  • @expertboxing

    RIGHT?! I don't know why some people are amazed. This is the standard boxing jump rope stuff. Everybody in the gym does it.

  • @expertboxing
    @expertboxing  11 років тому

    It's simply a movement. It can be for resting the shoulders, or resting the legs, or building up the momentum to spin the rope faster for doubles/triples. Or you do it because you feel like it.

  • @expertboxing
    @expertboxing  11 років тому

    I'd say you can learn all these basic jump rope tricks in a month and then maybe 6 months to get really comfortable to the point where you feel like you're dancing with no effort. They're pretty standard. You just have to do it.

  • @drewfaro04
    @drewfaro04 11 років тому

    hey bro let me just say that your tricks are pretty sick. can i mention one thing tough? i think you just need to shorten the ropes a few cm's(centimeters), i realized you had too much swing. i had the same problem, didnt know i was actually getting better so i took about 3 cm on each side. I basically placed one foot in the middle of the rope and brought both handles together to make sure they were just an inch under my right shoulder or left doesnt really matter.

    @mikemushlock7604 9 років тому +1

    what kind of rope do you use

  • @expertboxing
    @expertboxing  11 років тому

    I wanted this rope to be longer so slow down the jumping rhythm and give me time to talk during the jumps. Otherwise, it'll be too fast and harder to see the rope on camera.

  • @saggimaaggi

    might be a dumb question but when i swing the rope on my side like u did around 1:28, when i separate the rope to jump again, my entire jump rope is tangled up. any ideas why?

    1:13 what is that for? Why do boxers do that without moving their bodies, just their arms before jumping the rope?

  • @expertboxing
    @expertboxing  11 років тому

    15 minutes means going 15 minutes non-stop. 5 rounds would be more like 20 minutes non-stop since you're adding in the rest intervals.

  • @KeithGreenshields
    @KeithGreenshields 9 років тому +1

    I have a question for you. I am trying to get my cardio up. I find skipping the best, so I gave up treadmill running, stairmasters and bikes. What is your view on this. Is it wise to do that or will I lose my cardio in other areas. Also...I lied, 2 questions. How often should I skip? I had been doing it daily for 20 minutes.

    • @KeithGreenshields
      @KeithGreenshields 9 років тому

      Yes I agree with that. Stress kills dead!

    • @LlamaWarriorMan
      @LlamaWarriorMan 9 років тому +2

      Dude I'd do it all still. It is good to switch it up. I started skippin so I've been doin the stair machine a lil less but it is still bomb to do. I'd say do it all, cuz all those things works the body in diff ways.

      i have found tht one should mix jump rope with other exercises or sports as well during the same session..may be a short 5 mins jog or soccer or badminton in between. .doing only jump rope for 20 30 minutes with breaks makes lower limbs and ankles a bit stiff..

    What's the point of the tricks is it just to keep entertained or does it promote a better exercise not the leg things but with the hands criss crossing and to the side ones

    • @jeremymuir4332
      @jeremymuir4332 8 років тому

      yep mostly to keep the mind involved so it's easier to concentrate - but there's a coordination benefit too.

    • @greatlakes6916
      @greatlakes6916 5 років тому

      The cross-over arm stuff brings better circulation to other parts of the upper body too. And as the other person said, coordination between cardio, lower body, core, and upper body movement.
