A Virgo seeing your post reminds me of the episode of Fresh Prince where Will and Carlton get arrested because the white cops assumed they stole the car. Then Will tells it how it is “if you see a black guy driving anything better than a burnt out pinto, you better stop him because he stole it.” Most white people assume are all broke and can’t afford anything and if we have cash, we peddle in drugs. Smh these phone callers needs to be charged with falsifying a police report.
I didn't want to watch the whole thing again to verify it, but did the renters of the AirB&B have a contract? And did they show that, as well as ID, to the police? If so, that should hae ended the whole thing right then and there. Sounds like a clear case of racial profiling to me.
@George L I'm pretty sure she knows they weren't burglarers. Educated looking people coming out of a home with their luggage only doesn't look like a burglary. It looks like people traveling. I have lived in plenty of areas where burglaries take place. In the 80s when I was a kid, it happened to our home a few times and we always came back home to see the damages then we called the police. To this day, I wouldn't assume those 4 individuals were burglarizing the home. I would look out the window and say oh, maybe they're new to the area. Maybe they're visiting or something of that nature. If the lady wanted a wave, she should have waved first and asked them politely what they were doing or where the home owner was. The lady was racist just like the cops. In the video, they clearly stated even after they showed the cops the Airbnb email. They still refused to believe the group in an attempt to escalate the situation. Luckily no one was hurt and I'm sure that was the old lady's goal as well as those so called officers who showed up. Too bad you're too blind and naive to see that. I'm sure if being singled out, harassed, or stared at became an almost every day occurrence to you (white boy) you would be able to tell when someone is behaving in a racist manner. You don't experience that nonsense though, but guess what? Black People do, especially in this country so people already feel the racism when it shows it's ugly face. Black people don't complain about racism if it didn't feel that way. You can blame your kind for that.
@George L You sound silly. First of all plenty of middle aged and older people use Airbnb. Secondly I own plenty of rental properties in actual prominent areas and I never inform the neighbors. It's none of their fucking business.
The police weren't property diligent. Was the house broken into or did they have a key? Do burglars normally carry luggage? I don't wave at my neighbors. Not waving at somebody isn't a crime.
Not to mention, they're carrying luggage. I can't wave at someone while carrying luggage. As I said in a previous comment. I don't blame the neighbors. I blame the police and the home owners. Home owners should have informed others that they would have guests in thier home while they were out of town.
@@curtisfranzen986 but why do I have to inform the Neighbors I'm going out of town 😐 I'm renting my house like I would think ppl know how to mind their God damn business.
@@normster1000 logic being i bet the lady has rented the place before to people who must have ben white. Did she wave to them? Did they wave back? did she call the police? Probably not. Because she called the police and sad 3 black people are stealing stuff.
What I don’t understand is if the police showed the home owners DMV picture to the people that rented the Airbnb, but didn’t believe them when they confirmed it was the person they rented the home from, why didn’t they show the DMV picture to the neighbour and have her confirm whether that was the home owner.
That's what I thought too. If they had an Air B and B there would have been other people renting in on occasion, walking in and out with luggage. No, she was a racist and so was the cop.
Agreed. I live right next to a BnB residence and I have seen folks of all races, skin color and nationality rent it and my neighbors and I have never ever called the police or felt uncomfortable by their presence. This is just stupid and silly. Mind your own business and live your life and let others live theirs.
Even if she didn't know her neighbour well, it's impossible not to know a house across the road is doing air-b&b, you just cannot miss all the coming and goings every week on a street like that, for the average stay is 3 days, I guess she is really stupid and just saw black!
She's so fucking weird lmao. She reminds me of my crazy ass neighbor. One time she called the cops bc I got a new car and parked it in front of the house and she didn't know whose car it was 😑 who calls the cops for that? 🤣
That's ridiculous though. If your house was robbed and your neighbor watched the people do it but did nothing to stop it, would you really be ok with "I was minding my own business"? I know I'd be pissed at my neighbor if they didn't call the police, me, or my family at the very least.
@@browniegreen1090 Nothing wrong within the black community though, huh? A "racial overhaul" would include honest reflection of the negative side of black culture.
Mustybone666 there’s a negative side to every culture, we’re addressing this situation in particular right now. When a culture has specifically targeted a segment of society, this needs to be addressed in a serious way. This happens way too often. This is going to take work on everyone’s part. Deflection doesn’t help. Just stating my truth, as I see it.
Weird. That woman claims she knows her neighbor, yet is not aware of the fact that she rents out room(s) under Airbnb? Can't imagine this was the first time she saw customers entering/leaving with a suitcase
"They look strange" was code for "there is black people in my white neighborhood" and the cops jumped on code. They are not happy when we just be. #CanILive
akillah Proctor they look strange because of their behavior..and that they didn't LIVE in the house they were coming out of.....and weren't friendly....some places have friendly settings...she is an old woman...she thought she was protecting her neighbors...better safe than sorry. Now to me the cops were harassing them...the cops need a new job..
And looking in from outside the US, enablers with moronic mind sets like 'my nightmarish dreamsouls' are making it absolutely diabolical. Constantly trying to excuse covert and overt racist behaviours.
If you were Indian or Chinese in my neighborhood you would be cast out If you didn’t socialize a bit. But that doesn’t happen because the Indians are very smart. In my suburb in California everyone knows everyone. Everyone watches everyone. Some one called the police on me because I lived in Africa for two years and came back to my parents house and the guy didn’t recognize me at my parents house. Some police came asking for my ID and saw my address on it. He told me there was a report of some white male going onto someones lawn.
The W.H. has made us all afraid of each other. However, others are true RACIST- and that's frightening- I.E. this lady and others - p.s I didn't know Black Americans were obligated to 👋 wave, ( is that code)?
"They did not wave"?? She was gonna call the police anyway. I have a neighbor and once I said Hi to her and she told me to "Go back to your country". Thats why I don't bother saying "Hi" to anyone now. 😒
You know what I get tired of hearing Everytime it come to incidents like this is a person's profession I don't think it should matter wether a black person is a professional or not they still matter.

