We find out how Cassian ANDOR meets everyone's favorite ridiculously tall droid K2S0... But the 1st season?! 🤯 Each episode gets crazier than the last... The 2nd season is supposed to end right where Rogue One begins!
I'm 62 years old and a fan since 1977, and I never thought that a Disney production would save Star Wars. But fortunately this happened, and in Roque One the old spirit that had been so lost in all the last films was rediscovered. Clear structure and plot, somehow he/she didn't stay alive. Dead stays dead. No ridiculous longing look, longing kiss and vow of eternal love that had nothing to do with the film but with audience groups. No cinema for 3 year old's. All beloved characters are wiped out. This is war as it really happens and where there is no fraudulent happy ending. An absolutely successful film with excellent actors.
Totally agree. Same age as you. Same perspective. I saw Rogue One at the cinema 4 times when it came out, because it's so damn good. And my reactions were not very different to the reactions of Hannah, above: lots of watery-eyed moments. Vader's closing scene has to be one of the most bad-arse scenes in all movie history.
@@jacquelinewhite6556 That makes me happy, brother in spirit so to speak. I have to add that I am German and the final scene with Vader reminded me that I thought all that was missing was the invitation from the SS. This absolute will to kill and destroy other life is incomprehensible but well known to me from the history of my country . For such people there are no barriers, no morals, simply nothing to stop them.
Princess Leia absolutely did understand the blood that was spilt for those plans. The end of this movie is so emotional because yes, the loss of life to get those plans... so incredible. When my girls saw this in the theater, at 14 years of age (twins), they just could not grasp the concept of everyone dying. They were like, what's the point? They were so angry. Now at 21, they understand. I love this movie so much!!!!
I remember thinking the same thing at the beginning: the heroes would win and all live. Once people start dropping, it clicked that it was a suicide mission. I sobbed in that theater. It took a few years before I could watch it without getting chocked up about it. I believe there is a line in A New Hope that talks about the people who died to get the rebel force that information. This movie puts that sacrifice in context.
@@raybernal6829 No phillip below your message is on it. This was the lead up to EP4 not 6. The entire premise of Rogue One was based on one sentence in the opening crawl of EP4.
30:58 the Sith also use the Force. But the difference between the Jedi and the Sith is that the Jedi have the force as an ally that can sometimes assist them, whereas the Sith want to control the power of the force in order to follow their own desires. That’s the crux of the difference between Jedi and Sith.
Bodie came up with the call sign Rogue One on a whim, but after their sacrifice the Rebellion starts using "Rogue" in different squadrons to honor them.
There is a comic called "Vader Down" and Vader crashes on a planet and gets surrounded by a lot of Rebel troopers and tanks/guns and they call on him to surrender because he's surrounded. His reply? "I am only surrounded by *fear* and *dead men.* "
I cant wait to see Ash reaction to Vader's final scene upd guys you have no idea how much your reactions mean to me. All my life I've watched movies and TV shows alone. You both can brighten up even the worst of my days!!! These words are all I can give in gratitude (because Patreon is impossible to pay for in my country). I would call this movie flawless if it wasn't for that scene. But it's at the end of film so I kinda ignore it. Regardless, the movie is still a 9.5 out 10.
Now watch ANDOR - it's a prequel to Rogue One and stars Cassian Andor (the same guy who died for the cause in Rogue One and is his story about how he came to join the Rebellion).... it was created by the same team who did Rogue One and is arguable the best Start Wars TV show created to-date. You will love it... it makes Star Wars feel believable and have soul. (Obi-One, Acolyte feel like cheap kiddy movies which, to be fair, they were probably aiming at a younger more care free audience) - but ANDOR is Star Wars how you wish it would be, with characters and emotion and you feel invested.
When this movie came out in theaters, Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) had very recently passed away. The final scene was even more emotional seeing her at the very end. Not a dry eye in the theater at the first showing.
