Tampons & pads. It is cotton shortage because there is no fertilizer. Farmers in Texas are letting there cotton go to seed because it is too expensive to water & fertilize.

Baking soda is great on cat litters too. Mix 1 cup to a litter (a bit more, depending of the size) and will help with the smell and keep more dry too

Getting one can of each kind of chili is a good idea because that’s how I found out my husband does not like certain brands! That way I only ended up getting extra cans of the ones we like!

Peanut butter and honey we had growing up, I gave it it my children and now grandchildren. I do wish Sam’s club would come to Australia like Costco did. Sam’s club looks awesome as an Aussie watching on. I have been recently diagnosed as diabetic and recently researched about basmati rice. So thank you Kimmy for recognising those with insulin issues. Wonderful upload I enjoy watching the difference in prices between our countries. We are experiencing a lot of food shortages currently. Crazy vegetable prices so pleased I have a vegetable garden that is producing enough for what we need.

Yes! Make sure that you have plenty of water! Electrolyte beverages are good to keep on hand, too, if you do a lot of outdoor work in the heat. The hot weather isn't going away, so take care! The Tostitos cheese dip is good to have around to use in cooking. I have used it in my Chicken Spaghetti as well as Broccoli Cheese Soup instead of Velveeta... gives it an extra layer of flavor and saves me from using up my Rotel. I recently bought a small charcoal grill, so I have been stocking up on charcoal. I wish I had the space to store more. On my next trip to Sam's (this week, hopefully) I will look for those GAP pants. They look comfortable.

Grilled spam is really good. Its only meat, water and spices, no artificial anything. We use the milk jug water bottles, never had one leak ever. As long as they are not stored directly on cement, your good to go. We do change out the water every 2 years in our gallon containers. Did not know that about Basmati rice, thank you.

Snack size ziplock or reusable bags are fantastic for portions. Also, you can store excess portions in the freezer to extend the life of them. Just throwing it out there.

You may already know this. But I have learned that spraying my fruits (blueberries, strawberries, grapes, etc. pretty much any fruit that you eat outer the skin) with equal parts of vinegar & water and letting them sit for 10-12 minutes, rinsing them really well, laying them on paper towels to air dry completely then put them back in their original washed and dried containers they last for at least 2 weeks longer than normal. Also, I purchased 2 different sizes of the deck boxes 2 years ago & I absolutely LOVE them. Caught them on sale, but seeing how well they have held up with our very hot long summers here in Bama, I would’ve paid full price for them. They are a definite must have if you have a pool, great storage for pool toys, chair cushions, and lots of extras. We use the bigger box to store our foldable patio chairs for winter.

