Was at this match.. Great atmosphere., aussie. Different league. Thou...
I was there too..men against boys..the gulf between the sides was frightening
A lesson on how to play six-tackle rugby. Australia adapted to this rule change much quicker than GB. David Ward opting to run the ball himself towards four defenders on the last tackle then being caught in possession! Imagine how a coach would react to that now!
32500 here for this match - i queued for over an hour outside to get one of the last tickets and watched it from the back of the stand opposite the cameras, so many in you couldn't see the whole game. Hull FC v Hull KR matches at this ground pulled up to 25000, but Hull City at the time got 3 to 4 thousand for most games.
That’s a pretty solid Kangaroos team. Silky Steve Rogers, what a player. Brett Kenny putting King Wally on the bench. Les Boyd for a bit of intimidation. Price and Pearce for workload...and then of course Big Mal Meninga in the first of his record setting 4 Kangaroo tours.
Wally wasn't even the Kangaroos reserve back in this game. The Aussie bench was Steve Ella and John Muggleton. Both were replaced by Lewis and Ray Brown for the 2nd and 3rd tests.
Grothe and Boustead on the Wings!
Lewis should never have played for Australia when Bert was fit tbh
Did we run out of film?????
Great Britain putting up a special olympics team.
People to this day still don't know the difference between Great Britain and England......
This is England playing as GB.
@@colinoverton790 no, it's Great Britain, just happen to be English players.
There are things that I remember that stick and one of the main ones was Rex the man.
Highlight of the game is 51:43 to 52:03 gripping stuff!
thanx man!
Different class.
Ref .. to the Poms , you got flogged but I couldn’t do any more to help you.
One of the stands was being built
not true they were building a supermarket, the stadium now no longer exists
Boothferry Park luv it
Des is the best the poms have, by a mile.
When France were a powerhouse too... those were the days.
Back when rugby was rugby
Offside penalty after only one tackle of the game, give it a rest ref! 😂✌️
How shit was Fairbairn ? All he had to offer was cheap, late shots.
These days, Fairbairn would have been sent off, and deservedly so, for any of four or five shocking challenges.
When England stopped playing like grubs they actually had a chance... pity it was only for 5 minutes lmfao
Great Britain, not England
Gosh GB were pathetically terrible in this game. No desire to run or play the game, as shown by the fact they didn’t score a try in this game🤦🏽♂️
would you wanna run at Les Boyd? ha
Great Britain grubs
does this goon not know the difference between great britain and england? of course he dont, he's an ozzie.
Does not this goon know the difference between ozzie and Aussie ?.... You utter fool.
