my son just graduated from his "Goldfish" swimming class, so I made this for our teacher as a thank you gift. Such a cute easy pattern, thank you for sharing
It is a testament to the designer that the finished product looks just like the sample worked up in the video. So cute and so easy. I allowed myself to get squirreled with this fishy as it looked like a quick project. This was supposed to be a toy for my kitty but it worked up SO CUTE that I'm keeping it for myself.
I made one and it turned out amazing! Thanks for the tutorial! For the pectoral fins, I made them bigger and more showy by using the same technique as how you made the tail. This is the pattern: *back loop only* Chain 5 Row 1: 4 sc, chain 4, turn work Row 2: 7 sc, chain 1, turn work Row 3: 7 sc, chain 4, turn work Row 4: 10 sc, leave a moderate length of yarn to sew to the side.
I love this pattern. I have made sooo many of these. They look super cute in clear containers like aquariums and for my most recent batch I crocheted around wire for row 6 of the tail to have a bit more control over tail positioning.
My brother has two pet fish, he had to travel to another city for his first job and i'm taking care of his little boys. It's been almost a year and I literally have to send him pictures of them periodically so he can be sure his little fellas are ok. I'll surprise him with this amigurumis. :) Thank you for this pattern!!
Thankyou! My grandkids have just got two goldfish. One - Dave the Magical CheeseWizard belongs to my eldest Granddaughter. My Grandson has to share his fish with his step sibling. This way I can make him a goldfish of his own!❤
Do you have just a write up of the pattern somewhere? I appreciate the video tutorial but I find it way easier to follow if i can also just read the steps on a page as I'm going
@@TheCrippledCrafter I also do this, have my book in front of me as I write this 🤗 if I ever find the process to be too slow for my writing I speed up the video, find this very helpful!
Omg I loved this pattern, it was my first time making Amigurumi, and I made a million more! Its so fun and I memorized the pattern almost fully. This is so cute and I really recommend it to other beginners
My 8 yr old wanted a fish tank full of crochet fish. This pattern is amazing! love the extra ideas as well it's a great base for imagination! My finished fish was a bit larger than intended so I will use a smaller hook and yarn but I'm also curious on how it would work up in some blanket yarn! Thanks for this beautiful pattern! ( I also crochet through chronic pain; your page is inspirational!)
I love these! They are the cutest thing crocheted ever. Huh, I didn’t even know I liked fish! Thank you for sharing this. I’m still new at crocheting. I got the basics down, but I’m still a little slow. My biggest problem I have is, getting my yarn to flow through my fingers as I work. I either hold it to tight, or way to loose. I’m practicing different ways I see people on here hold theirs. Anyway, when I get that down, I’m gonna make a hundred of these little guys! Thanks again!
Cheers :). I remember how frustrating trying to get your tension consistent could be! I found that it was just a matter of practice....lots of practice lol. Happy crocheting!
Oh how darling! I have made a gold fish many years sgo and I wasn't fully happy with it. I may give this one a try. You have so many adorable tutorials I just can't keep up!
I made one year's ago too, before I started creating my own patterns but it ended up being quite large. I wanted something small and cute for this design 😊
I appreciate the tutorial. I’ll probably write down the instructions too, but I’ve enjoyed making this one per tutorial. Thank you for taking the time.
I'm making this little guy right now in red. ❤ Thank you for the tutorial. :) It's working up nicely as I follow along. Btw- If anyone needs the written instructions, they're in the UA-cam transcript in the video description. Or you can copy it from the video as you watch. Best wishes to everyone, and enjoy your little fish. :)
"Little goldfish friends for the aquarium enthusiast.....who doesn't have an aquarium." damn this describes me so well^^" Anyway I am in the making of one, working on the tail, right now and I have to agree with the other commenters, so far I am linking the design very much and very easy to follow vid.
Really lovely, so cute. Well explained, good quality of the video. And very important: nice to listen to your voice, good to follow, very pleasant. Thank you very much!!! 😻✌🏻😍🍀🌸
This tutorial is so easy to follow and understandable! I love how well this is made and put together! Also my gold fish turned out ADORABLE. And just in time for Christmas 😉
so cute i will make one for my brother. he has 5 fishtanks at home as a late Birthday Present(his birthday was September 11th but on this day we don't celebrate )
What does increase mean? Specifically the 6th round, when you say one single crochet, six increases is that like 6 half crochets in one loop? And then another one single crochet and then six increases again and so on?
This is an amazing tutorial! But i have a little question im almost finnished up whit it but I made it whit plushie yarn and the tail wont hold up its su folded do you have any tips on how i can fix that?
I haven't tried it, so take these suggestions with a grain of salt but blocking the tail might help or if you have some floral wire (or something similar) make a 'frame' around the entire outer edge of the tail and then single crochet it to the tail. The wire might help it maintain it's shape.
I am so making itttttt oh yn god FISHIES i only have one big project right now that is just. crocheting rows the same exact way and others are finished so i got a bit bored with older stuff that i have made already and here right into my lap falls a cute little fish!!!!! I am SO making this (and i have so many good for fish colors this is like fate or smth)
@@Thysillia You're awesome ty. Made 2 of these little guys, but had thought of that after my second one. I "think" I read that I need to crochet the fin pattern backwards to make it go the other way, just a few days ago, but haven't tried it yet. I've been too busy
❤ muy lindo, por favor😊, para los LATINOS, PODRIA AGREGAR, Y EDITAR EL VIDEO CON SUBTÍTULOS EN ESPAÑOL , O INGLÉS PARA CADA RONDA DEL PATRÓN ❤?? MUCHAS GRACIAS
You could embroider eyes on, use buttons or crochet them. To crochet them, just put six single crochet in a magic circle and sew them on. If six is two large, try four or five.
I love this pattern. I am making it now. How did you attach the bulging eyes? All around the edge or just in one place? I have made a couple of the other patterns as well. Thank you for doing this I really like watching and making your patterns.
I am new to crochet and am yet to start my first amigurumi project, but how does yarn size and hook effect this project? I have chunky yarn I’m looking to start with. Will this mean I have to make changes or will it just mean that the project itself is bigger?
You have a couple of options. Sew/glue on some buttons, embroider on some eyes or crochet two small circles and sew those on. Usually four or six single crochet (depends on yarn weight and hook size) in a magic circle does the trick.

Have you hear of a tension ring? Could help you a bit. Also personaly I like to unraval a lot of yarn helps me loosen up my stitiches.
Still can't get over how cute they are!!!!!

Perfect timing 😂.
I usually like having small projects to help break up larger one's too, it makes them less monotonous.
What does it mean turn work
Question: If I crochet front loop only on a tail piece, will it curl the opposite direction? Sorry I'm new at this
To be totally honest with you, I don't know. I've never tried it.
Sorry, I couldn't be more helpful on this one.
I tried it, mine curved the same way. It did curve a bit less and had less pronounced ridges.

What weight yarn of 8ply?
I'm pretty sure 8ply is equivalent to DK weight.