I recently switched to reusable pads and oh boy am I glad I did if this occurs in the UK! I've always been a pad person but I struggle with the whole 'get dry before the bathroom resembles a murder scene' thing (I'm autistic and I struggle enough with showering from a sensory perspective without adding aunt flow into the mix) so I've always bought really cheap tampons and worn one whilst showering until I'm ready to put my underwear on, but that's not exactly economical to wear a tampon for 30 minutes and then throw it out; then I found a Swedish company called "Imse and Vimse" who make reusable nursing pads, period pads, reusable baby wipes, 'wet bags', cotton handkerchiefs, panty liners, period underwear, something called 'inter-labial' pads that I think are meant to help with discharge and 'gushes', reusable cotton rounds, 'liners' for reusable diapers/ nappies (I don't have kids but my understanding they're meant to be for catching 💩) and REUSABLE TAMPONS. You literally roll them up, insert them and when they're soiled wash them without fabric softener so they're perfect for what I need a tampon to do and come in several pretty designs and in 'mini', 'regular' and 'super' absorbencies like disposable ones. Being reusable, they don't have applicators which doesn't bother me, but by my understanding most US tampons have applicators so it might be a bit of a learning curve for some, but once you get the hang of it you have tampons for life. They obviously might be a bit tricky in a water shortage but otherwise you're set for however long they take to be totally unusable (probably 10 years or more) and work out way cheaper overall, and if there is a shortage you won't have to pay whatever absurd prices retailers will inflate the price of tampons and other period products to.
Ever tried 'Soda Bread'? It's an Irish 'quick bread' that uses baking soda as opposed to yeast as a rising agent. I live in Northern Ireland which is 'officially' part of the UK but shares a land mass with Ireland so we get most of the Irish foods and therefore can get 'soda bread flour' in our supermarkets, but you can make your own by adding a teaspoon of baking soda and a teaspoon of baking powder to every 100g of all purpose flour. If you use whole-wheat flour you can make 'wheaten' bread; which is a sweeter whole-wheat version of soda bread or you can add dried and candied fruit into it to create 'fruit soda' or 'barnbraic' (pronounced 'barn- brack') Barnbraic is traditionally round whilst fruit soda isn't but it's basically the same thing sand it tastes amazing as a breakfast bread with butter, jam/ jelly or nutella on it, as does wheaten. 'Soda' bread doesn't last as long fresh as standard bread but freezes amazingly so it would be a good recipe to have in a food storage arsenal for if you run out of yeast or there's a shortage, and its a good bread for serving with soups and stews since it's not traditionally made in a loaf shape. You could make it like a sandwich loaf but I've never seen anyone actually do that.
Might I suggest a recipe that can be made meat free to try out? I live in Belfast not far from the old 'Harland and Wolff' shipyard (which built the Titanic) and in the 1920's and 1930's some of the 'fish and chip' shops (or as we call them, 'chippy's') came up with a cheap, hot and filling way to feed the shipyard workers. They combined sausage meat with mashed potato and herbs and spices, shaped it into a patty, dipped them in batter and fried them to create ' Belfast pasties' (pronounced 'past-ees') served them with chips (what the US calls 'fries'), which we call a 'pastie supper' (in Northern Irish slang, a 'supper' is something served with chips, such as fish and chips being called a 'fish supper') or in a particularly large bread roll which was created by some local bakeries specifically to house these pasties which later got the name 'Belfast Bap' ('Bap' being the name in our part of the world for a bread roll) A good one is the size of a 'quarter pounder'. They're a staple in Northern Irish Chippys and many make them without the sausage meat as well so they'd work well as a 'meat free' meal option served like a burger or with fries.

Thank you for sharing this information. I found it very interesting. Thankfully I have been in menopause for awhile so I don't have the issue of dealing with period product shortages. But I do like to use a panty liner so some of those reusable products may just be what I need!

The Members Mark toilet paper is WAY more expensive than the POM. You get 45 rolls of POM toilet paper (435 sheets) in a case for $25 and the Members Mark is $21.78 for 235 sheets! The POM rolls are almost DOUBLE the MM and is just as good! Save yourself tons of money by purchasing the POM instead!

Hi - 2 vegetable recipes for you. INSTANT POT VEGGIES - Cut up whatever vegetables you want or need to use up (heartier stuff - potatoes, brocolli, carrots, onions). Add 1 cup water - cook 4 minutes. Season how you want or turn into soup with more water and bouillion. My favorite is add a can of tomato soup, coconut milk and curry powder or your favorite curry sauce. STOVETOP COLESLAW STIR FRY - Saute vegetables you like (try cooking baked potatoes in microwave for 6 minutes while sauteeing then chop up). Add potatoes into fry pan a few min before sauteed veggies done. Add coleslaw mix (no dressing) into pan and let wilt. Season however you want - yoshida always works well.

Yes, I have read and heard to expect a shortage of tampons and pads due to shortage of materials used to make/package them. I'm way past needing them, but every couple of months, when I see a sale, I buy some to donate. The only brand I could find (and not on sale) this weekend was Tampax Sport. There were several brands of pads, but they, like everything else, have gone up in price.

