  • In this video I demonstrate how you can find New reefs/spots offshore using your electronics. This is a hack that I utilize every time I'm offshore and it has helped me find dozen's of spots loaded with BIG Fish! As you will see, I happen to run over and mark a few new spots this day which held some Giant Red Snapper. I even drop a camera down to see what kind of structure we're finding.!

    I love my B175, all my best spots are ones that I found myself. I did exactly what you did, I ran over spots that I knew were already there to see what they looked like. I actually zoom in even further, I only watch the bottom 10-15 feet.

    Captain Collier
    1 question
    I have the identical electronic set up but when I travel that fast I get insane noise. Any idea how I can get the clear image that you get.

    • @CaptCollier
      @CaptCollier  2 місяці тому

      Could be a couple different things. I would play with your gain first. While your on plane, try and lower your gain until the “noise” is minimal to where you can read bottom. Also, you may be going to fast, most transom mount transducers only real well up to about 25-30mph. If you are still not able to read bottom while running I would check to see if it’s mounted correctly. You may be getting air bubbles messing you up if it’s mounted to low or too high

    • @MrCliftonLaird
      @MrCliftonLaird Місяць тому

    @flawdacountryboy 2 місяці тому

    Do you do a similar thing to find natural bottom? I feel it would be a little different since some natural bottoms like the Swiss cheese bottom don’t create very noticeable readings

    • @CaptCollier
      @CaptCollier  2 місяці тому +1

      I don’t personally, I use the CMOR map chip for fishing our natural bottom areas, but I’m sure you could find some if you have a good transducer and cruise at a low speed.
