I wish my children’s teacher would have had this for parents. Sending our babies to school can be hard. Having this video to show parents our kids are safe and being treated with love can help with that anxiety.
Disagree I don't want access to any of your children and I don't want you having access to my child. There is a such thing as privacy. That's why we don't say the child's name that is involved in incidents with your child or other children. Let go and let them grow.
Awesome job! It is wonderful having male teachers teacher in the primary. Over the years I had 3 male sudent teachers. I retired teaching Kindergarten in 2020 after 40 years. It is very important to model everything for the students and praise them often. This truly brings back wonderful memories of my precious Kindergarteners!
IF YOU HAVE BEEN A TEACHER FOR 25 YEARS, AND YOU CONDONE THIS FREAK TEACHING SOBER MINDED CHILDREN., YOU ARE THE DISGRACEFUL ECUSE FOR THIS PROFOUNDED FOOLISHNESS., YOU SHOULD BE ARREST WITH THIS FREAK
Everyone we need to vote for all kindergarten teachers to have an aide!! Kindergarten teachers are stuck between pre-K and elementary and every one seems to forget that some of these kids just turned five!
I agree. I teach Transitional Kindergarten without an aide. I will have 13 four year olds with a drop-in aide, but I don’t know when or for how long. Makes it hard to plan important small group work.
I taught JK for 31 years in Ontario Canada..I had at least 23-26 3-4 year olds in the group. These children are very well behaved and look more like 5-6 year olds.I miss those days,I love Mr Greg's enthusiasm and great instructions.Have a great school year.
Love this! Awesome job Mr. Greg. The kiddos were engaged and paying close attention to you. The most relatable part was the woman bringing in a new student mid-routine. 🤣 Also loved how you said “See my beautiful face?” And one little girl turned to laugh and another student very matter-of-factly said, “Yeah.”
Hi! I loved watching this video so much. So many great ideas, introductions, and opportunities to model for students (and me!). I was wondering where you got your rug and what song you all play at the end? Thank you so much for sharing your classroom with us!
Mr. Greg, you are a wonderful, inspiring teacher. I noticed your trampoline. I have several children who seem to need a sensory outlet in my class. We sing, dance, and move in almost every lesson, but some seem to need more. I am curious as to how you incorporate the trampoline. I feel like some of the students who would benefit most would not follow the rules of using it even after explicitly teaching and practicing. I say that because I've tried it with things such as musical instruments and they are so impulsive that I've had to take the "fun" thing in order to follow through with my warnings.
My nephew is starting kindergarten soon and this would be his dream! "PJ Masks" lighting, balloons, dancing and a teacher with hot pink shoes!! He'd be over the moon. Also, you seem like an excellent teacher. Thanks for sharing what a first day can look like. Have a great school year!!
the kids are so seet and well-behaved. after watching many episodes of supernanny and bratty kids, it's heart warming to see these well-mannered children!
You are such a great teacher. Keep up the good work. Makes me feel a little better seeing that video. Because i am terrifying 9f letting go of my baby going to school.
I'm going to start my student teaching in January. I go to a year around college so I start in January. I am watching videos of teachers teaching elementary students because my degree is from preschool to 3rd grade. I hope I learn a lot of new ideas.
It's great seeing what your first day in kindergarten looks like in America!! Have you ever done a video that runs all day long? I see that this video is from last year - would it be possible to one in 2022? Not sure when the American school year starts though. Here it begins in February. I've been teaching for several years now (I teach 5-8 year olds) but am always interested in how other teachers run their first day to help kids learn routines and procedures. Also, it's fascinating seeing the difference between NZ and the US.
Hello Mr. Greg, just wanted to let you know that balloons a choking hazard and that you're covering up the alphabet on the wall. It makes it very hard for the students to refer to it if they can't see it.
Pencils are a choking hazard. Grapes are a choking hazard. Crayons are a choking hazard. There are unlimited choking hazards in our world so we are of course being careful and professional and keeping out students safe. As for the alphabet, this is day 1 of school. We're not referring to the alphabet on day 1. We're making sure we eat and get home safely. The balloons come down after a day or two so they have zero impact on our learning.
Mr Greg, you were wonderful in giving step by step directions for their first day of school! I taught 1-4 for 34 years! My other comment in you have a hard time with carrying a tune. That’s okay except I think it’s hard for them to know what the tune really is. Would it help you to plunk it out on the piano before you teach it?
Wow. Really??? I’m a teacher (and a human with feelings, BTW!) and not a singer. I’m not trying to teach them a tune because I’m not a music teacher. What I am doing, is teaching them have fun and take risks and be their best selves. And I’m teaching them that if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. From now on, if you don’t like what someone is sharing, please keep scrolling.
Janet. I’m not sure where you learned your manners but dang, you don’t seem to have any. If this were a music class, I could see commenting on a teachers “tune” however, this is NOT a music class and Greg is NOT. Music teacher. Do you say stuff like that to people church that are signing next to you? I would venture to guess, no. Soooo, next time if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Heck, even the 5 yr olds in this classroom know better than to say something like that to someone. Do you have any idea how hurtful that can be to someone? Especially someone who is sharing their content to help educators all around the world!? Then you come along and tell them they can’t carry a “tune.” Guess what Mr. Greg will probably think the next time he starts to have fun and sing with his class? He’ll probably think about that hateful lady who made a hurtful comment on his video. You owe home an apology!! And need to learn some manners!!
Legally, wondering how it’s possible you are allowed to post videos with minors involved? Do the masks somehow make that possible? Is this public or private school? Bc, public school doesn’t allow this where I’m from because a child can not choose to avoid school to avoid being posted online. Im assuming your state requires you to have signed media permission forms from all of these kids legal guardians to post this on you tube???? Some kids don’t have masks… so not sure how it’s possible for masks to get you past the rules. There is so much teachers would love to post to showcase ideas, but can’t because of all the rules protecting minors. You Tube especially has rules about minors. Privacy violations are serious in CA and several states. So curious….
Except not really. I end up with 16-24. I see so many teachers with that many or less. I’ve had as many as 27 and still do the same things with the same success.
Are you a teacher? Just curious. As a college educated professional who understands how kids learn and what works and what doesn't work, I can assure you our classroom is great for kids. If it was an issue for any students, we would make changes because that's what teachers do. Despite all of the nasty, toxic, LIES being spread about teachers, we're amazing at what we do and we always have the best interest of our students at the forefront of all we do. So you can have a seat. And if you really care, go volunteer in a school and see just how amazing they are.
I'm sorry you had/have to do the stupid mask thing. It literally gets touched and handled day in and day out. So it's not even effective at that point. There's no way to avoid touching it, it's hard to breathe, and it's hard to communicate.
@@gregsmedley this video popped on my feed for I have no idea why? If you don’t want criticism than I suggest not putting videos on you tube. I didn’t see an inappropriately dressed women teacher in your video, I only saw you, like I said I’m so thankful I can still homeschool my children.
Hahaha inappropriately dressed….whatever. You would have complained about something else even if you didn’t like my pants. Kindly keep scrolling and keep your mean comments to yourself. No one has time for your negativity.
