During the Uliean pipe solo, the lead guitarist, Emmpu turned down Floor’s in ear set…. They love playing and having fun… Floor will switch out his Corona beer for Apple juice, which he cannot stand!
Floor said in one of her fan Fridays that the switching of beer for apple juice never happened. She said you don't touch Emppu's beer - that's a real no-no.

There really is a LOT of REALLY good music from them... not to shortchange any other band as there is a LOT of really good music from a LOT of bands past and present. But Nightwish ... at least in my opinion... is on another level than most bands.
I believe you got Gabriel's list from your first reaction to Nightwish (because he does that for every new Nightwish reactor)... and it's a great list to follow...though just because a song is not on that list does not mean it's not any good...he just tried to narrow the list down so as to not overwhelm too much.
One thing I often hear from reaction channels as they listen to more Nightwish is that every new song they hear becomes their new favorite Nightwish song :)
Some of their songs I would suggest (and I believe these are all on Gabriel's list);
- Storytime
- The Poet and the Pendulum - this is a long song and has a LOT of background to the song that you should seriously look into before you listen. Most people suggest you hold off on this one till you've done at least half a dozen other songs from them...but I don't really understand why they say that, though I agree it helps you really appreciate the song if you understand the background to it.
- Ever Dream
- Wish I had an Angel
- Romanticide
- High Hopes
- The Islander
- The Greatest Show on Earth (another very long song)

@@ManuelGdeP I would most certainly prefer weekly...but this channel covers a LOT of different music... so I don't know that taking 1 day a week away from other music is a good thing...no matter how much I love Nightwish.
In the end of course, it all depends on if they like the idea :)
Now...when it comes to their channel getting views ...and I don't believe it's ALL about views for them, but let's be fair about it and views do matter for their channel... I'm looking at the view count for this one and comparing it to other videos over the past 4-5 days, it's one of the lowest view count...then you look at their Ghost Love Score and it's the 6th highest view count ever on this channel.
So... I don't know if that helps them to decided if it's a good idea or not?

When you guys listened to Ghost Love Score, it was my first-time hearing Nightwish. I have not stopped since. So many good songs. Rockers, Romanticide, last ride of the day, everdream and on and on. Do the live versions. Also, Elan, while your lips are still red, etc.

So glad ya'll finally got back to Nightwish. I was introduced to them from your last video and I have gone down the rabbit hole head first at full speed! Thus band is amazing! Check out Storytime, Romanticide, The Greatest Show on Earth (epic!), and their version of Phantom of the Opera (with the original singer).

Great set list. When ready find Floor’s cover of Heart’s Alone. The woman can sing any genre and often in the same song.
ABSOLUTELY STORYTIME is a MUST listen that track made me a huge FAN.
If you liked Phantom of the Opera with "the original singer" you must check out Floor doing the Phantom of the Opera with Henk Port on the tv show "Beste Zangers." In my humble opinion it is light years better! That's not a knock on the "original singer" it's just that Floor is a once in a lifetime talent.

After I saw Floor Jansen a few years ago on the Dutch tv show Beste Zangers, I discovered Nightwish and Ayreon and other symphonic metal treasures. I love it.

Band from Finland... symphonic rock... One of the greatest bands today 🤘🤘Tuomas (keyboards) is the main songwriter & band founder. Floor Jansen is the 3rd and current singer... Nightwish was established by the original operatic singer Tarja Turunen until 2005, recorded 1st 5 albums... 2nd singer Anette Olzen was more of a pop singer (She originally sang 'I want my tears back') did 2 albums until 2012.
Welcome to the band wagon! They are massive worldwide and the top symphonic metal band out there. They started in ‘96 and still going strong today.

There's so much WORTHLESS SH*T in American music these days(OMG, Billie Eilish, Cardi B--is that the best we can do?) I often go overseas and back to 60s, 70s, and 80s oldies to find something actually worth listening to.
Check out EUROVISION, the big yearly song contest with more than 40 countries having entries--there's a lot of stuff that's trash and/or not meant for the American ear, but every once in a while you find a real gem or two, and it's ALWAYS interesting and unusual. ABBA won the contest in the 1970s, and I love this Finnish hard rock group, this Singer from Moldova, this little lady from South Korea (Aussie citizen), and this Aussie blues singer...

Ok I listen to a lot of music from the 20’s-now and am a HUGE FAN especially of early 70’s-early 90’s and have never heard of Nightwish. One thing that is great about your channel isn’t just watching you two react to songs that we all have loved for so long but learning about artists we’ve never heard of too. I am now a fan of Nightwish because of you. You’re right! They are fire! 🔥

This is my first time hearing Nightwish as well..... So far so good!
This is the most amazing band I have ever witness. They are beyond classification and the power of Floor and her ability to make you feel the song is amazing. Songs like The Poet and the Pendulum will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. What I love most about the band is each member strives in letting all the other members shine. There are no egos which is refreshing and rare.
Gandalf plays bass! Who knew? Seriously, I don't know much about this band, other than they're from Finland, but I love everything I've heard from them so far. Thanks for posting this.

