of Barbara was her ear? Where’s the rest of her body then?
I don't know why but "how did we turn into a cat from eating toothpaste" obliterated me jfc
I can't even begin to tell you how much joy watching the two of you brings me. Like I'll never meet you, or even talk to you, but I already think more highly of you than most people in my life.
Was so tense watching this, bespite playing it before and knowing there's no major jumps scares or real horror stuff.
Still loved it. You guys are the best
33:30 I honestly didn't know the red berries you use for decoration at Christmas (holly berries?) were poisonous 🤪😳
Plus the toothpaste isn't exactly healthy for a 10 year old on an empty stomach
Those were mistletoe, which usually won't kill you, but are poisonous.
Moreover, toothpaste in the 1950s, especially A FULL TUBE, was definitely poisonous.
@@ManiacalBlueberry it’s not even just the toothpaste. It was the 1950s so literally everything had chemicals in it. Especially toothpaste.
That freaking shark always cracks me up! The looks on their faces as it went tumbling down the mountain, priceless!
I love how each death teaches you something special about life c,:
This will always be my favorite game 💕
Thanks for playing it! I know it was sad but I always feel weirdly peaceful whenever I watch it, it’s a really special game
I love this game so much, I'm glad you played it
Yes!!! So excited! You guys rock!
I'm so excited for this play through! I LOVED this game!
I love the different ways/styles they tell a story! It's so cool! I especially love Lewis' story as it has different gaming perspectives. From 2D to top-down to 3D to third person and then first person! So cool! 👏
When Bryan said "give us something funny" and then the bathtub appeared, I was like....oh dear god, these two are gonna suffer with this one.
That was the only death in this game that made me cry. I have a baby at home myself and I couldn't imagine losing her
Someone needs to make a complication of bryan and amelia getting emotional.
This game is in my top 3 favourite games of all time. The story and the message is so beautiful, as well as the design and the score. A masterpiece in my eyes.
I had forgotten how much I enjoyed playing this game a few years ago. This is gonna be a ride.
yo the way I didn't know they played this omg it's an amazing game
oh God this game was a wild journey, it really is a lot... a LOT~~~ I'm so happy I saw you playing it!
I played this for the first time just before New Years and I loved it. Im happy to see more people experiencing it.
2:00:21 "yeah something funny give us something funny" oh no
You should change the "Have you played" polls to have you played / watched X game, because there are some games like this one that have many people who have seen a let's play of the game but haven't played the game
Oh boy. Time to cry.
Wait, there was a whole thing for Barbara's story! :( Is it out of the game now?
Apparently, this video kept getting flagged bc of this bit so Bryan had to cut it out.
Yeah, it's a whole thing that's super cool but it automatically plays the Halloween theme song so it probably got flagged
@@J1ntu That's odd that it would have gotten flagged since I've seen several youtubers upload this game and play that section fully with music included.
@@passionsquietrage same!
@@mariiaosyptsova8193 ohhh, okay.
There are so many things to love in watching playthroughs of this game, but I think my favourite is that silence for the first 30 seconds of the credits as the player processes everything that has just happened.
Love how the developers included a reference to Unfinished Swan through Milton's room. It's nostalgic to hear its theme again and see the concept arts in his room. I love to think that Milton is the kid in the first game and he disappeared because he went to the king's castle.
Didn’t the developers make it canon that the king is Milton and the picture book actually happened?
I never knew about this confirmation. Thanks for letting me know!
@@GWAHGWAHGWAHGWAHGWAHGWAHGWAHGW wait so is that implying that the game isn’t grounded in reality? There’s fantasy involved?
@@nativenewyorker3144 Technically yes, but this is the only case of confirmed magic in the game
That ending gets me every time 😭💜
Never mind. Might have missed them going to Milton's room when I was slowly falling asleep. I didn't get a lot of sleep the night before so I was super tired.
Watching this while knitting for a few hours was so relaxing
Im so glad you played this!! This is such a great game and I played it a while ago when it was a playstation plus game. 😊❤
My personal theory is that since Edith died in childbirth, her son was adopted into a family and he is no longer a Finch so therefore the curse is broken.
Never played it😭 It's always great to see the two of you doing well❤
That game is incredible, I loved it. Massive like!
The music in this game is incredible
this is one of my favourite short games. i love it 🥰
It’s honestly funny seeing him ram into everything expecting for a cut scene to happen when you know, we have hands and this game bases a lot of physics off of real life like the movement and stuff
*sees Molly's story*
"That was like a fever dream..."
You mean like the kind you might get after poisoning yourself with an old carrot, a full tube of 1950s toothpaste, and mistletoe berries?
Yep, exactly that.
I think what happened with Molly is that she was so hungry that she started eating things she shouldn't have and accidentally poisoned herself. The rest was probably hallucinations and kid imagination...
I played this I think over a year or 2 ago. And it's so good. This game has a very nice story.
This game is masterpiece, glad that you guys play it 😘
Please play "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter" and "The Magic Circle". Both are very interesting games with unique gameplay mechanics.
Amanda A Is Ethan Carter similar to this one?
You should put on your survey "I've only seen it"
I love the Finch family, it's full of people who are creative, unique, different and full of mystery! But that can also be called madness! It's really sad!
