Nelson, you are a blessed man.
Another great recipe'Rosana you make your recipes look so easy to make and they are. Thank you 🌹🙏👍
I made these and they are SO good! Thank you for breaking everything down in such simple steps for us !!
Thanks for the recipe. It's fun watching you both.
Easy enough to give it a try. 😋
You two are so beautiful together. Your instruction is perfect; clear and easy to follow.
Thank you so much! We’re glad we can help!
You are my go to chef when it comes to Mexican cooking, there hasn't been a single recipe that I've followed that hasn't impressed this white boy's Mexican friends at a pitch in party
Thanks for sharing!!!! Love it 😊
Mmmmm! ❤
Every time I watch one of your videos, I'm always: 1.) very hungy, 2.) well informed, and 3) laughing so hard at Nelson's looks and comments! You two are so great and the food is absolutely fantastic. Thank you for all you do, and keep up the good work! ¡Salud!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoy our videos ☺️
Yummy, my favorite and corn tamales as well 😋
They look so delicious, i love tamales and one of my favorites, Thank you for the recipe.
My mom makes tamales for thanksgiving and it is always delicious. ❤️
Thanks for sharing. I love tamales because I have a Mexican friend who introduced me to all the delicious Mexican dishes! I will definitely cook this soon!
I made these this past weekend with a friend and they are delicious!
A couple tips:
1) Make the tamales as big as you can, before I realized this the first half of my dough made 25 when the whole recipe is supposed to make 33 or 34!
2) You can use a tortilla press to make pressing the masa easier during the filling stage, and finally
3) CHECK YOUR WATER LEVEL FREQUENTLY WHILE STEAMING! Unfortunately I burned the bottom of BOTH pots I tried (I can clean them thanks to Barkeeper's Friend which works well for stainless steel), but honestly set a recurring timer. Water can evaporate much quicker than we realize!
The masa is super yummy and I will be saving this recipe. I also can't believe this video only has 25k views! Thanks so much ~
P.S. Seriously, set a recurring timer to check water levels
How do you add more water lol
Yall are so cute together
🌸 Esto es realmente delicioso 🌸

My grandma moved to Mexico so it’s harder for me to learn how to cook Mexican food even though she tries to help via FaceTime so these videos are amazing🖤
Your comment inspires me! Happy I can help!

Because of you and your videos I am going to attempt to make Red Chili Pork tamales tomorrow for the first time ever! I may now need to add some of these to my list. In your recipe you mentioned Maseca instant corn masa and King Arthur instant corn masa. Which one did you use in your video? One or the other or both together? If I want to cook these ahead of time to freeze them , do I freeze them before I cook them or after I cook them? Do you suggest to de thaw on the counter or do you de thaw them in the refrigerator and for how long? If they are not done within a hour of cooking how many more minutes do you let them continue cooking? Sorry for so many questions but it is a lot of work and I want them to come out as beautiful as yours! 😁👍🏼 Thank you for sharing!! I can hardly wait to make them…💕
That is one perfect looking tamale 🫔
They sure are