Your first reaction opened the Nightwish rabbit hole for me. Now I have my first new favorite band since Def Leppard and Heart. Top additional songs I like are Romanticide, Song of Myself, Storytime, Poet and the Pendulum and Greatest Show on Earth. Noise is probably also the best song and music video I have seen in a long time as it makes you think. Please keep enjoying your journey. I have enjoyed 80% of your video catalog to date and climbing. Make somebody smile.
A great symphonic metal band from Finland! I love them!
One thing you will find while exploring Nightwish, is every song has something new and interesting to offer. Not just lyrically, but musically and thematically. They never feel stale cause they’re always offering something fresh, and by the time you get around to listening to the same song again you’ve circled around so much it’s completely fresh again.
The "pipes" are a false front for the three synthesizers that Tuomas plays. He also sometimes hides a bottle of Nightwish wine behind it to drink during a concert.
Even though there are at least twenty Nightwish songs that I would rather have watched you guys react to following "Ghost Love Score", I'm so happy that you finally got back to my favorite band! You have not even begun to scratch the surface of the genius of this band.
For true emotion play Nightwish "The Poet and the Pendulum ". However there is some background to this song and Amber you will need to read it. It is why the band is and how they became the way they are.
Not a NW beginners song, very lengthy and you have to understand the history behind the music. Better after you've listened to all 3 singers and appreciate them for what each brought to the band. Absolutely impressive opera song.

I have gone down a Floor Jansen/Nightwish rabbit hole ever since I first watched your Ghost Love Score reaction. If I might make a suggestion for Female Friday it is to listen to Floor's version of Adajio. It shows off her amazing range and gets you in the feels it is so stunning. What a talent. So gifted!

If you think this Wacken crowd was into it (and they definitely were), you should see the Buenos Aires version, chanting, dancing jumping. South America loves Floor. Marko is a great singer too. Jay, you nailed the meaning of the song. I’d suggest Romanticide from this Wacken show next. Its one of their ‘Metal’ songs.
There are no crowds in the world that do concerts like South Americans (thinking of Argentina and Brazil). I'll have whatever they're having, please and thank you, lol.
They are amazing. You don't listen their songs, you experience them! Another great song you guys could do from them is a song called Ever Dream from that 2013 Wacken concert. The other singer (Marko) does an incredible job on that one as well as Floor. Great job you guys!!

Did you notice Empuu (the guitarist) pranking Floor?
At about 45 secs you can see Empuu talking to Troy, probably telling him what he is going to do. They both have clearly fun.
At about 4:00 you see Empuu go behind Floor and turn down the volume or turn off her in-ear monitor. Then she reaches behind her.
The funniest part is at about 4:30 when Empuu crosses the stage again. Floor turns around to watch him so he can’t do it again.
Here you see the height difference between Floor’s 6’1” in heels and Empuu’s 5’3”. They laugh at each other.
YES!!!! It's been months since you did "Ghost Love Score", and I've been waiting for more Nightwish since then! Floor Jansen, Queen of the Valkyries, First of Her Name... long may she reign. And I will ask you again to check out Floor's countrywoman Sharon den Adel, the lead singer of Within Temptation, another band in the same genre (symphonic metal). Her voice is majestic, soaring, and badass. "Stand My Ground" and "The Purge" are such amazing songs, it'll blow you away (hopefully) as much as Nightwish has.
I really like Ice Queen from Within Temptation.

Luv luv Nightwish .. my newest discovery. Haven't heard this track so I thank you so much for that!! Awesome .. not unlike the rest I've listened to. Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Finland. That's the diff sound y'all hear, is unique & appealing to me as well. But like many of ur commenters have said .. gotta react to "The Greatest Show on Earth" and which I've mentioned B4!! I believe I sent the specific link to the one y'all should do too. It's a long one but soooo worth it! Nightwish is most definitely a high performance band who needs to be watched AND heard. The male lead singer here Marco just retired several months ago. They do have a replacement & have made that announcement who'll be joining them on their next concert tour. I'm wondering about his 'new" sound. Thnx again❣️

I love your reactions...you are just prolific with your output. I am surprised it took you so long to get back with Nightwish...you have a massive rabbit hole to go down and there are quite a few other fantastic metal-related and 'symphonic' related artists/groups to pick up along the way. I'm thinking of fantastic vocalists such as Anneke Van Giersbergen, Devin Townsend, Epica, collaborations like Ayreon, etc.
Next Nightwish could be "Storytime" or "Romanticide" (heavier) or the gorgeous "Dead Boy's Poem" (powerful stuff, live Buenos Aires concert), you can't go wrong with this group in my opinion.....well done and keep 'em coming!