I had low and almost negative level expectations. Holy f**k what a trip. Yeah it's slow at first but idc, it paid off well and is a brilliant show compared to the other star wars shows that followed. Mature, fantastic acting that made my grown ass cry, great VFX, music that also made me cry, etc.
I was expecting nothing from that show and it just blew me away. Not just a great Star Wars show (best one imho), but an amazing drama that I would put up against some of the best. Incredible show.
Fun fact about the end Vader scene, the door wasn't jammed, Vader was holding it with his force powers. That's why there was all those creaking noises because the door was trying to automatically shut but couldn't.
16:55 I case you guys didn't get it, those two aliens are the ones from the first movie that started a fight with Luke in the cantina and one got his arm cut off by Obi-wan.
The thing with Saw is that he finally realized just how corrupted and evil he'd become, even though it was in the service of getting rid of the Empire. He had been excommunicated from the main branch of the Rebellion. Even Mon Mothma told him that he wasn't on the right side of things and he let his anger and thirst for revenge take over. And when you see him, there's little difference between him and people like General Grievous or... Darth Vader himself. So, Saw knew that his time was at an end. Seeing Jyn and remembering her father made him understand everything
This story takes place immediately before _Star Wars: A New Hope_ (1977), which was the first movie of the original trilogy. So technically, it's a prequel, but just barely.
18:01 The "Little Hobbit" is Weeteef Cyubee played by Warwick Davis the same who played the teddy bear like Ewok called Wicket who befriends Princess Leia in the 1983 movie Return of the Jedi when he was 11 years old, and 33 years before Rogue One.
Ash, out of all the reaction channels I’ve seen both you and Hannah are by far the most entertaining. I think as a team you two are really good at this. While I’m here I must say watching Hannah watch Human Centipede was something special. Also watching Hannah, excuse me, “Yoda” tell Chewy that the force was strong in him cracked me up wonderfully. Like I said Very Entertaining, i love the extra effort you put in to your videos with the cosplay stuff. I can’t wait for the next one from you two on both of your channels. These are the perfect accompaniment for later in the evening when I like to have a toke, make a late night snack and watch something like No-neck Hannah struggle through a movie as you laugh your a$$ off through it all. Very fun, thank you 😆🍉✊
My all time favorite Star Wars movie! I like the ones w/ Kai Lo aren’t, but I ADORE Rogue One!❤ I tear up every time I watch it and see the team get chipped away.
Ash you summed it up the best way possible "whoever worked on this movie should have their own trilogy". The person I would rely on is the writer for this movie and the director. Tony Gilroy wrote the script and he also directed another star war title called andor, i recommend you watch Andor, that show is fantastic. Tony Gilroy is the main man in my opinion to trust a star wars trilogy.
Funny thing is, storm troopers don't have bad aim. The only times we really see them really "missing" a lot is in episode 4, when they were deliberately letting the rebels escape the death star, and episode 5, on cloud city, when they are trying to lure Luke into a trap for Vader. Both times they were missing on purpose. Other times we see them actually shooting to kill, such as the opening on episode 4, or the battle of Hoth, they decimate the rebels. They are completely one-sided fights.
@@SyntheticCKleia literally says right after they escape the death star, that their escape was to easy, and Han says something like, nah don’t worry about it. Then Lo and behold, the empire actually planted a tracker on the falcon, leading them directly to the rebel base. Hmm, almost as if it was planned. If you wonder how good the stormtroopers actually are, watch the opening of a new hope. Breaching through a chokepoint held by at least 10-15 people zeroed in on the door, absolutely destroying them in seconds, with 2-3 casualties. Thats insane from a tactical perspective. Someone broke down their shot accuracy in that scene, and it came out at like 25-30 % of shots hitting their target. Thats a LOT, btw.
Thank you Ash for another youtube video, i know it took a long time to get this edited, appreciate all the work you do to make these reactions possible, looking forward to watching this reaction and many more in the future

