    you do not need to spend money on ebooks, everything you need to learn is right here and on the rest of Spruce and Linen"s youtube videos. I learned more from this one video than all the ebooks i have bought. Her instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Thank-you

    Thank you for being honest about still learning the knotting technique! So many creators feel like they need to know it all before teaching, and its so refreshing to learn from someone who is so open about always being a learner. I watched that knotting video yesterday and cant wait to incorporate that into my weaves!

I'm so sorry to see that you're a new widow and not liking it, especially at the crazy world we're going through. Jenell has lots of videos on here on her Weaving channel. I've been on here since February/March. Definitely got me through all lockdown situation that I've been in. I hope you enjoy your new Weaving hobby. That's all mine is sometimes good and sometimes a bit harder. These ones I just watch, knowing that I dont think I'm able to do them.

      Hi I hope you have fun weaving. There's lots of videos on here. Some easy ones going upto this one. Thus has lots of different techniques some been in other videos the knotting she hadn't shown before putting this video up. But there's a video showing the knotting. I'm sure you'll find something you like. Can always put your own ideas onto them. I've done a few of them but put my own take on them as I've been in lockdown since March so just been using what I had and what my DOH as been able to get me from our own b&m store. I live in a small town in England UK. Here all we had open up till 2weeks ago was just that one and supermarket. I've learned such a lot from here.
      Hope you have lots of fun. Happy weaning.
      Love from England UK xxx

    Yassss, I loved the knotting! I'm not usually a random person in art ( I love it, it just doesn't flow for me) but I had a lot of fun with the knots. I didnt order the fiber pack but I'm just using what I have to incorporate some of these techniques... with my new walnut tapestry needle 😍😍 Thank you so much for sharing all your techniques and for all the inspiration.

      Hi I hope you're having fun watching these videos. I've not ordered fibre packs either. But I have putting my own spin on the techniques using what I have too. I think being able to put your own take on them is just as much fun. I live in the UK have been in lockdown since March? I've learned so much from the videos and her blogs are a lot of fun too.
      Hope you can keep weaving. Much love from England UK xxx

      Hi Leslie, glad you're enjoying the videos! As mentioned in this one, I'm still kind of figuring out the whole knotting thing and will do a tutorial on it sometime soon. It's one of those very freeform stitches so I need to figure out more of a "method" before teaching it in detail.

    Beautiful work! Thank you for your videos! As a new weaver, I have a question, since you hung it on the wall, how you keep away the dust, or how you clean it? Love from Greece

    • @spruceandlinen
      @spruceandlinen  4 роки тому +3

      Honestly, I don't really clean them, haha. They would definitely be spot clean only, on the yarn areas (definitely not on roving) you could probably use a lint roller, and the fringe can always be re-steamed which would definitely clean it a bit too. Keeping them away from open windows and areas that tend to get dustier helps too.

      Spruce & Linen Oh yes, it’s stunning! I just created my first weaving and it turned out really nice! I’ve been dabbling in fiber arts for a little over 2 years now but am super-new to weaving (but already in love with it)! I started a channel of my own because I’m constantly having people ask me how-to questions and complimenting my work! It’s a bit of a process (only 1 video so far) but I’m really excited about it! I love what your doing with your channel and will definitely recommend your channel for weaving tips and inspo! Thanks love

    Hi I wanted to ask ,can the hangings be dry-cleaned without damaging them.I washed one and it kind of disappeared and shrunk .I have sold some and always think if someone asks how to clean it what would be the best way

    • @spruceandlinen
      @spruceandlinen  2 роки тому +1

      The answer is: it depends. Materials used definitely has to be considered, merino wool roving would not stand up to cleaning. I've been thinking about a cleaning video for a long time- so stay tuned.

    • @spruceandlinen
      @spruceandlinen  4 роки тому +1

      The soumak with the yarn? Just think of it this way, from left to right you're using your putting your left hand through the two sets of yarn and using your right hand to pass it under the warp strings and through to your left hand. From right to left, put your right hand through the two sets of yarn, and use your left hand to pass the end of your yarn under the warp strings and through to your right hand. I hope that helps! Written instructions for something like that can be a little confusing lol
