    "Bernardo Faria is a 5x World Champion. Bernardo started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Juiz de Fora - MG, Brazil at the age of 14 in 2001. After receiving the Black Belt from his first instructor Ricardo Marques in 2008, He moved to Sao Paulo to join BJJ legend Fabio Gurgel and his Alliance team.       JiuJitsu is a never ending study. With so many positions and scenarios and with new techniques being invented every few years, it's literally impossible to know everything. Always open yourself up to learning.

    Not really teaching anything specific here. But at the same time, he puts so many small details on a variety of positions. Awesome.

    I love how Gordon is using the proper terminology for different holds and positions. Strangle hold vs Choke hold. Referee's position vs Turtle position. Etc.
    Really shows the depth of his knowledge, pulling from Catch wrestling, judo and jiu-jitsu to combine into one fluent submission grappling style.

      @@yeahdaegzzzzz9831 Marcelo stole most of his "ground breaking" stuff from different wrestling styles. He just had renamed. Gordon went back to using original terminology.

      Pins are included in the BJJ ruleset. That's what side control and mount are

    nice to see that bjj is suddenly evolving into Luta Livre, its brazilian counter part, who allways was big on wrestling (as well as leglocks, when they were still considered dirtry)

      Luta Livre is the Brazilian counterpart to Brazilian jiujitsu? Gordon Ryan is the American counterpart to Garry Tonon.

      Yes have been thinking the same with emphasis on leg locks now. Hoping that Luta livre will start getting more credit and long term all clubs will be running programs in both to represent gi and submission grappling respectively