19:55 Amelia's laugh is the best so far! 😂
All Deaths Explained:
Molly: Death By Poisoning - Due To Eating The Toothpaste and Holly
Barbara: Murdered - Killed By Mark Or By The Murderer Let Loose
Calvin: Fell To Death - Flew Away To The Ocean And Drowned Or Flew Away To Land On The Rocks And Die
Gregory: Drowned - Due To Being Left Alone And Accidentally Turning On The Faucet
Gus: Crushed - Due To The Storm Blowing Away Something That Crushed Him
Sam: Fell To Death Like His Brother - Pushed Away By Deer And Trips Over The Cliff, And Lands On Either Water Or Land
Walter: Hit By Incoming Train - After Walking Out Of His Bunker He Does Not Notice The Train Tracks And Gets Hit By Incoming Train
Lewis: Decapitated - After Getting Disconnected From Reality, He Places His Dead Above A Guillotine (In Fantasy) / A Fish Guillotine (In Reality)
Edie: Possibly Died Of Old Age - She Lived For So Long, That She Couldn't Keep Living Forever
Dawn: Died Of A Dangerous Illness - Unknown
Edith Finch: Can Be Anything You Could Imagine - It Could Everything That You Could Think Of
Edie more than likely killed herself because on her door there’s a date for the year she died and she was the only one left in the house. Edith died childbirth.
I love you guys!
this...This hit differently
"Well, we didn't miss any."
JESUS CHRIST, DUDE.
I just played this for the first time a few weeks ago, a nice game for gamers interested in storytelling.
You two should really play Cuphead, it's two player and I would LOVE to see Bryan and Amelia rage off of it.
one of my favorite games ever! 💕
2:32:41 Alexander Bruce was a playtester too? WOW I didn't notice that when I played, is that the same guy who developed Antichamber? Which is a game I totally reomment, btw. Awesome LP guys, it was nice finding your channel on christma's eve!
Omg this is such an amazing game 😍
I'm gonna watch it for the 3rd time, now in English))
I sometimes hate how vague it is regarding the cause of death, but that means you can also imagine several ways. For instance, the theory is that Molly died of food poisoning from eating the berries, but you could also imagine a scenario where she pretended to be a cat, fell from the tree she promised not to climb, "heard nothing but wind in her ears" and then things moving in the grass as an owl, "choked on the rabbits" as she struggled for air, tasted blood in her mouth as a shark, and heard people screaming as a monster, before she finally "went to sleep."
I’m pretty sure there’s canon causes of death for most characters. Molly dying from food poisoning isn’t really a theory since we saw her eat feces covered gerbil food and down toxic toothpaste.
I’d love to see these guys give the beginners guide a shot.
Man, i feel so bad, I just figured about your channel, and I just recently just knew about Detroit Become Human, wish I knew you earlier.
Yay! Love this game!
I loved this game 💜
I knew that was coming with Lewis as soon as i seen the beheading of the fish lol
Calvin’s story got me sad (read: depressed af) too
I had plans then this came out, staying in tonight. No regrets.
Could you please put the link of your discord server in the description lines? It would be a pleasure to be there ❤️
Aww Lewis' story is the best one!
Amelia singing Gus the Theatre Cat is sooo cute!

Fun fact this game is based in Washington state where i am from...in fact this is all based around an island that is about a 2hr car ride and 2 hr ferry ride away from me ^_^
My grandma's old house had a secret room behind the fireplace
You guys should play "Draugen", it’s similar to his game and also absolutely great!! Nice video as always
I can't stop laughing at the comment around 35:57 gameplay "Well they didn't know we were cat right now" exactly Bryan!! Awesome! thanks for great gaming @Dechart Games , big fan
So, 2 characters that committed suicide. Walter, and Lewis.
6 characters that died from accidents. Odin, Sven, Sam, Gregory, Calvin, and Molly.
2 characters that died from natural body conditions. Edith (childbirth), and Dawn(cancer).
2 characters that mysteriously went missing. Edie, and Milton.
and 1 character that was murdered, Barbara.
Wow - your ending appeared, before the ending.
Does anyone know where amelia got her hat? its super cute i love it
Amelia reminds me of a Disney princess
I saw a lot of gamer girl on UA-cam but she is the cutest ! I can look at her for two hours straight without feeling tired of her :3
OMG HE IS CONNOR
Great one! You should play Gone Home as well.
@sREUDIAN fLIP Yeah no doubt Gone Home is way below but it is still worth its 2/2,5 hours of gameplay. The 90 vibes of the game make it enjoyable. One I wouldn't recommend at all is Fire Watch.

This game hits hard
I almost cried watching Calvin(the baby???) and Lewis' story... his kinda got to me a bit. Cause I daydream and 'lose myself' quite a bit though not to that extent. And when I had a job, I would do it too, if I was in the middle of something super monotonous and 'repeating'(?).
Sometimes my coworkers would catch me and I maybe had some expression on my face and they'd be like 'oh what's wrong' or something like that, and I never would tell them 'oh yeah I'm just watching this whole (fanfic)story in my head and its sad, or this part made me angry' cause it was embarrassing but. I get bored quite easily and my mind is very imaginative so, that's what happens. Same if I'm on long car rides, etc; and I don't have anything to 'do'.
Just like ugh. @.@ Lewis. :(
@@roseinskyrim you're imagining a story and get sad.. Or you're thinking about a fan fiction you read somewhere, that makes you sad or angry?? . Just asking by curiosity.
@@RenaissanceMotoko972 Basically watching movies/books/games/tv shows in my head, with a twist, so kinda like mental fanfic tv/movie, and I'd get super emotional about them lol and my coworkers would be like 'you ok? what's wrong?' and such sometimes.
