terrific series.. our best friends had 280se's as kids here in Australia.. spent years in them driving huge distances from melbourne to the farm.. wonderful place to be. thanks for bringing up lovely memories 🙂👍
Love your classic documentaries. Since watching I have bought a 1990 Citi Sport 1800 and a 280s. they were both cars I always loved and your documentaries sold them to me.
@@GalimotoMedia I saw a nice green one on Gumtree in Constantia for R 85000, I am in Swakopmund at the moment, I look at a car first and test drive it before I buy it
First-class objective 2023 look at the car, you are correct in stating that classic cars have to be driven in a different manner and respect their limitations but enjoy.
As a devoted owner of a pristine and much loved 1979 280SE W116 I enjoyed your videos and am eagerly awaiting the promised final instalment dealing with owner experiences etc. I keep checking back to see if you've uploaded the final instalment. Please don't forget!
Hi Ryan, thank you for your kind comment. We haven't forgotten and shall not use Covid as an excuse... it's just been a bit hectic here. Happily, we shot some footage for Part 4 yesterday and are filming again this afternoon! Hopefully the last installment will be live by the end of this month. 😊
I am not sure if anybody mentioned this, but you mentioned about a reputable scrap yard. I am not sure if this place is a scrap yard or not, as I was never there - i have only ordered by post from them - is Majestic Motors in Moot Street, Pretoria, South Africa. With postage and packaging included, less than half of what the agents charge
Pull the lever in the front passenger footwell (RHD model) then simultaneously pull the two large tabs behind the upper edge of the radiator grill (where the headlights end). Hope this helps!
Enjoyed the videos Waiting for part 4 I brought the w116 last month Didn’t know how to fix this awesome car Your videos very helpful Do you have Fb or IG can let me send some w116 photo to you? I need some help for the fix Thanks
Thank you kindly! We are almost done filming the last part, sorry that it's delayed. Look for the "Mercedes Benz W116" group on Facebook, it is full of friendly and helpful people.
@@GalimotoMedia I mean I would pay for someones tickets to come and see it, get the spare parts and come back and fix it. Its cheaper than getting a new car and im not letting go of this one!
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any more......:-((((
No. It won't happen. Politicians can make stupid noises with the holes under their noses but reality bites. Mercedes Benz has already said they will not be implementing their EV only policy they came out with a couple of years ago. And There is no way either NY or California will be able to force such a fantasy policy.
Daimler Benz would not be amused by your poor appraisal of the W116 Series, which in it's day was generally accepted to be the finest car in the world by international motoring magazines, because of its ground breaking safety features which you have failed to mention.