Some Easter Eggs. The two aliens, balls on the chin and nose. They were both in the first film, A New Hope, where they accosted Luke Skywalker in the cantina. Some of the lead rebel pilots of Red and Gold Squadron were the same pilots who were killed in the attack in the Death Star trench in A New Hope, using unused footage from the first film, and the sacrifice of Rogue One mentioned in the opening prologue.

Ash and Hannah's hot takes have no equal. It's like watching a completely different movie with these two. 🤣
ANDOR season 1! The people that made this... Absolutely killed it with the prequel series! Season 2 comes out next year... We find out how Cassian ANDOR meets everyone's favorite ridiculously tall droid K2S0... But the 1st season?! 🤯 Each episode gets crazier than the last... The 2nd season is supposed to end right where Rogue One begins!
I wish for A Jin serieS also 😂 how she grow up
Andor is boring
Andor is the absolute best thing Star Wars has ever done. It transcends Star Wars. truly a phenomenal show.

Definitely recommend Andor
Totally agree. Same age as you. Same perspective. I saw Rogue One at the cinema 4 times when it came out, because it's so damn good. And my reactions were not very different to the reactions of Hannah, above: lots of watery-eyed moments.
Vader's closing scene has to be one of the most bad-arse scenes in all movie history.
Go for Andor.
Even if Star Wars franchise didn't exist, this is a truly excellent sci fi, war film
Omg... you two are so insanely invested, it's contagious and I'm here for it! Subbed! ❤
I love how passionate the both of you are when watching the movies. :)
i already know what scene that shirts comin off lol.
Vader's hallway scene?
Lol he pulled it up, not totally off, but I’ll give it to you.
Well, the scene is in the thumbnail

Yes, there is. I think it was the female general who talks about a "great number of ....... gave their lives etc"
That was in EP6 when Mon Mothma referred to "Many Bothans" sacrificed themselves to get the plans of the second Death Star 😕
The explanation for Rogue One is in the Opening Crawl
The only decent Disney Star Wars.
There is no light or dark, only the force

"I am only surrounded by *fear* and *dead men.* "
I cant wait to see Ash reaction to Vader's final scene
upd guys you have no idea how much your reactions mean to me. All my life I've watched movies and TV shows alone. I used to watch reactions, but when I found Ash's channel it was a whole other level. Now I don't miss a single video, including Hannah's channel. You both can brighten up even the worst of my days!!!
These words are all I can give in gratitude (because Patreon is impossible to pay for in my country). But just know that you bring joy and positivity not only to me, but I'm sure to many other people around the world
I would call this movie flawless if it wasn't for that scene.

Genuinely love this channel… please never stop
I was hoping for a Rogue One reaction for quite some time and the force finally answered my call 😆😅🤩🤩Worth the wait! 👏👏
When this movie came out in theaters, Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) had very recently passed away. The final scene was even more emotional seeing her at the very end. Not a dry eye in the theater at the first showing.
This came out Dec 16. Fisher died on December 27th. I didn't realize the 27th came before the 16th
Perhaps they watched it on the 28th. The movie stays in theaters longer than two weeks.

You guys have to watch the TV series "ANDOR" next. It's Casians' ORIGIN story. It's the best written and acted STAR WARS out there. 🤞🤞🤞✌️
Yup. Watched it numerous times and it's so damn good.
I can second that. Andor blew me away.

Personally think this is so much better than any of the last 3 trilogies w/ Rey and the end hallway scene w/ Vader seals the deal
Nice. I'm 53 and for most of my life, as with most of my generation, 'Empire' was always the greatest Star Wars movie possible... And then I saw this.
Same.
Fellow 53 year old here and agreed entirely. I had almost given up 'hope' that it was possible to recapture the quality of the original trilogy.
It's the best one for sure,
44:15 IM ONE WITH THE FORCE, THE FORCE IS WITH ME 😡….. SAY IT !!!! 🤬
This is actually my favorite movie from the entire series. This felt so grounded and powerful it really is a masterpiece.
16:55 I case you guys didn't get it, those two aliens are the ones from the first movie that started a fight with Luke in the cantina and one got his arm cut off by Obi-wan.
Ah yes, everybody's favorite classic robot... CP3FO.
I laughed more than I should have.
Tony Gilroy is a blessing in the Disney Era of Star Wars. The Empire has never been more vicious and cruel as depicted here and especially in Andor.
The both of you have great reactions! Love both of your channels!
You better watch "Andor" after this... the best Star Wars TV Show you'll ever be able to see.
This story takes place immediately before _Star Wars: A New Hope_ (1977), which was the first movie of the original trilogy. So technically, it's a prequel, but just barely.
I love when its clearly coincidence or Irony, or an Analogy, or a synonym and he says: "Symbolism" its like watching Persian Damon Waynes

This is the difference between reaction people. The ones with empathy feel what the characters feel.
People will spin anything. It's just a movie trope to avoid killing the main characters in the first 10 minutes of a movie.
@SyntheticCK it's not a spin. They literally spell it out in the movie
@@tarroes8797 Sure sure. And every other time it's just a coincidence. I guess the trash compactor missed on purpose too.
@@mattiasandersson8693 iirc, it was around 110 shots per kill. Compared to a US soldier where the average was around 200,000 rounds per kill.

I found that a bit silly in its small-world aspect, but whatever. It's fine.

Obi-Wan only disarmed him, 😂
I stand corrected. I assumed that 46 years ago.
