Very cool guitar! I love Di Giorgio guitars, they're of superb quality. In fact, I have a 1979 Di Giorgio Santana C1! But I know very little about it since someone gifted it to me. Can you also make a video on the Santana c1?
    Cheers!

@@NeilTaMusic No. But I found Di Giorgio No. 18 for sale. It is In very bad condition. I'm still wondering if my luthier can repair the guitar or if the condition is so bad and we can't bring the life back?
The price is also very low - about 98 Euro.
That's why I wanted to see and hear the real sound of the model. Next Monday I'll go to the seller's place to test the guitar.
I live in Europe. It is very rare opportunity to find Di Giorgio guitars for sale here.
      Greetings!
      Wish me 🤞 luck :)

@@ViktoriaAndreeva beware of the dead tone. Old guitar which have been exposed to bad weather condition suffer from “dead” (muted) tone as the wood is deteriorated. You can tell by listening the the trebles strings. If the wood is too aged there’s nothing anyone can do it make it young again. Maybe bring along a guitar to compare to sounds. Also Di Giorgio guitars are very different sounding compared to the Japanese or the Spanish made guitars. It may. It suit your style of music. What type of music do you intend to play on it?

@@NeilTaMusic I'm a classical guitar teacher. I work in a music school and teach children aged 6-16 years old.
I prefer baroque music, I like all the classical music. Sometimes jazz, rock. I love to play Love of My Life by Queen.

H Neil, I will be in Brazil and would like to buy a DiGiorgio or Gianini guitar, is there any model or year of thesee brand that you could recommend me to buy? preferably made with solid wood top. I've known that DiGiorgio and Gianini new guitars are no longer made in Brazil and the quality now can't be compared with before. Thank you!

Which one would you recommend: Yamaha c40 or Di Giorgio n 18?

    • @NeilTaMusic
      @NeilTaMusic  2 роки тому +1

Definitely Di Giorgio no.18 for its vintage value. The Di Giorgio being vintage will go up in price every year. While you will have to wait another 50 for the C40 to do the same.
This does not mean the No.18 is a better guitar, it depends on the condition.

Thanks Pauli for the comment. I think you are correct. All the Di Giorgio guitars I have are just so beautiful and unique. Even the lower models sound great. The Di Giorgio and the Giannini both have a distinctive sound compared with the Japanese and Spanish guitars. What are the most popular guitar brands in your country?

The guitars from Brazil all have the most Beautiful Brazilian Rosewood the world has ever seen, because the best Trees for guitars are inside of Brazil. The Brazilian guitars are known for Exotic woods. DiGiorgio guitars and Giannini guitars both men from Italy, processed the World's most beautiful looking guitars. My only Damn complaint is neither made Flamenco guitars. Bossa Nova Sound dominated Brazilian guitars which in turn helped Spain take the World's guitars number one spot, Since Spain dominated both in Classical and Flamenco Sound. Big mistake that there were no Flamenco guitars made in Brazil. The Bossa Nova Sound ruined Brazil's image for guitars Sales because Bossa Nova was short lived, Although the older Brazilian Made guitars were by far, the best made guitars in the World. But Spain's Flamenco sound, destroyed Brazil's Bossa Nova sound. It was a Stinking Shame that No Flamenco guitars were made in Brazil. Flamenco Music is live and Well, where as the Bossa Nova sound is dead and gone.

Wow John, thanks for sharing your wisdom. As you said most things in life are dominated by trends and supply and demand just like in fashion. The most beautiful guitars I’ve ever had were Brazilian. Unfortunately I’ve sold most of my Brazilian collection. I’ll make videos for whatever I have left soon. Thanks again for your input. My viewers will appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

Não acho que a bossa nova está morta e desaparecendo, do contrário: está mais viva do que nunca, sou músico brasileiro e posso dizer isso.