First off...Love you guys. Great job! Now, I found Nightwish and Floor Jansen about two years ago or so and was instantly hooked. Now, Nightwish with any of the three singers they've had I really like but with Floor Jansen I LOVE them. I like Floor pre-Nightwish as well, 'After Forever and Revamp' were her previous bands and then Floor on Beste Zangers 2019 a Dutch TV Show with amazing music and vocals especially and then Floor's solo concerts and her UA-cam Channel with such a variety of genres...well, it's almost enough...No that's a lie...I want more Floor...I want more Floor NOW!!!

Longtime sub here. Glad to see you guys revisit Nightwish. Been since August you did Ghost Love Score. This is one of there Folk Metal songs. You guys would love Storytime or Everdream from this concert.

If you want to hear some really untouched raw talent you guys should react to Nightwish’s “How’s the Heart”, but then the accoustic version with Troy and Floor. I would love to see your reaction on this; and the lyrics, especially in these times…
You have no idea what you'll be in for if you continue this journey. This is the only band I know of that can drive your emotions into overdrive especially with Floor singing. She's an empath and you can see why if you keep going. Each song is different from the next and tell a unique story. Each song is an experience and can be a short or epically long. Tuomas (keyboardist) is composer and lyricist for about 90% of their songs and a true genius. Their songs always make you feel good inside and they always seem to be happy. Please do more, you guys will not be disappointed and can truly appreciate their vocals and wonder of the various instruments both metal and symphonic. NW has a way of sending you off to epic movie score battles or Celtic lands far away. Great reaction, keep it going! Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Kitee. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and former lead singer Tarja Turunen.
In the book Rough Guide to Heavy Metal, Essi Berelian describes Nightwish as "gothic film score metal". The Swedish group Therion also introduced gothic elements to their brand of symphonic metal on their 2007 album Gothic Kabbalah.

Troy Donockley... he's English and a full time member of the band, he plays pipes, flutes, whistles, guitar etc and backing vocals, even more vocals now that Marco the bass player left the band.
This song is from the movie Imaginarium. It's about an old man with dimentia. The guy singing is Marko Hietala. You should watch Nightwishes version of Phantom of The Opera with their first Singer Tarja.
Please do Storytime. I really like Floor's presence in that one and it is very catchy.

I found Floor to be an interesting artist. She seems very no fuss. She has her own channel, you should take a look at it. She does her videos often with little or no makeup on, often at her farm, it is a big difference from her stage style. They are both very much her. Definitely not a diva, she comes off as a country, small town girl. She is married to the drummer of Sabaton - another good band to check out.
It is actually an child actor in the video. Floor keeps her daughter out of the social media and protects her privacy.

The “leader” that you referred to is Marco Hietala, who was the bassist and co-vocalist with Floor Jansen. The actual leader of the band is the keyboardist, Tuomas Holopainen, who writes almost all of Nightwish’s music and lyrics.

Their tour openers are incredible explosions…Dark Chest of Wonders (2013) and then Shudder before the Beautiful (2015-16).
Nightwish started out as a project by Tuomas Holopainen, keyboard player and primary songwriter. It rapidly expanded into an actual performance group. His original direction was death metal, but with the talents of his various band mates, the direction moved to a more symphonic type of metal. Over the years the band has had other, very unique vocalists. The first was classically trained in opera, and since leaving the band has enjoyed a very successful solo career, not only performing her own material but also holding occasional master classes in opera singing. The present vocalist, Floor Jansen, is a Dutch soprano who has been a member of a popular symphonic metal band in her home country, done numerous collaborations with other vocalists and bands in Europe, and has been one of featured vocalists working with Arjen Anthony Lucassen, both recording and as live performer with other, select musicians and vocalists working on Ayreon projects throughout the past two decades. Over the life of any band, they evolve and grow. In the case of Nightwish, members of come and gone, as one might expect; but the band also welcomed additional members who allowed an expansion of the overall sound. That is what accounts for what you identified as a more country or perhaps rustic, medieval influences evidenced by the instruments used by that latest member.

The greatest thing about Nightwish is that every song surprises you with something different and unexpected. I hope you keep revisiting them in the future. Storytime, Romanticide and Song of Myself, from the same concert, are some you must hear.
I’ve gone down the rabbit hole thanks to you guys and I am completely addicted! There is such a huge body of work to explore in the history of the band it’s so interesting! I am blown away by Romanticide so you got to try that one, and I really think Amber would love Storytime. They are touring the US and I’m gonna try to see them when they come to New York if it’s not canceled because of Covid!

I got to see Nightwish at the Diamond Ballroom in OKC in 2016, they were amazing.
Nightwish will never disappoint! So glad to see you guys getting back to some symphonic metal! Rob gets so excited :) "song of myself" will blow you guys away. Or Give some other female fronted powerhouses a try, like Within Temptation or Epica.
The male singer Marko Hietala is definitely someone you should do a separate reaction to. He is also in the band Tarot with his brother Zac (and has been since 1983) He also released a solo album a year or two ago. You can't really tell from the brief bit of him singing here but Marko is a very talented singer and composer in his own right.
