Our neighbors tell that If we put water in sump it will contaminate the good water too (corporation water).. Pls reply

Hello Sir, Thanks for your request. You cannot collect the rain water when it first rains. Let the water flow to the ground. Dust particles and other sediments will be flushed away. Now, rain water harvesting filters are available (you can search through google). We can fit it to the rain water pipe. The outlet pipe could be connected to the top of a plastic drum or tank. In the bottom of the drum put pebbles, above the pebbles put some charcoal and above that put river sand. The rain water from RWH filter will flow through this filter bed. In the bottom of the drum put a hole and fit an outlet pipe. Pure rain water will flow through this pipe which can be stored in the sump. If the sump is closed in such away that sunlight cannot penetrate into it the water will not get any contamination. Another simple method : you can use cloths to filter rain water.

From last year bcos of a newly constructed apartment, lots dove droppings are getting accumulated. Though we clean periodically this summer rain can't be sent in. Can you suggest some idea from your experience. Thanks
Please let out the 1st day rain water into the drain. In the 1st day rain itself the dove dropping will be washed off and flushed to drainage system. Next day you can follow your method it will work properly. Even if some more dove drops are not drained out it will neutralized by the nature you need not worry you get good water.
Salem town in Tamilnadu receiving 974 mm annual rainfall. This rainfall was discharged through 45 mm diameter pipes for the past 34 years (My house age) no water clogging has happened so far. During my graduation in civil engineering, it was thought to me that the minimum 100 mm diameter drainage pipe should be used for 37 sqm roof area .so what you advised me is right based on the theory is correct.but in practical it is sufficient to use 45 mm diameter for a well-cleaned rooftop. I think the theory could have been developed based on the rainfall occurs at cherrapunji of Assam anyhow thank you for watching my video so deeply.

This was tested for a period of 30 Years. So no corrections in the pipe size are required.
