It's not sampled from another song, more likely the other way around. Christina Aguileras "Genie in a Bottle" is from 1999. "Shape of My Heart" is from 1993. And yes, that part is very much the same.
@@shaharadegan9993 Lol I felt much the same way 20 years ago while waiting for The Bourne Supremacy to start playing and they were playing Queen through the cinema speakers to pass the time and these young kids mistook them for The Darkness 😂

I watched an interview with Sting about this album and where his musical ideas came from. He said on reflection, many of the ideas originated from the music of J S Bach.
The lyrics are genius and the music is even better. A total masterpiece in every way. Similarly brilliant is Sting's "Fields of Gold." He is a unique talent.
The guitarist playing that "sample" is Dominic Miller, the guy who wrote it! You're hearing the original. Everyone else has sampled it from this song. Sting's lyrics are always great, he's a master storyteller. Check out his songs "When We Dance" and "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You" for a couple more brilliant ones. But he's got so many!
Hi Bisscute, great song, Sting writes some wonderful songs. Bye the way that song was used in the movie Leon 1994 Starring Jean Reno, Natalie Portman and Gary Oldman.
Besson is one of my all time favorite movie makers, one reason is because he uses Eric Serra for his incredible scores, and of course this song of Stings. He had me at The 5th Element 👍 @@Mickael_
Lyrically Sting is one of the best in not only his solo, but his Police writing too. But he is just as prolific in his musical writing.. chord usage, bridge creation, tempo changes, he is genius. Fortress Around Your Heart - is a classic example of all his incredible talents rolled into a 4 minute song.
Dear Bisscute this song was used in the soundtrack of the movie "León The professional" to which you already reacted on your other channel Bissflix. Sting made it many years before Cristina's song
One of Sting's best songs for sure. Another great one to check out is Fragile. There's a live version that features Stevie Wonder that will blow you away!
This guitar part is the genius of Premium guitarist Dominic Miller, and many guitarists have their "own" version of playing this. Complex chordshapes. Great song. But Fields of Gold is my personal fav. Love your channel!
The chord progression that Dominic Miller made for this song is amazing, it surely inspired Christina Aguilera and many others in their songs. Sting writes all his lyrics, other great lyrics could be High hopes by Pink Floyd (AOL sessions) or Don't belive a word by Thin lizzy, i love the Gary Moore live in Sheffield version.
Oh man...... I discovered this my senoir year of HS. So many memories. This is some great music writing. That bridge is something else. Brings me back! PS this is how I discovered Vinnie Colaiuta on drums
Beautiful lyric. Sting was a school teacher for a time and is very well educated and very well read and it shows in even his simplest songs. My personal favorite is Fortress Around Your Heart, but this is my favorite of his albums. This song, Fields of Gold, If I Ever Lose My Faith, are are just brilliant musically and lyrically. He's one of the most poetic and profound songwriters ever, and his voice is amazing.
You have to locate yourself chronologically. It is Cristina's song that is similar to Sting's song and not the other way around. It's like I'm saying that my grandfather looks like me when it's the other way around. Just because you knew Cristina's song first doesn't mean it was made first.
Been listening to Sting for 30 years. I come back to this one as much as any of his. Also underrated is ‘Why should I cry for you’, beautiful music arrangement and also incredibly unique and beautiful lyrics. The longer version is a great choice if you want to give it a listen. Keep up the fantastic vids!!
Sting is an amazing storyteller/poet. Another song that I love that is along these lines is 'Why Should I Cry for You?'. Breaks my heart every time I listen to it.
They dance alone very emotional song that sticks in your mind The live version filmed in South America I'm celebrating my sixtieth birthday today and thank god that song still brings tears to my eyes and quite rightly so the best song from Sting in these horrible times we live in❤😢😊
That melody is a practice exercise created by Sting's guitarist Dominic. It's based on Bach. Dominic was using it to practice, Sting heard it, went for a walk and came back with the lyrics for this song.
While a great song, Thats an opinion, & my opinion is that there are many sting songs every bit as amazing, & some even better....& if ur basing ur opinion on the fact that its been "sampled a lot", thats your point of view, but also a pretty weak prerequisite to attaining greatness, any tom, dick & harry can sample something....& also, many god awful & horrible songs have been sampled too. Unless ur cutting a sample up to make a new riff or a new beat, sampling (in my opinion) is a pretty retarded, & lazy practice.
This song is the theme song for "The Professional"(1994) & it was also sampled on the Hip Hop track; "The Message" by NaS from his "It Was Written" Album in 1996
Hello Bisscute, you reacted to one of my favorite songs from childhood! When I saw YT notification I almost screamed 😂 I'm glad you liked it too. This song appeared before Aguilera's song and the guitarist said in an interview that he used this riff as warm-up because it is simple and classical music-based, but Sting really liked it and THE SONG was born) and yes it was harmonica
The Guitar intro (that hook) was written by Dominic Miller (The Guitarist that is harmonizing in the video). Song by Sting, of course. One of the Most Sampled song.
Осенняя мелодия. Грустная песня. Но придёт весна и всё будет хорошо! Спасибо ведущей за репортаж! Девушка, угадывающая мелодию с 3 нот, достойна уважения!❤
That Instrument in the solo should be a clarinet, and in the middle you can hear an armonica too. However "i'm not a man of too many faces, the mask i wear is one" is 1 of the best quotes in the world!!
David Sanchez, on keyboards/synthesizer, which can resemble any instrument, was playing the harmonica/ Alto sax ..part. David Sanchez, one of the greatest unnamed studio musicians in history. He is also in demand for live tours. BIS, wanna see David Sanchez at his best, check out "Badge" live from Eric Clapton on the one rider tour. ❤

There is an acoustical version of this with Sting and Dominic Miller, just sitting on a couch, Dominic Miller playing guitar. As close as it gets to perfect..
You might have recognized the tune from when you reacted to the film "Leon the Professional" that starred Natalie Portman and Jean Reno. This song was played at the end of the film.
If anyone sampled this, this song from 1993 (over thirty years ago) is certainly the original. I can still see the album in yellow and black before my eyes („Ten summoner’s tales“). This album also contained the even more famous track „Fields of Gold“. Good stuff!
Léon: The Professional[a] is a 1994 English-language French action-thriller film written and directed by Luc Besson. It stars Jean Reno and Gary Oldman, and features the film debut of Natalie Portman.
