This gives me a lot of hope! I'm waiting for a knee surgery as a 30 year old. Very similar story to his. Aiming for a partial knee replacement. Let's see how we go!
Here's a blog written by the operating surgeon Dr. Kevin Stone on when is the right time for surgery. Definitely worth a read in your situation www.stoneclinic.com/blog/when-to-have-knee-surgery
I appreciate your clinic so much. I'm an ultrarunner and you are the only source I could find that gave hope for post PKR running. I'm across country so I had to use a different surgeon, but since my PKR 2 years ago, I've finished 35 100 mile ultramarathons, including some of the top difficult races in the country like Cruel Jewel and Grindstone, qualifying for UTMB. My knee is still going strong. Thank you for breaking away from conventional wisdom that running life has to end with this surgery.
