I was at that performance!
Did she pick up straight on? Were the audience supportive? Sorry for all the questions but it would be a dream for me to watch Hamilton
+Nicole Chow it was during the song burn, and she sang the wrong part in the first verse then just stopped.... And I think 3 quarters of the audience didn't know, because they wouldn't know the words.... So my family and I were only a few of the people who knew I think..... But my friend who came with me.. She didn't think anything happened. Right after the show I asked her if she noticed it and she said what are you talking about. Phillipa handled it like a pro. She got back on track at the end, and it was fine everyone still clapped loud.

Wizard Demigod she probably was singing burn cuz nobody else is on stage when she sings burn and in this video she said “nobody else was there on stage to help me” so it’s probably burn she was singing
God, I can't imagine performing Burn (I assume it was Burn, seeing as she said she was alone onstage) and forgetting your lines to one of the most powerful songs in the play. I'm cringing for Phillipa.
It had to be Burn lol that may be the best or the worst song to blank during because on one hand, there's no one to help you remember and literally all the attention is on you, but on the other hand, that song is so emotional it could totally be played off as she was just so overcome with pain and anger that she couldn't sing xD

As in listened to the soundtrack 32,000 times and memorized at least ten of the songs
I got to see Hamilton and the Eliza forgot the lyric "Angelica tell this man John Adams spends the summer with his family" but she handled like a pro! It was "Angelica tell my husband **weird mumbling while pretending to whisper**" such a good show
Person person sometimes they change lyrics in the show like in the room where it happens burr says "but" when Hamilton goes but in the show he says "wait". That's from what I noticed when I saw it

But he just emphasized “deliverance” in the next line and it was amazing

I assume she's talking about Burn....being an emotional song, I wouldn't pretend to be too chocked up to speak...but inwardly panicking and search my brain for a clue.

I don't know. But I don't think the preformers would like it.
I don't think she should be embarrassed at all! It happens! lol And, if you think about it there are usually 2 kinds of people in the audience: those who love it and know every word and those who have never seen or heard it before and want the experience. The people who have never seen/heard it would never even know she messed up and the people who know every word to the whole play love her and would never judge or make fun of her for goofing up :D
Eva Lynn exactly! Many people who listen to Hamilton religiously don't get to see the show, and a lot of the audience is just people who want to see it to figure out what everyone's talking about -- or so I've noticed.

Pippa's training taught her so well. It is my dream to go to Julliard like she did because it is so evident in her professionalism and skill that she had outstanding training! Rock on Pippa!

I sang burn at my talent show recently and missed a note that I can get and felt terrible about it but this made me feel a lot better :)

I wonder if the original cast realize the magnitude of Hamilton being on Disney+ is going to have on that Play, the Theatre and their respective careers. It brings this Genius ( not only Lin's writing but their brilliant performances ) to a whole new audience. Soo's performance of Eliza is nothing short of brilliance. The cast was so amazing! They gave a true gift to the world and brought theatre, hip hop and history to a whole new audience to appreciate. Thank you

ok so i saw hamilton last month (january 9th) with my mom and during the first song eliza forgot her line and instead of “when he was ten his father split full of it debt ridden” she said “debt ridden-“ and was able to bounce back. i thought the performance was amazing and my mom didn’t notice so it was fine

I’ve been a performer my whole life and luckily I’ve been one that rarely makes mistakes on stage but obviously I’ve made a few in my time! Those moments are hard to believe and hard to swallow but everybody has them and we are never defined by those mistakes. In my eyes, Phillipa will always be a gracious, consistent, outstanding performer before she’s a mistake-maker❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

What it feels like is everyone is looking at you your mind is blank the other cast member stare at you it feels like time freezes
Ironically ive never forgotten a line, but there was one time that I said the same line almost three times in a monologue. The second time I said it I realized it but J couldn’t figure out why. Then when I was about to loop again I had to stop myself. Totally throws you off and I just hope no one in the audience noticed anything fishy haha

Of course it probably helps if up to that point you have left audiences weeping and awestruck with your stunning performance in the most popular broadway show in modern times, not to mention being incredibly beautiful and talented. Just saying that may take some of the sting away.

Pippa wrote her way out!
Someone in one of the comments who's been to this show when she goofed up said she sang lines from the second verse earlier in the first verse and then stopped, then continued. So knowing Burn is her only solo song this is what would've happened. She must've sang "Do you know what Angelica said" but instead of singing it from the first verse she sang it from the second one, and when she reached "how they perceived you" the music wouldn't have stopped like she expected and she would've realized. But there's a pause there anyway, so she can continue with "I'm rereading the letters you wrote to me" as if nothing happened, so it would be a minor mistake that people would only notice if they knew the lyrics well.
