As someone going into game dev, developer conferences and more specifically the different reactions to them from different people are really interesting to me. And as you said, there's something special about watching and hearing the hype around these announcements.
There's not really anything like this for any other form of media. I'd make a video essay on the topic if I knew how to edit, but until then my full thoughts will remain unshared, since this is about as much as I can comment before it gets too rambly.

Can we talk about how absolutely *ADORABLE* the characters look in this HD Style. The original SNES classic already has a toyetic feel to it, but this game cranks up the cute factor to 11 in all the best possible ways.

If u know anything about gaming u would know these 3d models suck and are the absolute easiest and laziest way to remaster this game. If Nintendo actually cared they would of stuck wit pixel graphics and made modern sprites for the game which takes WAY more work.

Given now that the only way to play this classic is either buying an expensive cartridge or emulation, this remake is FANTASTIC!!! 🎉
It’s trash real gamers know the crap 3d models scream lazy cashgrab. It would of taken way more work to stick with the pixel graphics and make modern sprites which lazy Nintendo would never do.
@@getpape4126 I disagree because it still takes a lot of time and effort to create and animate 3d models like these (so it isn’t lazy). I can understand not being a fan of the art style but wouldn’t say it’s garbage.

First time a reveal made me tear up. This game taught me how to read better and get into rpgs. I was 7. My son is turning 7 in October.

Easily the best announcement of the Direct, literally had me nearly shedding tears. I was so happy to see this as a longtime childhood fan of this game, glad to see all the excited reactions to this.
This was literally tear jerking for me. This game is so special to me and thought it was just forgotten. Specially with square not letting Geno in smash. Just knowing more people are gonna enjoy a game that brought me so much happiness in my childhood is just amazing. Can’t wait to replay. I’ve been hoping for a remake for so long but man never thought I see the day 😭
Never gonna forgive Nintendo . They put a stupid piranha plant as a fighter in Smash instead of Geno .

I like how he became calm for a sec when it was still pixelated and thought it was coming to switch online but nintendo trolled us and gave us a better ending.

I teared up watching this because it brought me right back to those summer nights in the late 90s when I fell in love with Mario and this game.
I’m so happy for so many people. So many UA-camrs I’ve watched over the years who have been begging for this game and to hear the pure JOY in your voice upon this announcement makes me so happy.

I love game companies that make remakes of older lovable games in HD, it's such an exciting feauture now days and it benefits both parties too, the developers and consumers.

yoko shimomura, who made the music for the original is returning for the remake, it's a fullon remake with new stuff added like cutscenes, 3d graphics and possibly voice acting, the scene where geno is in the air about to attack his mouth moves like he's saying something

I was like that dude all those years ago with the Final Fantasy VII Remake reveal who was like “Don’t be a movie, please god, don’t be a movie”

The game was called merely "Super Mario RPG" in Japan, so they are dropping the subtitle "Legend of the 7 Stars" to make the title release more cohesive and seemless across the worlwide release.

We need to find out who over at Nintendo is making all of the uncharacteristically really cool decisions and get them promoted. Like, whoever said “yeah, let’s go ahead and talk to Microsoft about getting Banjo in Smash, let’s greenlight a Deadly Premonition sequel, and let’s greenlight a Mario RPG remake”, _that’s_ the people who need to be in charge.