Happy Father's day Derek! Happy Sunday Kimmy! Thank you for this video. Great as always. I wanted to share some tips on storage.
First on baking soda I'm not an avid baker but I do use a cup or more in my laundry which is often. I bought the huge Utz cheesballs and reused the large tub as my storage on the BS and keep it on top of my dryer. I have a 1 cup measuring cup inside it. I have my vinegar next to it as well.
2nd I use an empty PineSol bottle with flip open lid as a 2nd bottle with vinegar and added essential oil to add as my softener in wash.
3rd I store my beans and rice in a new, never reused, 30 pound rolling pet food storage container for easy moving.
I clean all containers out with hot water, Dawn, and rinse with vinegar before adding food.
Just wanted to give you and others these tid bits.
    Blessings from Texas 💐 🙏 ✨️

Love watching your shopping trips! I'm in California so my prices are always higher, but its interesting to compare. Also - just a note about the canned chicken - I bought s 6 pack a couple weeks ago, the 12.5 oz can.... and it seemed like a good price when I compared it fresh/frozen chicken ... BUT - each can only has FIVE ounces of chicken - the rest is water... i think it great for food storage, but not for everyday use!

I've started reducing meat in foods. I use to use 2lb beef in homemade lasagna. Now I use 1.25 ish to 1.5. I make a hamburger steak out of the left overs and food save and freeze. Eventually I end up with a meal for 4. We eat 1 thigh, not 2, etc. It helps.

Looking forward to your price book to track my shopping, a must need here, I use a notebook now. Love eating pistachios and have not seen the individual package yet at our Sam"s Club but when I do, I will be getting some. Yes I heard on TV news that a shortest on Tampon was coming or is here now so went out to buy some for my adult daughter and DIL, but call to see which ones they used first. What a mess we are in, and glad I have been watching you and have learned to build a long term pantry. I just shutter to think where my household would be now if I have not started a long term pantry from watching you. So a big THANK YOU. Had no idea about the water so from now on I will buy the water that way. Which last week we were with out water for 3 day from something happening at the water facility and getting approved from the health dept to start using it again. You’re going to love Graceland! We just got back from our summer vacation to Memphis and Nashville and Graceland was on the last of places to visit. We spent a good 3 hrs there and we’re not huge Elvis fans… so plan on spending a LONG time there looking at all the exhibits, totally worth the price!

Tip: sour cream & onion seasoning. (buy 2, since the 1st won't last long) is great anything done in an air fryer.

They've been a little weird with sales lately, or I just noticed since I havent been paying that close attention until recently. They will have a flyer that they mail out that will be good for about a month, then they will switch to online only deals for about a month, then it seems like there will be a week or two of nothing great(by nothing great I mean on cheap things, i dont buy the big ticket things) and then the cycle starts over. We are right now, in the week or two of nothing great. I expect an ad in another week or two to start for 4of july holiday.

You are doing a lot of things I already do like with having an extra pack of tp on hand. I LOVE peanut butter powder because I add it to my homemade hot chocolate. It tastes nowhere near as good without it!

Love comparing, I’m from Sydney Australia and our lettuce, regular iceberg lettuce is currently $10.99, yes you have read correctly ELEVEN dollars each, it’s so bad that some fast food restaurants eg: Oporto and KFC have started putting a lettuce/cabbage mixture on their burgers.

Yes well when most of your supply is wiped out by weather, price will go up. That price isn't due to inflation but rather flooding.

I bought the yeast from Sam's and it is so much better than the yeast I've gotten from the grocery...used it last week for pizza and I swear it was the best I've made in awhile.

It was good to see you Kimmy! The otter pops were on sale for 7.88 not too long ago. Still waiting for the next sale, I wonder if it starts after the online one ends on the 4th. We've only tried MM rice, but maybe we'll try another next time. I need to start using Costco's quinoa with ground beef to stretch it out.

Kimmy, do your research on Memphis before you go. It is a really cool city but pretty crime ridden. Graceland is in a bad part of town. I live in north Mississippi and have lived in memphis too. Good southern people and good food. Be smart and have a good time.
