Honestly if I lived near you I would volunteer my time to follow you around picking up after you and composting it just to watch you working your magic.

About 20 years ago, I lost many 10-20 year old bonsai. I have just resumed. After watching Peter I really wonder: only if we had these videos earlier. Still, I am only 66 years :) Lets see what I do with my cuttings that I hope to develop as bonsai.

If you are of the belief that you must baby your trees and be gentle with them while also protecting them from every little thing, just watch one episode of Herons Bonsai, and you will realize just how hardy Acers are. 😅

Peter leaving a war zone trail of branches behind him. The staff walks by... "Yep Peter was here" 😂

I go to local nurseries and occasionally find a large tree I want to bonsai. I've asked the staff for pruners to shorten the trunk so it will fit in my car. You should see the looks on their faces! They've finally got use to me but I still shock new staff from time to time.

I am so surprised that you are so brave to just prune them so fast :) I never pruned my Crimson queens and Orangeola too.....oh my.....I think I have to start learning how to be brave and prune them....:(

So no matter it’s full summer, you can make all those cuts? I thought there are only like two times a year you can prune maples…

I wish that I could be a student of this man. Daily exposure to his wisdom.

I love how you show both the good and bad of growing trees for bonsai... It's not all rainbows and sunshine. It's WORK! I would love to spend just one day walking through your "growing fields." You give me inspiration and understanding of how to "make bonsai." Thank you, Peter...

I love watching all peters’ tree videos! He tells it like it is and watching him trim all the branches is like meditation to me. He keeps the techniques simple and easy to understand.

I love these long videos of cutting maples. Like ASMR this is. Thank you!

Been watching you for years now, this is my first year of having a bonsai and thanks to your vids I am so much better at keeping these plants intact ^^

This makes me feel better. I been watching your videos Peter for a while. I started growing my own maple and finally chopped it today. It was about 5 ft tall. But it's trunk was very thin and it needed to be forced to make lowers. So know it's about 18 inches maybe 2 ft.
