All of this seems based on the premise that the only value available is succumbing to the primate-level social element of humanity and agreeing that your happiness, survival and value are in everyone else's hands and up to them to determine. If you are an extrovert or otherwise socially-needy, that may be sadly true for you. And if any of these 6 things are true of you then, yes, you are probably one of these people. But there are people for whom the other option for personal growth is to improve yourself independently and become more self-sufficient so that your needs are not in the hands of the hordes or their opinions of you. And it is not just human animals whose benefit is a worthy pursuit. If you bring value to any living thing on this planet, especially animals that are less driven by the unimpressive truths this video paints about humans, that is probably of higher and purer value and meaning, and is therefore often more fulfilling than simply transactional. Presuming that all your happiness will be brought by winning the girl, impressing the boss, becoming popular or famous among the masses of people you don't even know, etc... that is another game your mind plays on you and it satisfies almost no-one who pursues those things under the hope those things will be the solution to their problems. Be a better and happier you without needing the girl or the praise, offer important things to species to whom the rest of humanity is essentially cancerous, and develop the ability to independently create your own happiness and self-fulfillment. If this doesn't make sense to you or your brain reacts with the same kinds of excuses as this video describes for the social-credit realm of "self improvement", then good luck to you. Because you won't end up with the pay-off you're aiming for by trying to convince everyone else to appreciate you for stuff you do only to gain that appreciation.

No fat, salt or sugar added. Thank you so much for all the efforts in the making of your presentation. That subject is just where the tire meets the road.
This all only applies to the ego... ... if you live by the ego and for the ego, then, yes, this is how it will all be for you. But the ego is not the real you, and this shallow transactional manipulation you describe is not the only experience of life possible. Rather than learning to play the game at the level of ego, do the work to clear the ego, and live a life truly free and fulfilled within. :)
Relationships are transactional. You can love and adore someone for years, but if they do not reciprocate, what are you gaining? What is the point? How can they make you happy? What do they do for you that justifies your undying affection? Even a successful person who is shut off from the world will never find meaningful relationships because they refuse to give or receive any love themselves.
I recognize myself in some of the attitudes presented. However, I don't feel offended or angry at all. I appreciate being told the truth about myself. THANKS!
You just restated what I've always believed, that all human interactions are basically selfish and will never occur unless it benefited one or both parties. Think deeply about even the nicest human interaction or behavior and you will find a self component to each and every one of them. I suppose that is why I have so few friends right now, because I know that they will just use me until I dry up and then dump me in search of a new victim to bleed dry. What hurts the most is that I frequently found these kind of people in church.

A very useful piece of advice. I gave up doing anything for the community several years ago for two reasons. It made no difference to anyone. Second, we have a welfare government and they should do their work. If I find anything to be set right, I approach the right people in the government, and, 90percent of the time, the job gets done. I paint well, write well, edit learned papers and am a fitness freak. I know now that people watch me closely. So far, several of them have told me that they look up to me as a source of inspiration without really knowing anything about me beyond what they can observe. Being impressed by myself is not a possibility. It is only through external observations that a person could seem to be impressive to another. If one is impressed by themselves it would be narcissistic at best.
Perhaps I misunderstood, but I would disagree. I occasionally am pleasantly surprised, for instance when trying to play a song for the first time on the guitar, how well it goes. Isn't that the same as being impressed by oneself? The reverse of course also happens.
