as a child I wanted to weave, wished for a loom, which I got for Christmas. But I had no wool. After many weeks, or months, I could "get" wool from somewhere. When I was looking for the loom in vain, I asked my mother where it was. I threw it away, you never used it. Now, decades later, I have bought my granddaughter a loom. I have a lot of leftover wool because I knit a lot. She has so much fun with the loom she uses when she is with me. So I watched UA-camflime to learn more about it and saw your movie. It's a godsend what you show, I know I'll weave, weave, weave with my granddaughter. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I'm so glad to hear weaving came back into your life, and I'm glad our videos have been helpful! 😊
I'm just getting started weaving and this was SO clear and helpful without a lot of extra chat, which I super appreciated. Thanks for using clear views with your camera!
omg you are such a great teacher!! I'm brand new to weaving and i really appreciate how you slow down at times so my brain can absorb what you just did. thank you!!
Thank you so much, that's very kind 😊 I'm glad this was clear for you!
I am so glad I found this channel, thank you very much for this precious information!
You're so welcome!
I have watched quite a few videos on you tube on how to weave and yours is by far the best. So thank you I understand how to do weave a lot better than I did before. 😊
You are a joy! Thank you so much for your easy to follow instructions for a very beginner. Thank you for the “no nonsense” instruction! Just love watching everyone of your videos❤
Thank you so much!
Love the puffy stitch using roving
Im from India, and began weaving since May, 2022. Ive been weaving stoles, trying out different techniques and experimenting with colours, mainly with cotton yarn.
Just started weaving wraps / shawls in wool.
To finish my work Ive been knotting the edges into fringes and also hem stitching them. But haven't been happy with the technique of hem stitching.
I just happened on this video and have found twining to be the firmest and best way to secure the edges of my woven pieces.
I do not know how to thank you for this knowledge you have imparted.
Thank u once again!
That's so great, I love twining for that reason! I'm so glad this was helpful 😊
This is the exact video reference I was looking for. I am a beginner and just wanted a quick refresh. Now I can't wait to try these knots out!❤
This is the most informative video I have found on this subject. I’m venturing into macraweaving to add interest to my macrame and this is so instructive. Thank you for your teaching!
Thank you so much, I’m glad this was helpful for you! 😊
I didn't care for the knotting stitch but I loved the look of using knotted thread/yarn. Thanks for all the stitches. I can't wait to use them when my travel loom finally arrives.
You are so welcome!
Thank you very much for this tutorial,I too was having a hard time doing the soumack with roving and I finally got it,thank you again Janelle! Blessings to you! 🤗
Glad this helped!! 😊
Such a helpful video. You’re so good at explaining things clearly. I’m sitting here itching to get weaving now!
Thank you so much! 😊
This is just SO useful. I was given a loom a while back, but hadn't actually realised there was more to it than just going back and forth, think I was too fixated on knitting! I've just ripped out my incredibly boring beginning weave and shall practise these stitches and have fun!
I can't wait to give this a try! I knit on a loom right now, but I wanted to try weaving on a loom too. Glad I found your channel!
Excellent tutorial. I now have some options for techniques that I already knew. I love that! And you explain and demo
so well. Thank you for your generosity in sharing this.❤
Thank you so much! And you're very welcome, I'm glad this was helpful for you 😊

All fabulous stitches to learn. Thank you. From perth in Western Australia.
Thanks for watching!
Wow! Love them all!❤
I love your tutorial, I am a beginner but very enthousiastic with the prospect of weaving.
I love the basic of course but amongst the others I loved the twining, soumac with yarn and knotting, I am still trying to figure out yarn thicknesses
Oh my stars!!! Thank you for such detailed and articulate instructions! I’m so glad I found your channel! I’m an elementary art teacher and I am going to introduce weaving in the next couple of weeks. I’m excited and nervous at the same time. Hopefully I can give instructions as eloquently as you do so that my kiddos will pick it up easily. We are starting with the simple cardboard looms. Though not as professional, it’s a little more cost effective and hopefully they will work just fine. BTW, I just bought a few things off of your website and I’m so bummed that all of the looms I’m interested in are sold out! Will you be restocking soon? You’re the best!
I’m so glad this video was so helpful for you! 😊 I’m hoping to restock most things on Saturday! We are just waiting on materials and supplies to arrive so we can make more 😊

I’m looking for a basic frame loom, which is what I *_think_* you’re using.
I subscribed (duh!), so I’ll look for a video for how to end these stitches; the roving, especially.
Thanks again!

I wish you had shown us how to turn around to add another row of twining…❤
Thank your so much friend r this amazing demonstration! You do not know anything about weaving, and this helped tremendously. Do you have a video to show ho this take this off the frame, how the put strings on the frame?
We do! Here's a video on how to warp the loom (and how I begin a woven wall hanging): ua-cam.com/video/4MV0RQEolB0/v-deo.html
Here's a video on how to take it off the loom: ua-cam.com/video/GN5jyY4CBBA/v-deo.html
And here's a video on how to put it on the dowel: ua-cam.com/video/MsVTvv6VQQc/v-deo.html
@@spruceandlinen I took an in person class which helped me get started and now I watch your videos to learn new stitches and for reminders how to do the ones I already learned. Thank you so much for amazing tutorials.
can u use crochet techniques in weaving
Would be helpful to show how to do multiple rows for each, how to go back the other way
Check out our Stitch Library playlist- we have other videos that include these stitches as well with more rows: ua-cam.com/play/PLu7qd2uichKKem86c53FVKnFGByNtP8uC.html&si=F7W81_ViNthIIQfA

Hi, where did you buy your Worden needles
These are our custom designed needles, you can get them here: spruceandlinen.com/collections/weaving-tools
جميل جدا"
Are there any strict differences between a "stich" and "knots"...in weaving?
I would say yes, not all weaving stitches are knots, so I only call it a knot if there is some sort of knot involved, such as rya knot.
From where can I get this frame???also tell how to add thread for base
You can our flat pack frame loom here: spruceandlinen.com/collections/weaving-tools/products/flat-pack-frame-loom
And you can learn how to warp a loom here: ua-cam.com/video/4MV0RQEolB0/v-deo.htmlsi=Ft1d_-F89c-XE-em
Do you ever use a heddle on your loom? (I'm a beginner)
I don't, I enjoy just using my tapestry needles 😊
👍👍🤗👏👏👏👏
You look like Ivanka Trump. Different hair color, but nevertheless.
