Netherland's Sifan Hassan won the women's 5,000m final at #Tokyo2020, with a time of 14:36.79, and became the first Dutch woman to win an Olympic medal in a long-distance event.

Ms Sifan Hassan’s achievement of triple medal (2 golds n a bronze) at d 2020 olympics was truly inspiring n worth emulating. Even falling during d race was not an obstacle. Rising up n winning d medal was simply amazing n unbelievable n can be included in d ‘believe or not ‘ category. Is there a limit to d human spirit? I wonder. Congratulations Ms Hassan. You have given so much hope to so many to excel in athletics n in real life. Pls use your triumph to inspire everyone to think positive n to spread love n concern (NOT hate n war) to our brothers n sisters around d world. Always smile n be happy.
It was always a big ask to expect a victory in the 1500m against Faith Kipyegon. She did well in the 5000m and 10000m.
She is now london and Chicago marathon champion in 2023
So grateful for spoiler-free replays. Hassan is amazing especially since she fell earlier in the night int he 1500m prelim and had to sprint to recover.

I have just watched your magnificent first Olympic gold medal run in Tokyo after discovering you during Paris 2024. I literally did not have time to watch Toyko 2020, for the first time in my life. I'm so glad I managed to take 2 weeks off this time and see your 3 great Paris medals, culminating with the marathon on the final day. You are now my all time favourite female Ethiopian runner and I will follow your progress for years to come. I am now going back and watching all of your races on UA-cam one by one. Even though I knew the result of this one, it was a joy to see the manner in which you dominated the final lap. You are a massive source of inspiration to me Sifan. I love you.
Absolutely astounding final lap. 57.36! You sometimes see that from the men in Diamond League 5000m races. And a 2:39 final kilometre is so quick it almost doesn't make sense.
