I was sitting on the wall behind the Sharp audio hoarding and it was my first rugby league game. I loved it. Strength and fitness was evident from the Aussies. We were very much part time and it showed. Would’ve liked to have seen Woodsy start and more support play. Outstanding performance by Australia , got me hooked on RL👍

Crazy how many club captains , future comp winners and coach's are in the Australian side.
Some of the English are moving backwards at the line.
This era will be long remembered for it's tenacity, it's grit and it's parochialism from crowd and commentary alike. 😅
24:30 - Steve Rogers was clearly onside!
Agree
Keith mumby saved 3 tries with tackles in this 2nd test ..then was dropped for George Fairbairn
Crazy decision. Never rated Fairbain. A dirty player long past his best by 1982.
Mumby had a great game but his face didn’t fit with the English management
Great point, he was my player of the game for GB
A shame the rest of the team didnt play to the standards of Keith Mumby
Mumby was dropped for George fairbairn for the 3rd test...bizarre decision
Pom commentator keeps calling Aussie fullback Greg Brentnall " Gary ? Was making this error for successive tests.
Last comment every match by English coach to his side as they leave the dressing sheds, :"Just remember lads, they can't run without heads".
Well said, typical grubby poms
Yes, it’s such a waste of energy and yardage lost on penalties.
Could say the same about some of the Aussie players of the time.. Les Boyd was known for his cheap shots and illegal hits, among others.
English commentator sounds like he is going to cry 😢
