I was faced with the option to choose from Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 165 both of which were at the same price, and I'm glad I chose the Forerunner 255. It has dual-band GPS, longer battery life, supports more sports mode and triathlon, whereas the 165 only have single-band GPS and no triathlon mode. Sure the 165 it has a pretty Amoled screen, but that is also why the battery life is less than a 255. I agree with you, the Forerunner 255 series are still worth it in 2024 and beyond. Great video btw!
Great review ! I just bought the Fenix 7s and this looks like a lighter, cheaper alternative (Fenix 7s is really nice though, I much prefer it to the Venu watches I've tried).
Thank you! And appreciate you sharing, the Forerunner is a great more affordable alternative to the Fenix, if you dont need the extra Genix features like built in maps, golf courses ski maps, or the increased water resistance etc. The 2 watches share many similarities like suggested workouts, VO2 max, HRV status, sleep tracking always on display & and more.
This is the video i was looking for, thanks for the review. I only have one question, did garmin really added training readiness to the 255? because i couldnt find any official information about it and this is really the only function that i would miss if i buy this watch
The one negative side of no touchscreen is the buttons will eventually will have wear & tear because you will always use the buttons.. My forerunner 165 music is the best bang for buck in my opinion because it has touchscreen & 5 buttons also has offline music player.. Also the touchscreen have off option so that when you do swimming & sleeping the touchscreen can be turned off automatically & turn on automatically if you are not in the swimming & sleeping mode..
Oh thats interesting, I haven't experienced that myself with any of my button operated smartwatches for ex. I have a button operated Garmin watch since 2019 that still works great today in 2024 no button issues after years of use. I think most people would upgrade thier watch before it could even get to that point.. And the Forerunner 165 is made with cheaper materials, less sensors and less features than the Forerunner 255S, this does reduce the price a lot comparatively but the FR 165 does not come with music storage you can get music abilities if you pay more for the FR 165 Music version. And the FR 255S here has that same option to pay more for a FR 255S Music version but, that's not the version I have here. However, if someone wants a larger touch screen and button operation watch, with an Amoled display for a lower price, while still having good tracking, and is happy with its features and sensors the Forerunner 165/165 Music is a good option for sure.
Between this one and the fénix 6s, which one would you choose? Also is the gps on the fénix 6 still good? I had a vivo active 3 and it was not the best one.
Hello, i would choose the Fenix 6S myself,I do prefer the design, and it has built-in maps, and better watch face options, which is a plus for me. And I've had no issues with the GPS myself.
@@hrishikeshparmar that would depend on where you live but I'd say as long as you can pick it up on sale lower than the original regular price is a good price to look for.
Thanks for watching! SUBSCRIBE 💜. And as always comment below if you have any questions/comments I love hearing from you guys :)
I love that you still do reviews/updates on the older watches as well 😃

I've also had mine for two years and it still works great. Mine has a small scratch, but I don't use a screen protector.
Thata great, and thanks for sharing!😊

sadly, no
Hi, there is no training readiness in this watch. There is only training status.

for sure it's worth in 2024 - only difference between it and 265 is display and I prefer display of 255
@@jakejoyride price is also a difference, and thanks for sharing!
