This gives me hope. I’ve been through all injections and still love running. I had to postpone my plan to do my first Ultra this past weekend until next year. Seeing my Ortho doc for 5th opinion. Thanks for giving me hope that I can keep running if I work at it!
Glad to hear you are still running. I am providing a link to an article from Dr. Stone on how to maintain your running career throughout your whole life www.stoneclinic.com/blog/running-life
I had bi-lateral partial (medial) knee replacement 11 months ago and today I just started doing a little bit of light running but it’s been a long road to get to this point. I had to work very hard to strengthen my muscles around the knee with yoga and weights and Pilates also, I’m curious he doesn’t seem to have any scars on his knees… I have long scars - probably 6 inches.
Hi there Teri Lynn. Congratulations on your return to running and much respect for the work you put in to accomplish that. Lanny had a medial partial knee replacement using our MAKO robotic system. This helps minimize the incision size and the reduce the amount of tissue removed during surgery, but Lanny definitely had an incision and a surgery scar.
@@stoneclinic ah, yes, probably it just didn’t appear very noticeable in the video! I also had the same Mako robotic surgery! Thank you 😊 for the video and the inspiration!
Hello, Phil. Dr. Stone and the StoneFit Rehab Team regularly return knee surgery patients to high-level sports. Every patient and every injury is different. So we cannot make any general promises. But Dr. Stone has helped world-class tennis players and as well as amateur tennis, squash, pickleball, players get back to their sport. You can find more about the procedure here www.stoneclinic.com/partial-knee-replacement