Pff, if they had waved the woman would probably have said "How suspicious", too. It must be horrible to have to live your life through the eyes of (bigoted) white people all the time.
@Jackel's Gate I wouldn't say it's racism. White people don't understand that people from other cultures mind their own business. It wouldn't have made much of a difference if they had waved at the neighbor.
@Jackel's Gate racists today dont activley show it because it is not socially acceptable. so you need the mental capacity to assess the nuance in how people are treated.
Facts. I mean what idiot thief would use the chunkiest item like luggage that is already heavy to steak stuff?? Wouldn’t you use a backpack? 😂 These racists are ridiculous

I can understand why the lady called the police, if I see people coming out of my neighbors house especially with luggage I will at least ask the people or call my neighbors to make sure everything is ok. She may have been scared to ask, maybe she lives alone or is just scared of black people for whatever reason. The police may have screwed up and escalated the situation. The police should have called the neighbors and/or check with air bnb. Point is the neighbor was being a good neighbor based on what i heard in this video. She said strange people, which is true. If anybody other than my neighbors walk out of their house they are strange to me because I don’t know them and I never saw them before. Furthermore she probably never heard of Airbnb. It sucks for people that we’re harassed but this is the world we live in. People call the police for dumber reasons than this.

people have also died because someone was scared to call the cops about someone they believed was breaking into a house. It's not the caller being racist, if the cops were better trained, this never would have been an issue, it would have just been a sheltered old lady trying to do the right thing.

I almost agree, that the caller should be held responsible. (And the caller is partly to blame), However...the truth is...the police, who answer bogus calls...should be held reaponsible, for their actions. And their respective departments. Police tend to believe, every call they get...is somehow legitimate. Police should know...there is always the possibility, that the caller could very well be in the wrong.
I didn't watch this god awful excuse for a news video, it's a social commentary with a very racial spin to it. So yes, I would "miss the point" in that context.
And your point. Maybe she has asthma. I didn't notice anger. You assumed. She had alot to say and only a few minutes. I think you'd called the police too. Too bad.
itsjustgigi 9545 Exactly...and if she did know her neighbors so well, why didn’t she call *them* or, if she didn’t have that number, perhaps call or go over and check in with another neighbor? I have all my neighbors’ numbers in my cell and they have mine. I just can’t imagine calling the COPS on people walking out of the house with luggage. We are all very, very aware of the inherent dangers in calling the police on “suspicious black people” 🙄. Being *black* does not make someone suspicious, coming out of a home *with luggage* does not make someone suspicious, and *not waving* does not make someone suspicious. I live in a very nice, very ethnically, religiously, and age diverse neighborhood. It sounds like this neighborhood could use some diversity...although I don’t know if the lady who called would still be so excited to know her neighbors then 😏.
Ben Jackbag Mank So if this happened to you, you'd be 100% understanding and not the least bit freaked out? I'm a white woman and I'd be thrown if someone called the cops on me for leaving a residence for which I had PAID to stay. Now couple that with the appalling and scary incidents of black people being mistreated by cops and it becomes even more disturbing. And, honestly, do you REALLY think this lady would have called if the young people coming out of the home with luggage were all white?? As a side note: if you feel the need to call people derogatory and disgusting names when trying to make a point, it only serves to make your argument look weak. I'm not "crying" about anything...you're the one who seems all riled up 🤬.
You are a better person then me than Stacie, I know my neighbors names and we talk but I don't have any their numbers and I doubt they have mines. And its the same for other places i lived at. I think what it mostly comes down to is if the neighbor knew the homeowner uses their house as an airbnb. If she is unaware what airbnb is and that it was being used as one i can understand the confusion.
Haxleygv no that’s an excuse if she didn’t know her neighbors number why didn’t she speak to them? Because she was afraid? But she wasn’t afraid enough to go back in the house and call. That’s why she did that in front of them because she wanted them to know she had the power and this is her land and they aren’t welcome period. POINT.BLANK.
Girlonfire 2.0 Never in my life been afraid of a white man or any other man. But I as a black security officer have had white people cross the street or clutch purses as I'm wearing either a suit or my hard security uniform

