Very Cohesive play from Italy. Plenty of Plus points in their play style - Excellent Block Coordination, Absolute trust in their Ace, Mind Blowing Defense from every player on the court but the setting... Orro has pulled off some really incredible setting in this match, TOTALLY invisible if you do not follow the way she was using almost every attacker within range. She knew the strengths of each player on the court, their stamina levels too as she was preserving the ace for stronger attacks and using other team members to compensate. It has been a treat to watch this match. USA clearly has a lot more potential. It'll be a treat if the same US team comes back seasoned with their own unity and understanding. Till then, Congratulations on your First Olympic Gold Medal, Italy - you deserve this 200% !!

Honestly considering how the team looked against China I was satisfied with them winning Silver. this in my opinion is the most important aspect. the great effectiveness of this group has been achieved through the valorization of each individual that has been brought to the maximum and put at the service of the team. Egonu has always been strong, but until a few years ago she hit hard but made mistakes and was not precise, she was not always thoughtful in her attack choices, today she is a dominant player who not only uses the power of her shots but simply decides how and where to play the ball at any moment, in these last matches I have never seen her make a mistake. the same goes for Sylla, before often imprecise and inconsistent and today a certainty.

Very Cohesive play from Italy. Plenty of Plus points in their play style - Excellent Block Coordination, Absolute trust in their Ace, Mind Blowing Defense from every player on the court but the setting... Orro has pulled off some really incredible setting in this match, TOTALLY invisible if you do not follow the way she was using almost every attacker within range. She knew the strengths of each player on the court, their stamina levels too as she was preserving the ace for stronger attacks and using other team members to compensate. It has been a treat to watch this match.
USA clearly has a lot more potential. It'll be a treat if the same US team comes back seasoned with their own unity and understanding. Till then, Congratulations on your First Olympic Gold Medal, Italy - you deserve this 200% !!

Honestly considering how the team looked against China I was satisfied with them winning Silver. Now the women’s team can build for 2028 in LA over the next four years where I think they should be competitive.
