Yes, we are those “privileged drummers” …so we have to be doing well!…lol. You are so right, rudiments are our foundation and very important. Take it slow and be patient getting the drags into place. Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments. I am happy to help. I will always be rooting for you!! Happy Drumming!🥁😊
Yes, drags can add a great layer to many rhythms we play. They allow us to emphasize certain notes without overpowering the groove. Drags create subtle accents, giving rhythms more depth and complexity. Plus they are fun to play, requiring some finer control and finesse in our playing style. And I was only kidding when I said life’s a drag in the vid. Life‘s a drag if you make it a drag, so let’s always make it great instead!…lol Thank you for commenting and Happy Drumming!😊🥁🙏🏻🇺🇸
@@DrumsByLiz I've always felt that drags lend an element of crack snap flash when effectively utilized. And while we're at it, a ratamacue or two, too can bring life to the party. I guess my appreciation for these these things can be attributed to my early training in drum corps many years ago. Also, an admiration for Gene Krupa in the beginning didn't hurt.

I'm always game for drags, ruffs, diddles on the kit!
Me too! So many creative and fun ways to work them into our playing style.

Let's hear it for drags. Always enjoyed playing them as well as hearing them.