She accuses them of not being friendly or neighborly or not waving while she stood at her mailbox?!! She was most definitely standing there ogling them, staring, making faces of disapproval looking all kinds of nuts. When someone is staring at you looking all crazy at you, you usually try to ignore it and pay them no mind. And her acting like "they didn't act like neighbors they didn't wave". SHE should've acted like a "friendly neighbor". You know, if she couldn't get ahold of the owners of the house that she apparently knew so well, she could've just walked over with some drinks or something, and been like "Oh hi I'm OldLady Crustydraws, I'm a friend of Lisa and Jimbob McMayonnaise, nice to meet you." Then they would've just said, "Nice to meet you, we're renting the house for a couple days. blah blah friendly banter etc etc." Then the lady would've just said "Cool well I'm right across the street if you guys need anything, have a good day!" But instead she chose to escalate it by making it suspicious and about race. She clearly just had an issue with seeing black people there because the couple rented their house out multiple times before so she couldn't have not been used to seeing people in and out. Don't tell me she was afraid and fearing for her life or some bullshit because if she's out there standing at the mailbox with her phone staring she ain't that damn afraid.
This video is over two years old. Was the recording of the 911 call ever released? If the neighbor called 911 stating that there are people who she does not recognize going in and out of her neighbor's home, then that is not a false police report. However, if she said that the renters were vandalizing the property, becoming violent, etc. when they were not, then that would be a false statement. By itself, informing the authorities that there are people who you do not recognize on your neighbor's property is not a crime.

My thing is why do they need to know? None of their business. If they know I do that then that means they know I'm gone a lot and then they'll rob my ass. I don't need my neighbors knowing my business. That shit is weird
I'm sure it's different everywhere, but while I know my neighbors' first names, I don't actually know their last names or their phone numbers. We're friendly and say hi at the mailbox sometimes, but people come and go over the years, and I'm more of an indoors-on-the-computer kind of person, so I don't really know them all that well. If I saw strangers going in and out of their house, I wouldn't have any way of contacting them to ask about it. I'd be concerned, though. So I might call the police. Not 911, but I might call non-emergency and ask what they think I should do. That might end up how this did, but that'd be the cops' fault, not mine. If the cops start crossing the line and power-tripping, that's on them. That's a whole different problem from race relations. It's really not that insane to think that someone was just trying to have their neighbors' back, same as they'd want their neighbors to have theirs. This really feels like race-baiting to me.
+ItsBillsFault -- Thank you. Finally, a reasoned response. I'm a Black man in his 50's and a homeowner. We, as neighbors, are supposed to keep an eye out for things that are out of the ordinary. (Remember "See Something; Say Something"?) So, in my opinion, this neighbor lady did her job. Right or wrong, she saw something that didn't seem right to her and she called. All other reasons people want to attribute to her don't really matter. This leads us to the response by law enforcement. Now here's where the ball gets dropped. Either AirBnB anticipated this issue cropping up every once in a while and created a Verification Procedure, or there's going to be a mess as the police try to verify who's who. I mean the renters probably have a set of keys, a garage door opener, and a signed AirBnB contract. That should lower the tension quite a bit. It also would have helped if the property owner had informed a few neighbors that he was going to rent his house to various people and not to worry -- or give them his contact number in case of emergency. But that's something I'd expect to happen in friendly neighborhoods.

