Thank you for this. Used to hear this stuff all the time around the house. My grandmother was the horticulturist for Webb Nursery in Davie during the 70s & early 80s.
Richard, I enjoyed your walk around your neighborhood. It is pretty and quiet. You should definitely walk more often there and take us along with you. Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoy doing these walks/talks...especially on trash day LOL. Thanks for watching and commenting. Coming up Bismarkia and Christmas palms. Stay tuned.
I am terrible at grafting. I could never get the technique down. But I have never had problems with air layering. I can probably air layer a 4x4 fence post and something will grow, but I always fail at grafting.
@Richard Sites ok but from what I've seen the grafted tree generally is the stronger its tap root it anchors stronger in the ground & can extract water nutrients etc way better than the fibrous roots of an airlayered tree.
I have a big garden of citrus fruit, can i air lyring it to increase my garden. My friend told me that air lyring of oranges is not good bcz he give very little fruit. Please help me bcz i ganna do it for 5000 plants
I don't believe air layering would reduce the amount of fruit. But you might want to check with an agricultural extension service rather than just me. Good luck.

Thanks for sharing. Not many people have your experience.
Great information from an experienced grower. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Wonderful thanks!
Was I clear enough??
Nice vid so with your experience which methos produces a stronger tree?
Two different things, one adds to the tree, the other removes from the tree.

Hi Richard, can I take air layers off branches from a plant that is grafted?
Yes, the two have nothing to do with each other. Thanks for watching and commenting.