I made these and they were delicious!!!! My husband who never eats tamales has been eating them.
Congratulations! I am so happy for you! The irresistible tamales ☺️
👍
I tried your recipe and it was awesome. I made a little less tamales and used the rest to make a filling of pineapple,, cream cheese desert., with a butter, brown sugar, cinnamon sauce.
Sounds great 😊
My grandma would make tamales de raja but she would also add potatoes in them, but they’re so freaking good
That does sound so good! I bet your grandma made great tamales ☺️
Definitely going to make them! One question? I also have a stove like yours and have a problem cooking them. It’s shuts off during the cooking and stops the water from boiling. What is your secret to cook them with in 1 hour?
This dude said, "When have I NOT been ready to taste?" LMAO!!!! I love it!!!! I bet they taste as delicious as they look!!! But that "Heat" on the scoville scale, has me worried!! lol
I'm making tamales with cheese and peppers!
Thank you…😇
You're welcome 😊
I love Poblano Peppers and tamales. I cannot find instructions for this recipe from Villa Cocina on the Internet to print. How can I get a copy? I like Rosanna's techniques for preparing and wrapping the Tamales so I really want her recipe. Thanks
Love your recipe! Thanks for not using pre-shredded cheese.
Glad you liked the result! ☺️ tamales are awesome!
Rosanna, Great video! Hey, Do these freeze well? I have a small family and would like to save the leftovers.
Not sure if you ever found put, we freeze tamales all the time.
Dear Villa Cocina - did you use all the 4 1/2 cups of broth for the 5 cups of masa? Please confirm and I thank you so much I want to make this recipe 🙏❤️👍
What’s the ratio if I use lard and vegetable shortening?
Hola you are such a cute couple looks delicious 🤤
Barbara
Thanks Barbara
Those tamales look dee-lish-us, Rossana!! Just in case there are leftovers, can you safely freeze them? 😀✌🏻👍🏻🫔🫔🫔👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻☘️🍀
Yes you can freeze them 😎
@@VillaCocina Thanks, Rossana! Just asking for a friend...there wouldn't be any leftovers at my house. 😀
that's a paradox, a mi Yessica
Wait! How do you keep the other 28 tamales you made??? We are only 2 here at home so do we make half a batch, eat 6 and freeze the remainder? How long will they store in the refrigerator? Thanks, love your videos.
You could freeze some. They hold well.
If I have lard, how nuch should I use for tanales I was rhinking to make half of this recipe
Hey can you make them in an Air Fryer please?? 💕💕😎🔥👍🏻
Love your videos I have a question what brand is the flour please
You can check the description area for the link but its masa harina from king Arthur.
We use Serrano peppers to make Indian food every day at home. They're the best amount of heat.
One day I will attempt to make tamales ……one day
Let us know if you do ☺️
Can you steam the tamales in an instapot?
❤🎉Ty
Can you cook a variety of tamales at the same time?
Does the Oaxaca cheese turn yellow after cooking? I bought the strip Oaxaca cheese; it turned yellow after cooking. So, does it make a difference in the cheese type?
Hi Linda, can the masa be spread using a spoon or spatula thanks.
You could, as long as it gets spread out evenly. 🙂 hope this helps.
@@VillaCocina Thank you Villa Cocina can you also let me know where to print your recipes from I can't find a printing link
🌬📢 H🤔w do I substitute the lard?
You will find out in this recipe. I made the dough with oil only.
Can you add potatoe to this exact kind?
😇😇😇😜😜😜
Every time I do a grocery order, I get 12 poblanos... I roast and peel and freeze in quantities of 3-6... I always have them on hand when I want to make something...
Can I make the masa with vegetable broth instead of chicken to make this vegetarian friendly?
Hi there! You sure can.
I have never eaten poblano pepper s are they hot y spicy?
They can vary in heat but are typically mild.
How much cheese
What kind of cheese do you use?
Hi there! I’m using Oaxaca cheese for this recipe.
I had lunch with a friend who ordered a dish with jalapeño slices. She had one slice and turned beet red half way down her arms. It was the hottest jalapeño in the world!! She avoided the rest of them. Peppers do indeed vary in hotness!
Yes, they can definitely vary!
how many tamales should i make for two people to eat within maybe a few days? I want to make them for my boyfriend for Día de la Candelaria but Im also white and don't know how to make tamales lol
No Manteca?
No manteca for this one. I’ve made previous tamales with Manteca. Feel free to check them out.
I made this Chili's with cheese and my cheese turned yellow is did I leave the cheese in cooking too long
About how many tamales does this make? 10 cups of masa seems to be much more than your other tamale recipes? This about 3 dozen or so?
33-35 tamales
I will update u on Saturday. I wanna surprise my fiance, goodluck to me
60mins is an hour
lard
Feel free to use some, If you like.