The lady that called 911 might be a nosy neighbor but this type of neighbor is everywhere so get over it already and stop crying about racial injustice. I read that the lady that called 911 has a black husband...
Ande You hope people would report your house guests? Seriously? I hope you live the life of a hermit because your family and friends are in grave danger for knowing you...
While people like that are calling the cops because a black person "looks suspicious" they miss the white guy who's molesting kids, running a meth lab, contributing to their community's opioid addiction or planning the next mass shooting at a school or place of employment. I wonder how many times she's called the cops on "suspicious looking" white people or would she consider that an oxymoron?
how come the only generalizations that are made are to disparage white people?? the obvious dumbed down answer is "they deserve it" but in reality, how can you fight for one type of person and not the other?? if you are for people being treated as equals how can you lessen one type of person based on one persons actions?? if you can, i can do the same to you right?
Mr. Matt how come? Because the discussion is about a white woman that called the .... never mind. Stats show child molesters and school shootings are MORE LIKELY THAN NOT committed by white males. My point is if white people LIKE THE ONE IN THIS VIDEO was as vigilant about watching other white people as they are people of color there wouldn't be so much white on white crime. In the words of T.D. Jakes "If you throw a rock into a pack of wild dogs, the one you hit will always holler. If you aren't guilty why scream?" Carry on.
you weren't even referring to the video, you said "molesting kids, running a meth lab, contributing to their community's opioid addiction or planning the next mass shooting" to which i commented about generalizations. then you switch to talking about white on white crime, then about wolfs that shouldn't holler if they aren't guilty. pick a topic and stick to it, its hard to talk when you throw 15 easily refuted comments out there. Until then, stop making generalizations with no proof, they don't help conversation
If I seen someone coming out of my neighbors house with luggage I would assume they were VISITING, not stealing...and I wouldn't expect them to wave at me I don't know them !!!
When I moved into my house I'm the only black person the white neighbors came over to my house and introduced themselves they didn't call the cops. People need to try that instead.
The neighbor should probably stay away from airports. LOTS of strange people with luggage there.
Zokizzy Foshizzy 🤣😂😂🤣
You sir or madam gave an iconic response!
Zokizzy Foshizzy
lol!🤣🤣
Omg lmaaaaaooooo
And I bet they are not waving at her
Why didn’t the cops believe they rented the house as an Airbnb if they had all the proof? So sad
The SGT obviously suffers from stupid af'itis and a touch of racism
Black duhhhhhhhh
A Virgo seeing your post reminds me of the episode of Fresh Prince where Will and Carlton get arrested because the white cops assumed they stole the car. Then Will tells it how it is “if you see a black guy driving anything better than a burnt out pinto, you better stop him because he stole it.” Most white people assume are all broke and can’t afford anything and if we have cash, we peddle in drugs. Smh these phone callers needs to be charged with falsifying a police report.
Because we're always guilty until proven innocent for being black
I didn't want to watch the whole thing again to verify it, but did the renters of the AirB&B have a contract? And did they show that, as well as ID, to the police? If so, that should hae ended the whole thing right then and there. Sounds like a clear case of racial profiling to me.
"Didn't look at me. Didn't wave at me." These are neither crimes nor emergencies.
@George L sounds about white
George L save that shit man ,
But when black peoples call the police for actual emergencies they hesitate. How ironic
They didnt accept the AirBnb app showing they had a reservation AT THAT HOUSE!! Wtf man!?!!
Key questions one would think the police would be well versed in deciphering.
yes burglars do use luggage but
Not to mention, they're carrying luggage.

Just because she knows the neighbor runs an Airbnb doesn't mean it can't be robbed. I don't understand your logic?
if this neighbor was so concerned she should have called the property owner to verify that these people were supposed to be at the property.

When is the last time you saw a group of thieves using luggage? I have heard of organized crime, but not that organized.

They probably turned it into an Airbnb to get away from the Karen and still make some money with their own property.

I like how the dispatch seemed confused about the call him self

Lock the caller up she should be arrested and charged. Then don't forget to terminate those officers immediately for not doing their jobs because it wasn't racially profiling these people. We can stop this when we get rid of the cops that keep doing it‼️
She accuses them of not being friendly or neighborly or not waving while she stood at her mailbox?!!

The lady who called should be charged with making a false police report
Do we know her name? I would like to check her social media as the attorney stated. I am so tired of being called Strange because I’m black. #Change

So none of the neighbors knew the lady was using her house as an airbnb?
If the one who called didn't, it was an honest mistake. If they did, they're frothing racists.
My thing is why do they need to know? None of their business. If they know I do that then that means they know I'm gone a lot and then they'll rob my ass. I don't need my neighbors knowing my business. That shit is weird
Some people are very private, still all the neighbour needed to do was call the house owner to confirm.
When the color of your skin is perceived as a weapon, you will always be considered dangerous.
FACTS
Teach yourself and others not to perceive peoples skin color as a weapon. It's not the color of one's skin and makes them Superior or inferior.
@@somewhatinformed1208 We shouldn't be tasked to teach people this. It's them with the problem not us. We shouldn't be targeted for something we had no choice in or control over such as skin color.
@@thejamericanexperience2757 just my perspective but if you go somewhere where there's no black people no one's talks about skin color. People are able to pass themselves off as nice clean people of the community and others try to do the opposite has nothing to do with skin color. Anybody you look up to and respect they could be put into homeless clothes and put on a corner and they would draw attention from a cop. it also stops a lot of people from getting good employment when they act like they're not part of society.
