- I do love a laurel hedge! Hurry up and grow so I block out my neighbour! I've linked the laurel plants below - what a bargain.
Laurel stands out as an exceptional choice for creating hedges and natural screens. This evergreen species grows rapidly, outpacing all other evergreen hedging plants apart from conifers like Leylandii or Thuja. Thus, if you're not inclined towards a coniferous boundary, Laurel hedging could be your preferred alternative.
The plant boasts sizable, glossy leaves with a vibrant green hue, and come springtime, it is adorned with abundant white blossoms on racemes-a structure consisting of a central stem surrounded by numerous flowers. However, it's worth noting that when the hedge undergoes regular trimming, these potential flowers are often removed. Post-bloom, Laurel bears inedible red berries that mature to a deep black.

I did the same l got cherry laurels, fast growing to give me some privacy and to block out my neighbour, they’re well over 6ft now and I’m happy with them however l was watching gardeners world and Monty don was saying the better one is the Portuguese laurel because nothing grows under or near the cherry laurel and the leaves are toxic so dispose of the dropped ones safely in your garden bin and not in your compost heap…love your channel

I bought some 7ft tree’s a few years back as I wanted the privacy straight away, they were not cheap. I sold that property, I just hope the new owners looked after them 🌲
I drive past one of my old houses. They’ve let them go yellow. Feel like leaving plant feed and a note on the doorstep !
