Finally someone that agrees with me about Curlmix. I can’t argue it’s a natural brand but their flaxseed gel and moisturizer did not cut it for me. Thank god I bought the sample sizes and I tried two of their scents and they at first left my hair soft and defined but after day 1 my hair lost all of that. Everyone else also praised Curlmix and I just couldn’t understand 🤷🏻♀️ why. The Moisturizer left my hair greasy as well. I’ll just stick to Devacurl for now lol.
The Garnier products don’t have any oils or butters in the first five ingredients so I already know I would hate it. They clearly wanted to cash in on the natural hair dollar but didn’t do their research to make it a good product.
I so agree, like many other brands that have been out there for years, now they want to make products for curly hair. Ha!!! Where were they when I was a kid and did not have any curly hair products. I wouldn't buy their products if they were charging a penny a piece.

Hi Lydia, love your middle part! Thanks for the tips. Fortunately I never purchased those products. After traveling on this hair journey you know what works. Personally I love clarifying shampoos, deep conditioners & gels. Their are so many products to choose from you can easily get influenced. Read the ingredients and purchase what your hair likes. Anyhow thanks for all you do.
Your curls look so juicy, shiny and defined. Wow! I haven't used Curly Magic in a while. I must pull it out. Lol. Oh no, I just ordered the Alikay Lemongrass gel. Well I hope I can return it! Your CurlMix review is very interesting. There are hundreds that swear by those products. I too tried them and got an average wash and go, but it only lasted one day. So disappointed. I am going to try them again or maybe use the moisturizer under another gel. Glad to have you back my sister.

I prefer the gel as a one and done and you definitely have to follow their directions and apply to wet hair and then diffuse to dry. My curls are similar to yours and I have the Watermelon scent too. The scent fades and I end up soft and lasting curls (though not as shiny as that beautiful Curly Magic wash and go you got going on)! I love videos like this. 👏🏾

Save🙅🏽♀️. My girl is back💃🏽. We are so on the same page Lydia💯. CurlMix is EXTREMELY overrated. I had purchased the gel and the hair moisturizer after watching a UA-cam video, made by a CurlMix ambassador. So, they charge between $25 and $28, for a bs 8 oz bottle of product that’s good for day 1 hair. I went through like 1/4 of the bottle with a single wash n’ go. This being that I have shoulder length hair, 3b curls and your texture hair. I find that ambassadors are very bias and don’t take well to negative feedback, which isn’t right at all. If a person doesn’t like the product, it is what it is. That Alikay Naturals gel is crap as well, as we spoke about before. It has that weird rubber-like feel to it. I’m sure Alikay Naturals will eventually correct that. For the most part, they do make great products. Thanks so much for always being real, and taking the good with the bad. I agree. The type you buy “repair, moisture” also makes a difference - they all have different oils. I use the sensitive/fragrance free one and I have a similar hair texture/porosity and it gave me one of my best wash n gos

Tbh I think it is just better to use more expensive products that’ll do more good for your hair than opting for cheap products that do more harm than good. So I just go for Camille Rose, Mane Choice, or handmade natural hair care from small black businesses.

The garnier jelly LEFT MY HAIR ROCK HARD. I tried going in with a pick to lift my hair off my scalp for some volume cause the jelly had literally made my roots lay flat, AND IT HURT CAUSE THE HOLD OF THE JELLY WAS so STRONG AND STIFF that my hair was basically frozen in place. I ALSO had so much breakage from this product too! The first time I used it I used it without a leave in and I was more light handed I don’t mind a little crunch so it wasn’t that bad but the second time I used a light leave in first and went in a little heavier and WOW I regretted it!
I love the Fructis line.... the smoothie and the gel WITH a leave in, leave my curls defined with extra hold.... I have low porosity hair, maybe thats why. You need to watch this curly girls channel on porosity, shes new on youtube, but she really knows her stuff... the curlyninja is the name of the channel..... helped me ALOT

But now I know what was in...I think it was the CoN Pure Honey line? that was making my hair dry (not as bad as Palmer's but a couple of products didn't moisturize the way I expected, and since I'm new to proper care, I had no idea why). My hair isn't just sensitive to isopropyl, it HATES isopropyl. lol Funny thing is, it's just fine with dimethicone (I try to limit/avoid it anyway).
Save..... I tried the curl mix flax seed line and it smells great but does not do anything for my hair. On the other hand it works amazingly on my 4 y/o’s hair which is a lot thinner and much more spirally then mine.
I think it’s just the watermelon fragrance because i tried out the gel from the watermelon line of curl mix and my hair felt drying the lavender and vanilla berry one is good

That Curly Magic is an awesome product! I love it!
The garnier jelly LEFT MY HAIR ROCK HARD. I tried going in with a pick to lift my hair off my scalp for some volume cause the jelly had literally made my roots lay flat, AND IT HURT CAUSE THE HOLD OF THE JELLY WAS so STRONG AND STIFF that my hair was basically frozen in place. I ALSO had so much breakage from this product too! The first time I used it I used it without a leave in and I was more light handed I don’t mind a little crunch so it wasn’t that bad but the second time I used a light leave in first and went in a little heavier and WOW I regretted it!
Like I’m literally scared to try it again cause I’ve only used it twice omg

I love the Fructis line.... the smoothie and the gel WITH a leave in, leave my curls defined with extra hold.... I have low porosity hair, maybe thats why. You need to watch this curly girls channel on porosity, shes new on youtube, but she really knows her stuff... the curlyninja is the name of the channel..... helped me ALOT

The entire Palmer's Natural Fusions line was a fail, except for the oil. EVERYTHING included isopropyl alcohol and dried my hair out badly.

@@LydiaTefera Yea, it was very disappointing. But now I know what was in...I think it was the CoN Pure Honey line? that was making my hair dry (not as bad as Palmer's but a couple of products didn't moisturize the way I expected, and since I'm new to proper care, I had no idea why). My hair isn't just sensitive to isopropyl, it HATES isopropyl. lol Funny thing is, it's just fine with dimethicone (I try to limit/avoid it anyway).

Save..... I tried the curl mix flax seed line and it smells great but does not do anything for my hair. On the other hand it works amazingly on my 4 y/o’s hair which is a lot thinner and much more spirally then mine.

I think it’s just the watermelon fragrance because i tried out the gel from the watermelon line of curl mix and my hair felt drying the lavender and vanilla berry one is good
