    Peter you said something
I hardly think about and that is the ability to see the character of the tree when you decided to cut. Enjoy your vlog.

The nebari on the flip side is fantastic. I like the branching on the first side we saw but the nebari on the other side makes it the front in my mind.

A true artful beauty! ❤ I have always loved the bonsai, but until i read your book "the art of growing and keeping minature trees" , i was amazed at the history and truth of true artistic love and care of these beauties! Your book explains so completely that the true bonsai is true art. Thank you so much for amazing video.😊❤

The leaves show that it is a maple from the amoenum group. Autumn color could be a hint of which variety it might be. Osakazuki, Ichigyo Ji, Hogyoku or Tsuma Gaki would be possible.

I love your videos with great seasoned wisdom and insight! I employ your techniques when pruning back any of my standard plants for maximum growth, beauty and design in my own landscape. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge and expertise. I love your very "Zen" presentation never judging man or plant. 🌟 Your camera man does an excellent job as well. I was so impressed with his respect for you in turning your bonsai tree around so we could see the backside. You work together so well that we often forget he is filming!

It's a green Japanese maple you can tell by leaf shape and by the red outline on the green the leaves. Absolutely beautiful Bonsai, I would love to have one like that. 👍👍

To me it doesn't look like an green acer palmatum though. The leaf shape looks a bit odd to me for a regular japanese maple. Could be what you said and it might throw me off since the tree is so old.

That is an awesome tree! I really like the hole in the middle and then it separates into two trees. I might be tempted to try and fit a tall pointed rock inside of it to try and make it the "leader" and then trim the trees to form the conical shape. In my mind it looks very dramatic. Nice shirt, by the way! 👌

I have a European field maple that's growing vigoriously. But I planned to repot it from a nursery pot into a bonsai pot next year. Should I prune the leaves or just let it grow out?

Thank you - at 83 I still have a VEE shape body. I will show you my triceps one day. I dont do any weights or body buildings - its just from lifting trees. I was a competitive cyclist once and swimmer occasionally now. Thats all.
