Appreciate your guides dude!! Just finished Norman Conquest on Easy just to get back to the RTS genre. Learning about this game is so fun - going to break Easy mode and doing the Rus campaign next!
you really need an intro these days, the new youtube preview on the main page makes it so that when you hover over a vid it starts playing the vid in a mini window with muted sound and when you start the video is just maximized and unmuted, not restarted, so you loose out on the first 5-10s
Your videos, gameplays and commentaries and tutorials have gotten SO good over the years ItalianSpartacus!! You clearly explain the details of a game, the whys and background info/stats also. Your videos are clearly communicated, crisp video quality and always have a great breakdown and details of any game you are showcasing!! Thank you!! 👍🏻👍🏻
On the mangonel, it also says 3 burst damage. Haven't thought of testing it but always assumed the dmg numbers have to be multiplied by 3, one for each "ball" boulder. Gonna test it next time I play. Springald being range damage explains the lackluster dmg vs buildings when I used them. Great video. I've played a lot of AoE2, so it's helpful to see the new counters in AoE4 like I hadn't noticed that light cav do more dmg vs light range. I think I still favour men at arms though to soak arrows.
Nice video bro! I've been struggling against the intermediate A.I so I'm too scared to go online since my knowledge of the game and genre is pretty poor. A cool concept of a video could be the most important/useful hotkeys and shortcuts.
One thing that shocked me with siege weapons is the much shorter range of the trebuchet. I'm used to 2 setting it up at a good distance and just smashing AI. I tried that in here and got instantly wrecked. So much to try to figure out
Yeah the treb has a bit shorter of a range than I'd like, BUT it's also much harder to counter snipe artillery because the range is reduced across the board
I honestly feel like heavy cav countering man-at-arms is a bit too overtuned at the moment. I think man-at-arms should have the capability to mitigate or even soft-counter heavy cav on the virtues of begin able to train more of them.
That's a super valid point, but without heavy cav, the only other early age option would be crossbows. Depending on your faction, that can be punishing since some factions have faster fire times. Where as MaM are universally strong with some being better than others
@@italianspartacus Those observations are also entirely valid. As a game designer and Dungeon Master of 20 years, I think its better to buff up, than it is to nerf down. Rather than nerfing knight stats or abilities, and without reducing the cost or construction time of MAA to compensate that would make them overtuned vs other counters, they could instead implement an ability for MAA that allows them to raise their shields at the cost of reduced speed. Reduces incoming damage from ranged or melee, dosnt work against siege weapons, is a toggle ability like spearmen's brace, and the ability can only reduce damage from one damage type at a time. So if your MAA are shield's up in melee with knights, (they have a chance of soft countering the knights because of the shield wall), but ranged attacks from the enemy archers/crossbows behind the knights, are still going to do full damage to them. Not really sure how balanced it would be. But i honestly cant wait to create it and implement it into a mod once the Editor Tools release.
this is awesome. Quick question on crossbowmen , if they are 15 damage range and extra bonus vs heavy , why ever use archers when 15 regular damage vs 16 for archers vs light infantry but the big bonus on heavy that crossbowmen get?
Loving this game and primarily been playing Mongols. Noticed that some of their techs bug out and cannot be researched and if you are at max population, you can’t move your buildings because they are counted as units.
The mangudai stone requiring upgrade doesn't bug, it says in its description that you can only research it if you have not yet researched any other upgrades at the archery range yet.
Thank you for the Video. But one thing which is also a big thing you forget are the ram (ram is a big thing!) and the siege tower (do People even use the siege tower?:P).

Is this the same unit counter guide that comes with the deluxe edition or something? Don't worry I wont tell :P
Appreciate the hell outta you! Picked up this yesterday. Re-living the good ol days of 1999.
Hahahaha glad it helped my dude! :)

Dude thank you so much, that's such a nice thing to say. Very generous of you. That means a lot :)
Couldn't say it better. He's so talented.
Excellent coverage. I love how succinct you are. Definitely makes my train commute informative and entertaining.
Glad to help with the commute :)
Thank you for the content. I’ve been getting wrecked playing this game but having so much fun in the process. This is gonna help

Very good overview! Also thanks for the linkto the diagram.

Can you do a video on all the unique units, their strengths and counters.
Thanks for this I’m new to the game but I really enjoy it
Can you please make a macro guide? Really loving this game coming from sc2 and enjoying your content immensely.
Nice video dude!
Commenting for algorithm, great guide!
Good info thanks!
thank you so much!

11:12 Now Hand Cannonneers carry long shaft Handgonnes and not arquebuses as seen in AoE2
Great breakdown
It's so confusing watching an AoEIV opening with Bannerlord's music

the spearmen destroy all my horseman/ calvary. regardless of how many calvary I have, even 50 horsemen are destroyed by elite spearman.
how the heck you deal with mongolian ranged cavalry???
What about elephants and ranged horses.

If you select a bunch of different units and attack move them, will they auto target the units they are most effective against?
Unfortunately no :(
@@italianspartacus Damn this explains a lot of poor outcomes in fights I've had so far lol.
what counters artillery
how to kill around 100 archers on a a wall?
nice!
Is this game worthwhile if you're only really interested in single player?
It is!
@@Kunbeeb Good, I'll put it on the list.
Is that bannerlord music in the background 😂
Dude the Bannerlord music in the start feels so out of place haha
Hahaha I needed something with more PUNCH TO IT!!
Mangudai????????????????????????
