    Close the gate to that pen will at least deter the hogs. They may come in, leave early and the corn will still be there for the deer to come back.

    I hunt in Texas as well and was wondering why do you have your hog panels open? Hogs come out when i hunt but the deer stay inside the hog panels and never run off and pigs dont stay long cause the feeder doesn't toss outside the panels. Just curious , great video and hunt.

    Maybe LFG will respond, but if not. Does anyone know what binoculars he’s using?
    Either way LFG, you should invest in a .17hmr if you don’t have one. Would be great for your daughter to use with NO recoil. AND if you put the bullet in the ear hole inside of 100yards. Every pig it touches will die.

    That buck is 4 at the most. Give him a couple more years and he'll be a giant. Y'all need to redo your feeder pens so the hogs don't have free access to all the corn. That is the biggest thing you can do to reduce the number of hogs on your lease.

    This is where hunters lose me. Is it really consdiered hunting if you bait and habituate the deer to come eat food you leave out for them to eat? Is this no different than setting up a fish feeder on a body of water you frequent in hopes of drawing fish to a specific spot? I'm asking because I don't hunt but I do fish a whole lot and I just don't find it sporting if you purposefully feed an animal with the sole purpose of stupifying it so you can shoot it at your leisure.

    • @FourDRanch
      @FourDRanch 3 роки тому

      It's because that's the way we deer hunt in Texas.

    • @TheCupitorVeritatis
      @TheCupitorVeritatis 3 роки тому

      @@FourDRanch but is that really hunting or is that just shooting at stuff you've manipulated in your favor?

    • @Firemandan11
      @Firemandan11 3 роки тому

      It really isn’t that easy. Yes the feeders do make it easier but the deer are pretty smart. They know when things are different….. different sounds, different smells. The other thing a feeder does is make hunting a whole lot safer, you always know where you are shooting, what’s behind the animal you are shooting at and you know if there is anyone else in that area. When hunting public land you are not aloud to bait in my state so you really have to pay attention to everything around you,I have had folks wander right into my hunting area and never know I am even there.

    • @TheCupitorVeritatis
      @TheCupitorVeritatis 3 роки тому

      @@Firemandan11 I guess for me it just doesnt seem very sporting is all. I can see what you're talking about but to me I'll always wonder why some in the sport will stalk or even wait all day in high value areas to fill their tags versus people who manipulate the deers' behavior all year just to get them used to an area. It is just my opinion and I guess I care more about someone using/consuming what they harvest but I just don't like how it seems unsporting.
